Best redesign of a classic character

honestly new Dante. Old Dante was some animu emo looking garbage

New one actually looks like a real person and has a much better hair style.

Iconic for sure, but...

There's something very charming about his
swole
Boom design.

I 100% believe the first post is being sarcastic.

All my ideas were taken. Garou Terry and Ryu's new alt which should have just been the redesign.

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
Jill Valentine (Resident Evil)
Right answer, wrong redesign.

REmake Jill (and her RE3 version) is seriously one of the best character designs in gaming. I guess I'm a fan of RE designs in general - but Leon and younger Jill are top tier. Chris fared much better than Jill in RE5, though. Although her RE5 self is still leagues above her Revelations design.

Pit from Kid Icarus.

Yup, he even had a change in design going from his NES game to Brawl. It wasn't as big as the change from Brawl to Uprising, but you can tell that they absolutely went with the Uprising design in Smash 4. Pit is easily one of my favorite designed characters and one of my favorite characters ever.

But don't forget about his look from Captain N!

Impa, from the Legend of Zelda games

Went from old granny

to someone that could pass as a Platinum character

In all fairness, these are two different Impas down the family line so it makes sense for them to look this different. The way they suddenly twisted the norm to make her a younger, more agile fighter with a huge sword was ridiculous.

DMC4 Dante is good but the best Dante is DMC2 Dante
Original Dante gets progressively cooler looking as he gets older.

2 > 4 > 1 > 3, design wise anyway. This is disregarding the games each incarnation features in.

yeah this is why SS Impa is the best Impa

it uses both version of Impa really well and both have great designs

I came here to post this, glad someone did!

The Ys 7 design is simply the best.

Ys VIII will be an improvement over Celceta's design, at least.

Is there a good shot of his design in VIII? I haven't kept in track with the game for a while heh, but there doesn't seem to be little to nothing beside the trailer.

I think it was more based off the younger, more agile OoT Impa design.

Tracksuit, porno stache, and aviators. This is one of my personal favorite redesigns because it is just so out there. It's such a "fuck it" design that I love it.

I'm not sure what they do in the actual games to create this effect, BJ also feels like he's a ridiculously huge guy compared to everyone. Maybe its the occasional comments about thing like certain clothing might not fit him or other comments early in the game, but it persists the whole way through the game. Its not something I feel when playing as Master Chief, unless they put right next to a human. Maybe the camera is really high up compared to normal, or the fact that he occasionally use brute force to get out of bad situations. Machine Games really did a great job across the board with Wolfenstein.

It wasn't just the visuals, it was everything about The New Order's representation. The voice actor was absolutely perfect. His writing was impeccable, as a meathead with a heart of gold. They literally could not have done a better job bringing the character into the current generation.
Wow, sounds amazing.
I cant wait to play it when i have more time.

How has no one posted the correct answer yet?

Every redesign in that game was perfect. And the animations were top notch. Next level games are amazing and im sad they are being forced to create the mediocre visuals of federation force.

RE4 Leon was a massive downgrade on RE2 Leon IMO. Rookie cop > cocky government agent.

REmake Wesker was the best Wesker. I don't mind RE5 Wesker from a design point of view, but by then RE was so far gone it just became...weird.

Also, Baldur's Gate 2 Jaheira > Baldur's Gate Jaheira.

He was less cocky and more chill. Las Plagas and chill.

Now the RE6 versions of everyone was questionable, characterization-wise.
