How do I do backspin? It was never explained... did I miss something that told me how to do it? I've done the beginning and intermediate quiz and neither mentioned how it was accomplished.

How do I do backspin? It was never explained... did I miss something that told me how to do it? I've done the beginning and intermediate quiz and neither mentioned how it was accomplished.

Hold down after the second X press.
If you hold up after the first press and then down after the second one you get Super backspin
Once you hit rank 6 you unlock ultra spin (press Up at the same time during your second press, and down at the same time as your third press)
Only need to press at the same time on the third press for Ultra. Makes it a little easier.
Great, thanks. For "ultra spin", how does that work? Do I not hold down up after the first press, but tap it at the same time I tap the first press, and the same for the second? Don't hold down, but tap it right when I tap the second press?
Also, where in the game is any of this explained?
Any good video or tutorial online that goes over custom clubs?
I haven't seen the need to use them yet but would be interested to see if its worth running around each course and put time leveling them up.
Besides maybe hitting a slightly farther drive any other purposes? Already happy with the control some of the standard clubs you unlock give.

You can spend the upgrade points to your liking, including on control, so you'll end up with a better version of the club style you like.
Seems to be very much worth it if you spend all 11 points on power, IMO. Ended up with 352y on the driver, 362y with power.
Wow that power upgrade is significant, over 40 yards. Might have to invest some time into it.
I'm pretty sure there's a mechanic that makes your gains per upgrade random. Not sure how good or bad mine ended up being compared to others, but yeah it's a nice upgrade.

Yep, and if you recycle them and start all over it seems to get even better. Always had 2 or 3 level ups the second time. Have 372/382 now!
That's insane! Is it best to recycle the clubs once fully upgraded or once they need to be repaired ?
Late but thanks! That was it. Don't know how I missed it, since I've looked around those nine holes just 5 minutes before posting, but now I'm done with fishing.
Only need the 3 condors and then slowly grinding for the revenge VS characters to get my next EG plat. Hopefully some patches land in the meantime, don't see myself playing much without some good changes in the coming weeks.
By far my prettiest scorecard yet. Stupid birdie on 11 cost me the 39. Haha.
Well looks like they've officially turned the series into Tiger Woods Golf. I liked this game because it was a lot harder than TW and scores like that weren't common in this game.

Everybody's Golf makes Golden Tee look like a sanctioned PGA Tour simulation. If you're not -30 or better, you suck.

Ah didn't realize that. It does seem like this version has more mega cup and "non official" matches than the previous ones, at least OOB, if my memory serves me right. I just want to level up so that when graded tourneys start I'm not left in the dust lol.
It's taking a lot of patience and frustration to get used to this game after coming from Mario Golf 3DS.

Managed to get 3 Albys though so some progress I guess.
Adjusting for the wind was a pain in the ass. I kept missing the water or crashing into the hut.

The question is why they let 50 people on the same map if the PS4 cant handle that.

Sweet!! Those are the only trophies I need too. I've already spent a good few hours trying for the Condors and I've come within inches of them so many times. Infuriating! Lol.
Yeah, tried for an hour today as well. Came close a couple of times, but only with tailwind, so I recycled my clubs in hopes of them awarding gems more frequently in the future. Will get the revenge characters in the meantime.

They should really let us buy gems with coins, can even make it 1000/1500 a piece.
I played quite a bit last night and damn, while I still have fun playing this game, hitting approach shots without backspin and having that anticipation of getting a homing or super backspin shot to the cup just isn't the same.
There is just something about that anticipation of getting PI with super backspin and watching the shot, hoping to get an amazing shot. And that's now pretty much completely gone.
Instead I'm doing side spin or no spin, and at impact I just look directly at the club head, and 50% of the time the impact point is not in the center even though I hit PI, and that I don't even watch the shot and just mash X to get to the next shot, not caring where it lands since I know it's nowhere near where I aimed.

During the beta you could have 50 people on the course with no problems. Something seemed to change after patch 1.04 that they can hopefully fix here soon with another update.

When you say it could handle it, do you mean frame rate? I avoid online play because the only time I gave it a shot, it was like playing a slide show.

Yes it was much better in the Beta and if you go online on a course not currently the bonus play one or one of the later ones unlocked then it performs fine too.

I asked the other day but no on answered,is there any way to play with a friend online and level up your clubs? Kinda sucks to play online and your clubs don't level up.

You're not resetting the stats you've been leveling up with your clubs. You'd only reset (recycle) your custom clubs, which you get in rank 7. The upgrades on custom clubs are in lieu of the increases afforded by the other preset clubs. You just decide how to distribute the upgrades. So if Big Air maxes at +8 on power, you could create a custom club with +10 or even +20 or more on power. Or +10 on power and +10 on control. Whatever configuration you like.
The reason why you might want to recycle your custom clubs is to try a different configuration or, the real reason, to get better upgrades. You can upgrade your custom clubs up to 11 times. Each upgrade gives you 1-3 levels. Usually your first set, you might only get 1-2 levels each upgrade. But some have said after recycling them, you tend to get more per upgrade.
Yes, please do join! If you're not familiar with discord, it was originally set up to provide voice channels to party chat on PC. However, most servers use a lot of text channels in ways that are similar to a forum.
If you mean golf level, it's 15. At least until they add more levels, which some are speculating they will do in a future update. In Oob, levels 16-20 could only be achieved through online tournament wins (20 also required an albatross).
If you mean rank, it's 7. Also known as special rank. That's where you play VS matches against "revenge" characters (way upgraded versions of characters you've already beaten) and special characters. However, you can only play one per day. And you can't replay them that same day if you lose. You'll have to wait until they come back around.

They are a lot tougher but lack consistency so they still screw up a couple of holes but if they get a shot at the green you usually end up watching a dead accurate shot. Which also means hole in one on a par 3.

They definitely are harder, but not too bad so far. I've played 3 or 4 and haven't lost. And I'm not great. Though I just played the Korean Team EG girl, and she had chip in eagles on two holes and got within a few feet of the cup on several other holes. However it was mega cup, so I was able to mostly keep up until she self-destructed like the VS characters tend to do. Still, it was my first one that went the distance. Finally, a nice challenge!
By the way, I think we played on the first DLC course. Easy fairways, but those greens are no joke. Gave me nostalgia for OoB.
