This week's Nintendo Download includes the following featured content:

Virtual Console™ on Wii U™

PAC-MAN® – Control iconic character Pac-Man as you navigate through mazes, eating Pac-Dots and simultaneously avoiding devious ghosts. MEGA MAN™ – Join the blue bomber in his first ever adventure as he battles the evil Dr. Wily and his robotic henchmen. Mega Man is a super robot created by the genius scientist Dr. Light. When another scientist by the name of Dr. Wily goes rogue with an army of six of his own devious Robot Masters, it's up to Mega Man to put a stop to his nefarious plot by traversing a series of stages rife with enemies, traps and perilous platform challenges. Mega Man was originally released for the Nintendo Entertainment System™ in 1987.

Nothing for me this week other than Tank Tank Tank. Would consider Mega Man on WiiU but I already have it on 3DS and I'm not rebuyung it.

Will update 3DS Balloon Fight.

Man, so the Virtual Console output this week really is just Pac-man and Mega Man. Yeah, I see how VC on the Wii U is going to be, yeesh...

At least I can finally play Tank Tank Tank!

Got an e-mail saying Pokemon Mystery dungeon demo is downloadable (Germany). Can't check it out at the moment but it came with a QR code so it may not be public (yet)? It isn't in the list.

To help with the Japan list... (all 3DS and all 8 May)

Gradius ¥500

Mario Bros. ¥500

Sweet Rendezvous Monkey ¥600

Korokesu ¥500

Maru Pass! Applied Information Technology Engineers Examination ¥2,800

Maru Pass! Basic Information Technology Engineers Examination ¥2,800

I don't know what's up with all the complaining about the update, between GAF and Nintendolife. I think it's a stacked week. I wasn't expecting any VC stuff not to mention F2P Tank or the Rabbit game.

So, regarding Kung Fu Rabbit:
Nintendojo gave it a D+, which translates to 33.33%. Is the game really that bad, or did they just slap a low score onto it because it's downloadable?
I hit the Metacritic page and apparently Nintendojo said
Ultimately, Kung Fu Rabbit just doesn’t cut it in a world where it sits alongside true platforming masters like Trine 2: Director’s Cut and Bit.Trip Presents: Runner 2.
Trine 2? A platforming master? Okay, I think I can safely ignore this reviewer's opinion.

what's different about free Tank3

You download the full game but it works like an arcade game where you have limited credits per day as to what you can play. If you want to play stuff without limits, you have to buy individual parts of the game.

Right now it looks like the DLC unlocks are the campaign mode ($10), individual vs map ($2 a piece), coop monster battles ($4 a piece), and the Kong Vs mode (discounted to $2 but is going to be priced $10 after next week)

The continued trickle Virtual Console strategy is enough to complain about every week. Especially for those with only the 3DS that are expecting Game Boy titles.

Downloading tank tank tank. The DLC page said the "My Kong" DLC is 80% off ($1.99 instead of $9.99) until the 15th, by the way.

So the Tank Tank Tank DLC, which one is worth getting?
I quite enjoy My Kong for multiplayer purposes - can be pretty hilarious. The player with the gamepad acts as a huge Kong in armor, smashing its way through the city and other players. These have to take down the Kong within a time-limit with infinite lives.

Good news for Europeans, the 60hz love continues. I know some people were worried because these are third-party titles but the worry can end. 60hz Mega Man ahoy! And Pac-Man, I guess...

The Wii was released in 2006, and it got three Virtual Console games per week for several years. Two games that are already available on the 3DS is hardly a stacked week.

Mega Man hasn't aged well at all, bring on Mega Man X already!

Jesus Christ, people, me putting them up in the list now won't make the next 28 days easier on us!

I'll update the OP ASAP, hahaha.

Might as well be in the June downloads :'(

My next month; Fire Emblem -> Oracles -> Animal Crossing

*dead*

Dose of pessimism; it speaks volumes that they're putting out NES titles first. It's exactly the same reason we haven't got GBA titles yet.

I was about to buy Mega Man when I noticed that there was no info about it being 60Hz or not. Thanks for clarifying that it is in fact 60Hz.

Yup, MM is the US version - complete with Capcom USA/NoA title screen. Just checking Pac-Man...

EDIT:

Pretty sure it's the US version too. Good stuff (well, as good as the NES port gets :-) )

Crash City Mayhem comes out in Europe next week, 19.99 Euros.
Talking about it here since it's going to be released just on eShop.

I just got a 3DS. Should I buy Pushmo

I really dont want to buy stuff on eShop though cause tied to console only :|

Tbh...what are we really missing on the original Game Boy besides Square Enix?

Go. Buy. It. 5 dollars won't set you back none.

Tbh...what are we really missing on the original Game Boy besides Square Enix?

Not just original Game Boy titles, but Colour titles as well.

But for Game Boy titles, it would be lovely to see Pokemon TCG, F-1 Race, Kid Dracula, Donkey Kong Land, Wario Blast, Picross, Kirby's Dream Land 2 and of course, there is plenty of glamour for the Pokemon games to make an appearance.. although I wouldn't want to play through them. I'm sure other people have some way lesser known titles they grew up with that they'd love to play. A shame we'll never see RC Pro AM either. Game Boy does not have a deep library, but if their strategy is to string out their best releases for the last three years of the 3DS' life, it's terrible.

And that doesn't touch on GBC, the Game Gear being dead on arrival, Game Boy Advance games skipping 3DS in favour of the Wii U and complete lack of all other portables (TG16, NGPC), whereas when the Wii VC launched, it seemed like Nintendo was really pushing to get everything they could on board. And their release strategy back then was far better. They would give us a few AAA titles per month and pad releases with lesser titles. Now we're lucky to even get those lesser titles.

Yay! Now it seems that only the tittles that were localized into languages other English will be problematic.

I wonder what they will do with Balloon Fight. It's absence from the VC launch line up makes me hopeful that they will offer a 60Hz version.
