If P5 isnt set in college i think im done with the series
Ignoring the fact the college in Japan is different from college in the west, what could possibly be add from a college setting?

We already study.

We already have clubs and events.

We already had a dorm setting in P3.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was something like "Persona 5 trailer shown after Persona 3 movie credits! Go catch Persona 3: Spring of Birth in these select cities for a glimpse of the next game in the Persona series!"

I expect something to be shown with the movie the night it opens. That would spread through social media and then when the site goes live everyone gets to see what moviegoers saw.

Yeah but its kids...... would like to see these situations handled by adults....also an American college setting for Persona would be incredible

Is the age difference between a 16-17 year old really that much bigger from a 19-23 year old?

Then you should aim for even older ages. College students do as much if not more stupid things as high school students. I also fail how being an adult would change the situation. Most of the characters in Persona already act more mature then their age.

yes? People and college culture are entirely different than high school. Most highschoolers I meet seem like children compared to the people I regularly talk to on campus.

The only difference would be instead of joining the Kendo team you would join the circle-jerking back-patting recycling club, and instead of dancing at club escapade you'd be smoking weed in that kid down the hall's room.

Persona 5: Japanese transfer student to a US university for 50% of the game, the last 50% is back in Japan.

OK...I'm a college Sophomore. I don't feel very different from how I was as a Junior or Senior in high school, and I doubt I'm going to change radically in my last two years of college.

Some people act more mature in college, I guess (consequences are bigger for sure), but that won't matter too much in how the characters handle serious situations.

You must not meet a lot of college students, like this one time at my dorm a group of guys brought a cow to the second floor of the dorm or when they start sledding down the stair with mattresses.

I think it's a big problem with Persona's fanbase though. Since Persona 3, I reckon there was just a surge of people who came into it for the social link side of things, but with that comes another group of people who, for the most part, are fucking weird. These are the sorts of people who like to ship two males characters together in fanfics, forever displaying them on the internet as a sign of their sexual frustration in the face of fictional anime-style characters. These are the people that make liking Persona a taboo, because it makes it seem as if the series is a dating sim and not an RPG with a light social sim attached to it.

basically akihiko and yu are a bad match stop doing that you fuckin' nerds

Sophomore checking in. The general maturity level of any random person on my campus is well below that of the people I knew in high school.

The word makes me sick whenever I hear it. Just reminds me of how much I hate...

Yah. This is the real asshole of the internet, people.

Eh, its really is a very different experience for everyone. I'm also a college sophomore, and my time in college has been a lot different and I'm a largely different person than I was in high school.

There are a lot of people I see who act decidedly different than high school students. You also see a lot of people who act like they are still in high school.

Its quite noticeable how varied people adapt to college and how it affects them, spanning the entire range, really.

Um, really?

Have you seen your tv channels? Of course there are brilliant exceptions like Breaking Bad, The Last of Us, etc. and so forth, please dont get me wrong, but Its kind of obvious most big billed films/games are heavily marketed to teens or younger with 19- and ups having to adapt (or thankfully developers cater to us in subtle means) (COD, Skylanders, etc.)

At the very least Twilight and Hunger games are blatant examples of this

It certainly pushes me away from wanting to share the series with my friends. As much as I like the series since starting to play it, there is enough taboo connotations that come with it that its become s guilty pleasure in a way(despite not deserving anything of the sort)

I don't watch TV, but I thought you meant that most media "starred" teenagers, not that they were meant to appeal to teenagers.

Most TV isn't starred by teens, but mid to late twenty year old pretending to be teens. Making millions of teenagers wonder why they don't look like they are close to 30.

it's obviously going to be an anime highschool teen love-fest. don't know why people expect otherwise. i'm here for the music, combat and the funnier social links. and no protag-worshipping this time, please.

Im in my 6th year of college and can tell you once you get into your junior and senior year you will realize you are a much different person than you were in highschool.

Making the games set in high school is what makes it great. The juxtaposition of the life of high school with the serious tones the games deal with is what makes Persona imo.

Dream Persona 5:

Just like Persona 4 Golden.
2 year calendar.
First year is final year at high school.
Second year is at college.
Supernatural things start happening in the high school town.
College year is in another part of Japan, supernatural phenomena follows protag.
Protag and his friends basically turn into the ghost busters but with shadows.
Only 4 of the protag's friends come to college with him, depending on your relationship with them.
Make new friends at college, a couple of whom are past characters.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
I hope it's set in elementary school.
