Time Hump Chronicles is absolutely the breakout storyline of season 3. Such a perfect encapsulation of fandom insanity, too. I would totally read a full version of it.

"It's two people connecting...with four other people. And aliens."
That line and her air quotes during Piper and Alex's play were my two favorite moments this season. I'm so glad Vee is gone and Suzanne is back to "normal."

The new girl is stunning, my lord!

The Australian Girl?

Instantly made it to my top 5 ANNOYING tv characters of all time.
Hated everything about her.

✔ Stupid tattoos
✔ Stupid hairdo
✔ cocky/asshole
✔ Australian accent (because it's become an American trend to give cocky/asshole characters a British or Australian accent)
✔ Piper instantly leave Alex after 2 1/2 seasons of them getting back together

Ruby Rose's acting was very... well, it didn't feel like she made any decisions or inhabited anything. She was in the surface level emotion of every line she delivered and that was it. No through line. No character.

She was also suddenly there. Was she always in the prison? Or did she just arrive?
And then suddenly she has a love intrest with Piper who is instant attracted to her wich is weird also if she always was there.

She's not an asshole

She was always there. Piper made a comment an episode or two before Aussie Girl arrived, something like "there's loads of people in here who you've never seen before and then one day you see them and keep seeing them". A really piss poor way of introducing a new character.

She was a shit addition, as I feel, is the loopy woman Alex thought was trying to kill her.

It was a decent season all in all. It's one of those shows which I thoroughly enjoy watching, no matter the story. It's never going to be top tier TV but I'm OK with that.

Well, I loved her hair, didn't mind the tats (apparently they're real anyway), she is Australian so the accent wasn't fake, and why not be cocky?

That said, she was purely a device to get some drama for Piper and Alex and it sucked. One minute they had never seen each other before, then by the end of the season she is somehow in the same dorm as Piper (when she stopped her from giving the guard a handjob). Of course it fits for Piper that she would stop being attracted to Alex the moment she stops being fun but it was weirdly done.

But, I really really didn't mind the addition of Stella, as poorly as her role was done.

i don't know if its me or not but this whole Norma is Jesus story line is grating as a whole and is as bad Vee as in characters acting completely new just for that character.

And Crazy eyes whole porn arc is stupid as hell and both of these just lower the show.
Also Alex and Piper back again-not again-back again is stupid as hell fucking hell.

I thought so too because they don't really give us any real insight as to why these characters believe in Norma. I just imagined a lot of them believing in Norma because they were looking for hope and a reason to feel good. Maybe deep down they don't actually believe all the magic, but they like how Norma makes them feel. And reasons to feel good and hopeful probably get harder and harder to find after being in jail for a couple years.

Everyone seems to be working with what they've got. That was a big theme of this season and its been evident in pretty much the whole show.

I'm loving Pennsatucky and Stella.

I would pay good money to read it.

Wow, that was pretty underwhelming. Almost nothing happened. The Chang subplot didn't really make sense.
How did she go from being pock-maked to not?
At least they made Pensatucky and Soso sympathetic, but I wish they'd retcon Soso's name though because it's kinda racist.

This is how I took it as well. They all just need something to get them through and for a little while it was Norma.

Yeah, it's completely fucked up! Watching the transformation happen in real time was surreal. I don't like this
new Piper
. I'm scared.

Also, is
Alex dead?
WE HAVE TO WAIT A WHOLE YEAR TO FIND OUT???

Well, I could write a lot but it's late. Season 1 > Season 3 > Season 2.

Piper as a villain felt so forced. She feels more like a charicature of a villian than an actual menacing one. Ugh.

Season was as entertaining as the last two. Nothing special, but good times were had.

This is more or less my take too, though I think I liked it more than last year. A lot of the Vee stuff was too contrived for me.

I think I would like this show 10x more if they just got rid of Piper. Release her, kill her off, whatever. She's far and away the weak link for me.

S4 needs to bring Nicky back too.

