No longer boycotting the Wolfenstein franchise
Strong sendoff for Peter Gregory and Christopher Evan Welch. Everything dealing with that handled it really well on both fronts.

Gavin Belson is a sociopath. "I don't want to live in a world where someone else makes the world a better place better than we do."

Pretty good return. I enjoyed it much more than any of the early episodes from last season. I still can't stand the lead character, but the supporting cast is fun.

Really great season premier, the investor neggin sequence is my favorite behind the jerk off metrics from last season's finale.

Can;t wait for more

Good stuff. I expected GoT to start off slow, but this show's opener was much better than I expected. Looking forward to the season!

Not impressed. Wasn't a lot of funny moments, too much emphasis in Richard, and shoehorning a female Peter Gregory into this doesn't seem like the way to go. Hopefully they just struggled with the actors death and can move past the story arch now.

Great premiere. I thought they handled the death of Christopher Evan Welch really well by basically just acknowledging it rather than trying to spin a storyline that necessarily has him disappear.

Yeah, whenever they talk about the compression technology, it's either nonsense or mathematically impossible. It's not really show ruining though because they treat it like a MacGuffin and don't take it very seriously.

I wonder if the new actor they got had actually auditioned for the original role and was one of their alternate choices. I think she's great.

I agree I gave up on the show after episode 4 but if it wasn't for this thread I wouldn't have watch the last 4. The second half of the first season and really the last episode shit on the first few episodes.

I thought it was an okay premiere, but definitely didn't laugh nearly as much as I did with the last few episodes of last season (which I rewatched just recently). I'd be happy if this show was just Gilfoyle and Dinesh sitting in a room coding and trading blows. The early reviews say this is stronger than last season so hoping that matches up as it goes on.

Few comments:
-Erlich is an absolutely legendary character, so damn funny.
-Peter's death story was insane.
-Looks like they are going to be fleshing out Monica as a character more, good to see.

Yup, really great episode overall. I like how they spearheaded the death of Peter Gregory and the drastic change in management that happens afterwards. His new replacement Laurie Bream is great, very cold and ruthless without really showing it. Quite the opposite. The character Monica starts to show some actual depth here and moves out of cardboard cut out love interest territory. Richard and Erlich really highlight a lot of great scenes too with trying to find some new offers for their company, and some nice back and forth comedy between the characters Dinesh and Bertram.

Overall, this is a good start to season 2 and picks up the slack a bit from season 1. I honestly felt like the end of season 1 was a little lackluster in some ways (maybe this is just me?), but it was also understandable given that one of the main supporting cast members sadly died and they had to write around his characters absence in the show. The start of this season makes some nice bold decisions right of the bat and organizes itself out.

Can't wait for episode 2 of this season.

Hilarious episode!! I loved Richard spewing everything from Erlich's pep-talk in the wrong order when he went in to give those first investors a piece of his mind. So good. Can't wait to see the rest of this season!!

Based on the preview for next next episode,
I wouldn't be surprised if Gilfoyle and Dinesh accidently reveal the compression algorithm to a room filled with lawyers/competitors.

Having ostensibly written around Welch’s passing for the back third of season one – attributing Peter’s absence to an overseas business expedition – Judge and his co-producers and writers realized they needed to address Gregory’s whereabouts more concretely in season two in order to move the story forward [spoilers ahead]. The result was Sunday night’s tribute to both Welch and the role he imbued so colorfully, complete with yarns about hippo invasions and a funeral scene featuring Welch (as Gregory) projected on massive screens overhead. That, and the addition of Suzanne Cryer (she of Seinfeld­-ian “yada yada yada” lore) as new Raviga managing partner Laurie Bream, a bizarre-o, OCD analog to her predecessor Gregory. Executive Producer Alec Berg, who co-wrote the premiere, talked with us about balancing humor and pathos, distinguishing Laurie from Peter, and thir plot pivot.

Loved the episode. I died when Dinesh line when standing on the field of the World Series Champions.

Amazing premiere. There were a lot of good jokes, CTO talk and Snapchat joke were the best.
It actually was the real CEO of Snapchat in the end.

Hilarious episode and an awesome opener to the season. Died laughing during the investor trash talk sequence. Kept rewinding to watch it again and again. So fucking good.

Best episode of the entire show outside of season one's finale IMO. Excited for next week now.

You could see the bar scene from a mile away but I still loved it. Everyone has really settled into their roles. Great opener all around, though I need more of the Gilfoyle and Dinesh hate/love frustration.
