Terribly angry about this whole fiasco. I signed up for the Sony "Email me when preorders go up" thing months ago, yet no email. Sony said the would not drop preorders out of nowhere, then that it would start today the 17th.. Only for me to wake up this morning with all pre-orders already out of stock and zero mails from Sony to preorder one.
Next time either make the predecessors available during your announcement ... Or put a proper preorder embargo with a clear lift date... And don't tell your customers it'll start tomorrow then allow all the retailers to sneak up their preorder pages at random times after the press conference.

I had one in my cart at Best Buy and tried to checkout for two hours but the button didn't work. Eventually, after hitting checkout for two hours it told me they were sold out!
I went thru the same thing about 2am Central time. I had been trying continuously and slowly kept getting to the next screen and finally after 2 hours it let me get one.

I got one, was actually the first console I was able to pre-order. I think pre-order going live in the middle of the night and Sony not saying "pre-order now live" at the end of the presentation helped out quite a bit.

Was grateful to be able to secure 1 physical edition on Amazon for my son and 1 physical edition for myself from Target(We play a lot of online co-op together like Destiny 2, Borderlands 3, etc).

Had a horrible time trying to secure one to no avail online here in Canada.
Tried Best Buy, EBGames, thesource, London Drugs, Amazon to name a few. Incredibly frustrating.
Will try to duck out of work when London Drugs and EBGames open in a bit to try to get a preorder done in person.

No, and to be honest, I'm kind of glad. What is there at launch other than Spiderman, which looks good, but I'm in no particular rush to play.
I'll try to nab one in 2021 when there are some compelling exclusives available and hopefully a black color variant of the hardware!

Got mine with minimal hassle from amazon uk. Only had disc version available at first, which suits me as thats the one I wanted.

Destruction Allstars, free AstroBot, Demons Souls (Which looks insane), DMCV with Vergil and upgraded with full global raytracing, Destiny 2 upgraded, COD Black Ops, CP2077 and Godfall...
Followed in a few weeks by Kena and Ratchet and Clank and others.
Early 2021 would make sense though, I got my PS4 the February after launch.

I'm not planning on getting one until next year, but I was actually really surprised at how easy it was. Had plenty of opportunities to get one but stood firm on my original plan.

Mine is secured for early 2021. Which is fine, because the launch doesn't do it for me bar Demon's Souls.
I'll likely get an S in November, put GP on it and use that.
