I haven't listened to any of them yet. I'm saving myself for the game.

Listening to DKC/DKC2/DKR soundtracks in the meantime :)

He's only uploaded 55 songs and it's already 3h 55m... o_o
Yeah, a lot of those songs are like two in one, though (like the two halves of Wing Ding).

Like I was saying... What's six minutes out of 235 minutes (and counting) going to spoil? :p

@ Chad:

Don't forget the part where the lights flicker on and off, and we all go:

"Nosferatuuu!"

Really disappointed an Arctic Abyss remix wasn't made for this game, thought it'd be a shoe-in considering the Snowmads.

We must follow the Wise one. Look into your heart, you know it to be true.

OK, HOLD IT RIGHT THERE.

David Wise is amazing in al, but Pidgeot is Bird Jesus and a follower of the Order of Helix. He's also training his pupil the keeper to follow in his footsteps

Now back to the Wise worshipping

Have you guys listened the "High Tide Ride" music? Amazing. I love how it all cheery and happy and ends up dramatic and epic! I especially like the last part of it.

Have you see any video of that level, by any chance? It works incredibly well in context. If you like the music by itself, you'll love how it all comes together in-game. :)

I found a gamerip and im listening to the full soundtrack now (i assume its full), It has 57 different songs! Some very good ones not posted here too.

Edit: So, Yamamoto is also credited for this soundtrack so, how many songs he did? And which ones?

I'm glad Wise is back on track. SO GOOD!

I also had the chance to ask some questions to the man himself in 2012. Might be worth a read if you haven't already (clicky).

Yamamoto composed the original melody to the rocket barrel song, which receives like six remixes in this game, so there's that! (Great melody, too)

I seem to recall hearing something to the effect of Yamamoto serving as a sound supervisor... Maybe that's how Wise described it in the 42-minute audio interview I linked in the OP. It's a great interview -- give it a listen if you want to learn more about Wise. :)

EDIT: lol @ the post above me :-D

Also, you people with the zip file of the full soundtrack, if that's the one I've heard, it's quality isn't nearly as good as the YouTube links in this thread.

Gummb

Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about Rayman Legends Wii U.
6-2 is straight-up Hans Zimmer. It's actually a 'better' rendition of his work than Zimmer's own ghost writers. That's pretty nuts.

6-5, i'm getting a lot of yamamoto influence, mostly because it sounds like something from phendrana drifts.

That gif is perfect lol

Such a shame people will miss out on this great game because it's on Wii U
Yep. Since nobody has a WiiU, I'm hoping David Wise will take his music to the streets.

Just imagine this mad man slow-pimping down the street with his saxophone and flute.

All the people are like "Watch out, we gotta badass over here."

And Wise is all like, "Haters gonna hate, Wise gonna Wise."

You are right. The rip sounds too loud. Its labeled as "placeholder version" or something.

"Canopy Chaos" is so good, think it might top "In The Situation Room" from Broken Age for my favourite piece of game music this year.

A note about the Fear Factory remix -- the uploader, Piplup, said in the comments section that the new upload -still- isn't perfect. He tried to fix it... at least the right headphone has sound in it now!

Personally I find it catchy and good but not my favorite ost. (Though the composer is pretty good. Got me nostalgic)
Good and catchy. This is the least favorable "review" so far. I guess "good" is the worst thing one can say about David Wise, its the lowest he can go.

This really sounds like Wise had a million amazing DKC tunes building up in his head through these years and just put them all in this soundtrack. I'm blown away by the constant quality considering this is such a massive OST.

It's easy to hear Yamamoto's input in some of the tracks too which is nice. Their styles seems to go along nicely.

Punch Bowl is the theme song of the Captain Falcon stylish character action game that hasn't been made yet.

Something I've noticed about that track...the mixing of the "chorus" (starts at 0:48) is a bit interesting to me. You have guitar, synth, and drums going at the same time but they're all clearly separated. You have drums in the middle channel, synth in the left channel and guitar in the right channel, so nothing overlaps - it's all very clear. What does this mean? Hell if I know, but it sounds neat :l

Im going to take my time with each level for this music to sink in.

Surprised we still don't know the name of the Big Bad (or do we).

Also, because I didn't want your observation about the World 5 boss theme to be buried on the last page:

Yessssss

Oh wait a sec, it says the name of the final boss in the description --
Lord Frederick
. :)

Wikipedia:
Frederick is a masculine given name meaning "peaceful ruler." (!!!!!!!!!!!!) It is the English form of the German name Friedrich. Its meaning is derived from the Germanic word elements frid, or peace, and ric, meaning "ruler" or "power.

Retro, you sly doges.
