I wonder how many people or what percentage of the population truly do all this Facebook stuff. I have a facebook, but I explicitly use it for the purpose of keeping track of people's faces after I meet them--it was great when I joined before my first year of college.
And like Luke, I've never changed my status. I never update anything at all usually. If I were to run for president, they wouldn't find anything on me on Facebook or Twitter. I know people that spend basically the entire day on it, constantly updating their statuses, loading it up with applications, and that kind of thing.
From the perspective of a college student, I know I feel like I'm in the minority among my immediate demographic. But this is probably not an uncommon feeling; I know that the typical college student estimates that his peers drink and smoke more than they say they do personally (and what statistics actually reflect).
Considering that Facebook is supposedly the second most frequented site in the United States, I am trying to wrap my head around the number of people that use it hyperactively...I wouldn't be stunned if the number is much bigger than I imagine.
