Can somebody remind me where the bodies at the end are from? It's not the bikers right? I thought he let them live? Or I don't remember it right

Yeah I understand that they probably wanted to show him very vulnerable and give the supporting team a time to shine finally.

Oh man I just saw the first episode of strike back. i know they change up the cast and the feel of the show in the second season....but this is considered boring?! Richard armitage is such a g. And it's got a cool war action thriller feel to it

Plus it's good to see Rick from the walking dead not being an annoying cunt

Completely missed that Cornballer had already posted the combination video, w00ps. Little too used to skipping all of the spoiler material.

Speaking of that, I think this is all the media that I skipped over,

Prequels - All thirteen on this site.
Zoom in on (behind the scenes) - Ep 7, Ep 8

Original concept reel - http://gregyaitanes.com/banshee/

edit, and the prequel comic - http://www.cinemax.com/img/original-series/banshee/extras/banshee-comic.pdf

As for next season, if the first shot isn't of Hood banging out with Siobhan (and then her re-wrapping the bandage that had fallen off) then I'm going to be pissed. She was creeping on him way too hard for them to skip over it.

Caught up. What a grand finale. I honestly didn't think they'd go so fucking mental; the bodycount, the explosions, the assault at the metalworks... everything was so over the top and Cannon Films-like, almost reminiscent of films like Cobra and the early Chuck Norris films. I loved it.

The RPG scene was "stand up and cheer" worthy.
I actually hollered at the TV. Like, for real.

Me: OH SHIT RPG GET DOWN YOU FOOLS

*bang* *boom*

Me: HUAUAUAUAUAUAU

I went from ofuckofuckofuck to laugh out loud in less than 3 seconds. Quite the feat.

I lol'd so hard at the corny ass mayor getting blown up
I'm not sure that Proctor is going to laugh that much when he learns that the major was inside, just like I guess that Rebecca is not going to take it very well. On that account, I hope we get to see more of Proctor's creepy buttler.

Clicked this thread.

Saw a thumbnail for Rebecca.

Kept clicking through to see more pics.

Started googling her.

Going to get the series on iTunes (BUT CAN'T FIND IT).

Hello Bengraven, welcome to the Banshee OT, enjoy your stay :)

Amazing final episode. Can't wait till' next season. Biggest TV surprise of the new year so far?

Damn right.

See you guys this summer for Strike Back season 3

Damn right.

You're not alone. I kept thinking to myself, "Is Hood going to hit that?" Turns out he did.

OH-MY-LOL

I sure like the hour of mindless fun this show provides in contrast to something like (the amazing) House of Cards.

Plus, it really reminds me of a fav movie, Roadhouse.

Another thing I like about SB is the format. Ten ep seasons like Banshee but they have two episode arcs that tie into an overarching plot that gets settled in the final two episodes. It works well. So now you're getting into it 2 seasons behind you can kinda treat each 2 ep arc as little movies, watching them in 2 ep bursts like that.

Really? That's one of my few complaints about SB, because no matter how they try and set up an "ending" for each "odd" episode, you know something is going to go wrong and they'll need another to sort it out.

Also, the overarching plot is never that compelling because it takes a back seat for 90+% of the season. As far as procedural shows go, though, SB is #1.

Anyway, I don't think there will be a new series that I'll like better than Banshee this year. Vikings had a lot of promise, but it doesn't seem like they'll pull it off (I'm still enjoying it, though). I usually don't jump at shows with a modern setting, but Banshee is just so damn entertaining. Da Vinci doesn't look action-packed enough.

I'd love to see Cinemax try a sci-fi show (like Galactica, not Fringe).

EDIT: So how did the ratings hold up over the whole season? I know it got renewed...but was it by the skin of its teeth or are things pretty much set as long as it stays along this trajectory?

Banshee is Cinemax's most popular series. :)

Starz has one in development. They're not Cinemax, but they're close enough.

yeah, I've heard. Still, the more the merrier since you never know how they will turn out or whether they'll get a season order. As long as it is one of the cable networks. Would be nice if Showtime started doing interesting shows again. HBO is starting to slack, too.

Starz is developing my most anticipated new series. Fucking pirates FTW!

This whole episode.

Sooooooooo good. Good chance for the entire supporting cast to fulfill their season badass quota.

The only thing that bugged me is Rabbit surviving. OH COME ON. Should have died. At least that gives us the chance to have Gordon put him in the ground. Really thought he'd get a badass moment too. But other than that... sooooo good. And we finally got to see Burton in legit action!

But man, where this goes in the future, shit's gonna get crazy. Let's run down what loose plot lines are left tangling:

- The Longshadows wanna kill Proctor.
- Proctor blowing up the casino and accidentally killing the mayor. Jesus.
- The real Hood getting dug up.
- Special FBI Investigator heading to Banshee.
- Jason seeing the YouTube video (finally we see the video!)
- Gordon leaving Carrie
- Rabbit surviving and Hood in Proctor's pocket (kinda).
- Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn.

Cinemax have put out the vault code for everyone that couldn't be bothered.

Thanks for posting this, I'll check it out in the morning.

