I post too much in this thread.

Plinko, your constant Walker slams are a source of day brightening.

Any chance I get to slam Walker or post a disapraging article about his terrible campaign, I take. The guy would easily be the most dangerous president of the bunch.

Who do you think you would outpoll the easiest if your name was randomly put into a poll.

Bobby Jindal, Lindsey Graham or Lincoln Chafee?

I think I could take Graham at least.

Who was that pollster that put fake candidates in a poll? I can't remember.

“White House officials insult the Prime Minister of Israel. Sadly, they never seem to criticize the Iranian Supreme Leader and the Revolutionary Guard commanders who have oppressed the people of Iran and helped kill thousands of our soldiers in Iraq.”

“Now is not the time for untested leadership. I have been tested like no other candidate in this race."

Islamic terrorists are "most likely" smuggling themselves across U.S.-Mexico border

The world that Scott Walker is apparently living in is breath-taking.

It was PPP.

http://www.theatlantic.com/politics...y-farris-is-not-running-for-president/393443/
Pity Emily Farris. Republican primary voters just don’t like her very much.

In a survey released on Wednesday, Public Policy Polling found that Farris near the bottom of the GOP field. She polled well behind fellow Texans Rick Perry and Ted Cruz. Just 3 percent of voters had formed a favorable opinion of her, while 20 percent reported unfavorable views. Only embattled New Jersey Governor Chris Christie faced a wider gap.

And Farris isn’t even running. She’s a political science professor at Texas Christian University, whose name was included within the enormous field of Republican hopefuls as a statistical control. “It’s a little surreal to think that 20 percent of Republican primary voters have a negative opinion of you, when they most likely don’t know you,” she told me.

Farris’s unlikely journey from scholar to subject of political polling began with a PPP poll of Iowa voters, in April, that included Michigan Governor Rick Snyder. Paul Egan, a reporter for the Detroit Free Press, called up PPP director Tom Jensen to make sense of the results. Snyder, Jensen told him, was effectively unknown. “If I had polled you for favorability with Iowa Republicans, you would come out with the same number he did,” Jensen said.

He put that proposition to the test in PPP’s next poll, of Arizona Republicans. It turned out that Jensen had been mistaken. Snyder was viewed favorably by 5 percent of respondents; Egan, the reporter, actually outpolled him with 6 percent support.

Farris, who teaches an upper-level class on polling, was puzzled by the inclusion of an unfamiliar name. PPP explained its logic. “Well, next time throw my name in the poll as someone with no national profile,” she tweeted to PPP. “It'll amuse my Survey Research students.” And then, on Thursday, she spotted reporters trying to figure out why a quarter of Republican voters had opinions about “Emily Farris,” when they’d never heard of her.

It’s well-established that voters will volunteer views concerning wholly fictitious issues or candidates. One landmark study asking voters for their opinions on the Public Affairs Act of 1975 found a third of them willing to voice opinions on the non-existent statute. Subsequent surveys have replicated that result. Voters can be reluctant to confess ignorance, or conflate invented laws or candidates with real ones.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/11/survey-questions-fiction_n_2994363.html
As they do on many obscure policy issues, Americans polarize sharply along partisan lines when they learn that President Barack Obama supports a repeal of the 1975 Public Affairs Act. Republicans are over 10 times more likely to disagree with the president on this issue than are Democrats.

..

In answer to the initial question, 15 percent offered an opinion -- 9 percent agreed that the fictitious law should be repealed and 6 percent disagreed -- while 85 percent chose "unsure."

That question, which began by informing respondents that "some people say the 1975 Public Affairs Act should be repealed," produced just a hint of partisanship. Democrats were only slightly less likely to agree than independents or Republicans that the law should be repealed, although given the sample size of 334 respondents, the differences between the subgroups were far too small to be considered statistically significant.