And what the hell was up with that NSA Storyline?
And Caputo banging Fig, the woman he hates isn't she married?

Do you mean Lolly "stalking" Alex? I don't think there is anything to the NSA part other than a swerve to the whole Alex being paranoid. Though I can see Lolly saving Alex from the hit.

Caputo and Figeuroa was him figuratively sleeping with the devil. He had no one else to talk to and her husband is gay.

Fig also points out that Caputo is really, really good at sex

This season has been like a slice of life.. in prison. Don't like Nicky though. She's even more white privilege than Piper. Very whiny rich brat who blames her troubles on others. Uses people and leaves her friends behind.

Just finished it. I thought it was a good season. A step up from season two. The moment where Piper turns into a fucking badass was great. I really enjoy the finale, I thought it was a nice touch.

Boo, Penns, Stella, and Crazy Eyes were my favorite characters this season. Especially Penns and Crazy Eyes. I think they have grown the most and have become so damn likeable.

Crazy eyes has always been great. She lost sympathy for her actions last season but she got then back this season.

My wife and I started watching OITNB about a month ago and tonight we finished season 3. I'll say, I didn't like Piper much early in the series and my dislike for her grew over time. That all changed towards the end of season 3 though; she was always a mean, terrible person, but now she is finally admitting it to herself and being openly awful. It fits her character really well. If you rewatch the series, you'll see that multiple times people call her out for being mean or terrible. So, it is great for that awfulness to finally break free.

Finished it finally. Took longer than usual because I found most of it to be so damn boring. The only people I cared about this season were Crazy Eyes, Pornstache, Pennsatucky, and Caputo. There wasn't much to like, but I did like very much that they got rid of Nicki, Piper's Husband, Daya's baby daddy(now kill her off).

When the most interesting person in the show is a guy that was only in the season for about 5 mins(pornstache), your show might not be very good.

This is pretty much following the Jenji curve though. Much like Weeds which had a solid first two seasons before devolving into mediocre contrived nonsense.

Enjoyed the season, probably a little more than the second season but only because Alex was there, really disappointed with how they ended the season but the
lake scene was great, maybe a little too long.

The Norma storyline.... awful.

Lake scene was like liberty, hah. The baptism is what got me. I feel like it should have been the very ending bit. Last minute and right through the credits. This season was a lot about growth, backstory, and development than action, though, so it was good to see Dayanara and her mother getting along at the end, and even Suzanne overcoming her sexual issues -- whatever that really was.

Norma storyline was awful. The toast was a joke, the "shrine sacrifices" of food items, everything. Norma basically became for those girls what her false Prophet was to her. On one hand its descpicable, on the other it was simply boring as all hell. The Amish girl made me want to bash my head into my keyboard more than once when it came to Norma.

This season convinced me that if I were to ever go back to religion, I'd convert to Judaism.

Just for broccoli?

The Norma storyline had no payoff. They just kept making the Amish girl more and more insufferable, I assumed to culminate in her getting her ass beat by either Soso, Poussey or even Norma herself. But instead nope. Just annoying shit that they are going have to waste even more time closing up next season. It started off fine but went on waaaaaay too long.

Everything else was fantastic, with the Boo and Pennsatucky storyline being the best. As a character, Aleida was the fucking worst. Such a horrible person that never realized how she was just making life worse for everyone.

Finally finished up the season. I liked parts of it but easily the season I've liked the least. Sophia's story in the season was weak and poorly built up among other things. Big Boo and Pennsatucky's friendship disappeared in the middle of the season. The Norma cult was largely a waste of time. Seems to me like a poorly planned out season.

Soso and Poussey is the only thing I'm looking forward to next season.

Love the show, but I'm not sure I need to see seven seasons of it.

Yeah, that's way too much. One more season would've been perfect. the plotting the last two seasons has been super meh, the likability and relationships between characters are the only thing keeping it going. Like, all the characters are just so much fun. But the story itself really has nowhere left to go.