Was anyone else waiting for Hood to bang the prison psychologist? No? Just me? Haha.

You're not alone. I kept thinking to myself, "Is Hood going to hit that?" Turns out he did.

So was I! And LOL.

Too funny. Lots of absurdist comedy in that gunfight. Sugar getting shot immediately, the RPG, the amputated shotgun blast.

An enjoyable finale. This show has certainly been a big surprise to me, I'm glad I gave it a shot. I absolutely love how much thought they put into things like the opening credits and the prequel episodes. To see that much care for what could easily be written off as just a mindless action show, is very impressive.

We need much more Burton in season 2 please.

will totally Facebook friend you! *giggle* *LOL*
Banshee is a graphic novel whereas Strike Back is a 90's buddy-cop action flick if they were special ops guys instead of cops. It's certainly not as pulpy as Banshee, but Strike Back thrives on the chemistry & charisma of the two leads. It's a good show worth checking out, and I hope people from this thread give it a look if they haven't already. It'd be great to bump up the number of people in the GAF thread because it's such a fun show.

I think they realized that they didn't know what to do with the young mayor plotline, so they decided to just blow him up. It's a very Banshee-esque solution. There are plenty of more interesting cast members, so I don't mind much.

I don't even need to say anything, this is perfect.

Banshee's so good, it's convinced me to give Strike Back a shot. I've never seen it. Should I start with the original BBC Series 1 or should I start with Season 2 under BBC/Cinemax?

Sky1 series, actually ;)

And yes, you should start with OG Strike Back. The tone is much different, but it provides some important background information. Besides, you get to see Rick Grimes being a little shit.

Oh, Sky1, lol.

I think England, I only think BBC. Alright, I'll start with the first Strike Back. It's only six episodes. I can do that before we get to all the brotastic stuff that's apparently what's happening in seasons 2 and 3.

You guys convinced me to give Strike Back a second chance. I enjoyed the first season somewhat when I saw it year ago, but not enough to get to second. But the second proved to be much more up my alley. Dat bomb catching :D

One of the highlights of the entire show, really.

You should start with S3 ASAP, tho. Sexpoilers:

I'm going to watch Strike Back too now. Any recommendation coming from a Banshee fan is worth looking into :p

Keep your mind open, specially if you plan to start from the first (read: British produced) season. It's a heck of a lot more serious and less brotacular.

Also, get ready for A LOT of appearances from the Game of Thrones cast.

Finale was insane, hopefully proctor vs Longshadow war is a big part of the second season... really interesting to me.

Me too hah, does anyone know the best way to watch it? is it on netflix?

Yet he's still more tolerable than he ever was in walking dead haha. Still, the highlight of this show is thorin oakenshield. The man has a commanding voice. Sad to know he's not in the other seasons tho

I don't get where you came to that conclusion.

But damn his sister is fine. Who thinks hood will hit that next season? Lol

I think the mayor was gay. The mayor is involved in the hotel. The mayor gets killed by proctor accidentally in the explosion. The mayor being Alex's lover could ratchet things up even more on Proctor. This would also put more pressure on Hood who owes Proctor big. Just a theory.

Anyone else think Alex Longshadow might be gay?
He could be, but I don't think there's really been a basis to assume any sexuality for Alex yet. His characterization has been almost entirely focused on his family relations and his feud with Proctor.

Mayor Kendall perhaps, but they seemed to write that off at the end with his message to his wife. I could see Burton too, something that would be most welcome.

Personally, I'm hoping Reburton becomes a thing. That'd throw a nice twist into the Rebecca/Hood/Kai "love" triangle.

Finally saw the finale, well it was awesome but it looks like they are not closing the Rabbit storyline which sucks imo. I would rather have Hood next season trying to get his next score while trying to dodge the FBI and deal with the son of the real Hood.

I'm not sure that Proctor is going to laugh that much when he learns that the major was inside, just like I guess that Rebecca is not going to take it very well.

I think Proctor knew he was there. Right before the call the Mayor mentioned working with the tribe to get the casino up, and then Proctor said to Rebecca we just need to remind Alex who his friends are. I think the message to Alex was he has no friends only Proctor.

- Deadline: Cinemax’s ‘Banshee’ Wraps Solid First Season
As all eyes are on the ratings for last night’s second season finale of HBO’s Girls, expected any minute now, the season finale numbers for Banshee, which airs on HBO sibling Cinemax, also came out today. While not as noisy as Girls and some other cable series, the freshman drama executive produced by Alan Ball, which was already renewed for a second season, had a solid freshman run. Its season finale on Friday drew 455,000 viewers at 10 PM and 655,000 viewers for the two plays on the night. That is the largest audience yet for a Cinemax original series finale and third highest for Banshee. Even before the finale, Banshee (average of 433,000 viewers in Live+Same Day/727,000 in Live+7) already outranked the two seasons of Cinemax’s Strike Back (303,000/512,000 for S2, 290,000/441,000 for S1). Its cume viewership of 13.4 million also outpasses the two seasons of Strike Back (9.1 for S1, 8.7 for S2) as well as some HBO series like Enlightened (6.28M) and Treme (9.52M)