But the two alternative questions, each asked of separate samples of more than 600 respondents, made the partisan connection more explicit. When informed that "President Obama says" the 1975 Public Affairs Act should be repealed, 39 percent of Republicans expressed disagreement, compared to just 3 percent of Democrats. When informed that "the Republicans in Congress" want to repeal the act, 28 percent of Democrats disagreed compared to just 4 percent of Republicans.

Finally, we asked all of our respondents what they thought the Public Affairs Act was about. Far more thought it was "an attempt to reduce lavish fundraisers by elected officials" (11 percent) than believed it to be "a requirement that all members of Congress hire public affairs firms" (3 percent) or "a ban on extramarital affairs by members of Congress" (3 percent). The rest either opted for "none of the above" (20 percent) or were uncertain (64 percent).

9 per cent of Brits say the Public Affairs Act 1975 should be repealed, and 9 per cent say it shouldn’t, according to a new poll by YouGov.

Only a few more weeks of the Summer of Sanders guys. Did you all have fun? Cuz things are just getting started.

Up next:

Fall of Clinton. Hillary Clinton loses front-runner status to Bernie.
Winter of Warren. Elizabeth Warren endorses Bernie and starts to campaign with him.
Lord of the Spring: Bernie secures enough delegates to claim the Democratic nomination.
Summer of Sanity: Bernie leads the national polls by 20 percent over his Republican opponent.
Fall of the Wall: The electorate tears down the Republican wall by flipping both chambers of congress.
Winter of Winning: Bernie and Elizabeth take the keys to the White House and save our planet.

Just a really dumb one.

To clarify, I do genuinely believe that Erasure thinks that Bernie Sanders is Jesus.

But it's pretty clear that he's now just saying increasingly stupid shit purely for attention.

Trump is gaining ground with black voters. Former NFL running back and darling of GA football fans, Herschel Walker has voiced his support for the Republican frontrunner.

An old associate of my mother, who is black, has stated that she will be voting for Trump. Simply because of his stance of immigration. It was during this revelation that she stated she hated illegal immigrants, and hopes President Trump will deport them on his first day of the job...

Scott Walker said today, repeatedly, that he will use ground troops against ISIS.

Why is everyone in the GOP going in on this.

This campaign point makes absolutely no sense. I mean, maybe GOP voters are dumb enough to buy it, but it makes no sense.

All Trump will have to do is point out that ground troops would benefit almost nothing during the debate and Walker will look like an idiot.

WASHINGTON -- Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R), a staunch advocate of beefing up security on the southern border, said Sunday he is open to building a wall on the U.S. border with Canada as well.

The Republican presidential candidate said the idea of building a northern wall was brought up to him during a recent town hall in New Hampshire.

"That is a legitimate issue for us to look at," Walker said Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press."

Well, I mean, I guess this ridiculous isolationism is less directly racist?

It's not a legitimate issue because it's stupid, and a "fiscal conservative" should be ashamed they wish to waste tax payer dollars this way. Do we want to become North Korea? Do they not realize that's how they sound?

Spending $20 billion to $60 billion to look like the country version of the weird dude who hoards guns and ammo in his basement is totally worth it tho.

Trump is basically making everyone else say crazier and crazier things. It's amazing to watch.

"Small government and saving taxpayer money" sounds hilarious as a GOP talking point when I read stuff like this.

We can use all the infrastructure jobs we can find, in this shitty economy especially. Building a wall would create jobs.

Hiring people to dig holes and then fill in those same holes would also create as many jobs and provide more benefit to the United States.

We should hire people to break and then repair windows also.

It makes sense, when I found his old obsessed with Kucinich threads I discovered he is obsessed with all those weird animeish Japanese rpgs no one knows exists, like he claimed Xenogears is a work of art and the like. Seemed really fitting actually.

The trick is to tell people that the holes they're filling in were dug by some idiots who couldn't follow instructions properly. Set up enough hole digging/filling spots around the country, and rotate work crews around. Creates a positive psychological effect!
