It would probably make more sense to have an established website before making a podcast.

Probably not, so I guess it's their loss if they're investing all of this time trying to "break out" or whatnot. If it's just for the benefit of the thread and they enjoy making it, more power to the guys.

I don't know what it is, but something about Smile Precure has a similar sensibility to Slayers but I can't quite put my finger on it. If I had to guess it's that it's not afraid to poke fun at itself occasionally or just not take itself too seriously all the time.

I've always been more partial to this idea because, at least, aniblogging seems marginally less moribund than anime podcasting.
The view count on Youtube videos is not updated in real time.
I dunno. I do think it's weird people can get so invested in Toonami run stuff but don't seem to explore the space around it.

Soul Eater episode 1
Story: B - Simple but intriguing! I like the setting.
Audio: C - Serviceable, but nothing special.
Visuals: A+ - Great stuff, it looks like pictures moving and simulating motion.
Fanservice: F - Too many boobies. I hope Maka doesn't show any panties.
Verdict: A great addition to the best anime block in America!

I like this idea. If someone did do a podcast, it wouldn't necessarily have to be about a broad subject about this season or whatever. I was in a podcast with a pal of mine for his aniblog just "discussing" who our favorite girls were in a bunch of anime. It was basically just small talk, but it was pretty damn fun.
