It might be working as intended. The gift card counts toward the $100 total, but you don't get a discount applied to it. So if you get two games at $48 each and a $5 gift card, you'll only get a $24 discount.

Well that explains my second question of why it was only $24 discount. Thanks. That's fine for an order coming in at exactly $100.99 with the gift card I guess.

Thing stopping me from going for more switch games like Xenoblade 2 is hoping for special editions.
at $39 shipped per game, even if they do announce a special edition you can always just sell the standard for like $45 at launch to make the cost back if you order a SE.

Preordered lots of games last time this was available, so I didn't need to preorder much this time. Just added an order of State of Decay 2 (don't think this was available to preorder during the last Visa Checkout promo, or maybe I missed it), then went with Super Mario Odyssey for Switch, even though I have no idea when I'll end up buying a Switch. Oh well, Nintendo games hold their value really well, so as long as I get a Switch by sometime in 2018, I can justify it.
Oh, and really glad I preordered Spiderman PS4 the last time this deal was available, because it's not available for preorder this time.

I have in my cart right now Horizon Zero Dawn, Mario Kart 8 for Switch and South Park Fractured But Whole for the PS4..is Horizon Zero Dawn kind of like Uncharted 4 if it is then I will go ahead and buy it just wasn't sure..what do you all think of that game??

Ended up using it to grab 1 2 Switch, BOTW, and the Zelda amiibo for about $80 thanks to GCU. At least this might lighten the dent in my wallet a tiny bit...

Don't go crazy and it wont be an issue. No one has gotten banned for two orders. Now someone doing 10-20 orders I could see a ban.
I didn't read any fine print. I put in two orders. If they ban my account for some fine print that I didn't read then I'll just stop using visa check out. Oh well.
They should set up their system to only give you the discount once if they don't want you to get it twice.
it's possible but as long as you don't go super crazy it should be fine.
the vast majority of people who complain about their account being banned on slick deals violate GCU terms of ordering more than 3 copies of the same game.
best buy is swift with their bans for anyone that abuses GCU. (you are allowed up to 3 copies of a game with discount, order a 4th and you might get banned)

Just placed an order for Mario Kart 8(Switch), the Best Buy 5 dollar gift card, and South Park Fractured but whole..it only gave me the savings when I used my discover card..but when I tried going back to my best buy credit card it deducted the savings, can I ONLY get the discount if I use an AMEX or discover card? my best buy credit card does NOT have an expiration date

I put in 22 orders last time the deal was live, zero problems. Ended up cancelling about half of them but they were in the order system for 3-4 weeks. Just don't order more than 3 of any game, and avoid multiple orders of any stuff that might be misconstrued as reseller fodder - multiple Switches or Zelda SE's for example.
After a few orders your credit card will probably start declining orders as well (fraud alert), a few of mine got authorization failure errors a day or two later but resubmitting the credit card info worked just fine.
I do have a best buy credit card and GCU and elite+ but I don't think those things really factor in.
I didn't place any orders this time around, probably going to cancel my switch pre order so why bother pre ordering games for it. Hasn't really been any other new games that have gone up since the deal went live. The Horizon Zero Dawn CE is pretty nice, drops to like $78+tax, also things like gold editions of games (South Park, Ghost Recon Wildlands) are pretty good deals but with the velocity of Ubisoft games going on sale this holiday season I think all those deals will be even better later this year.
I have a best buy visa card, works fine. It definitely has an expiration date, not sure how you have a credit card without one. Make sure you are using visa checkout, not best buy checkout, in the cart page. Thats the most common mistake to not getting the $25 discount. The other is not having $100 minimum in the cart, while the last time it would prorate $95+ this time it requires $100.

I want to take advantage of this deal but I don't have GCU yet and there are an awful lot of horror stories from people who signed up for GCU online instead of in-store.
Worked fine for me and I've ordered it online 3 times now.

Yeah my best buy card is a credit card but its not a visa just shows the credit card number, membership number underneath(Says Best Buy Elite member at the top) and on the back has the three digit pin and thats it
How long does it usually take for GCU to activate? I made an order that included a membership, and now I have to wait until it kicks in to do another.
Also, I am sort of regretting cancelling my Amazon pre-order of GR2 now that I remember that it only seems like Amazon has the pre-order bonuses.

Good combo with their free $10 they sent me, probably settling for MLB 17 MVP and Mass Effect.. can't really decide between that or South Park, but at least Mass Effect has a release date and Horizon got preordered last time around. Wish they had the $10 preorder bonus, would be a no brainer on some games.
edit: nm i forgot South Park is ubi and they love to put their games on sale quick, so MLB + Mass Effect seems like a no brainer, even goes over the $100 threshold.

I've got bad news for you....
Got Yakuza 0, Nioh, Nier, and Persona 5. I was 100 %getting all of them anyway, nice to save another ~10 bucks per game(after taxes).
Are you using a mastercard? I had a problem with my Yakuza 0, Nioh order(was the first order, though), the page would fade out and, after a little bit, a faded out box would appear asking for a mastercard securecode. I couldn't click on anything, but I could tab tab way through the text box and the submit button.

So far on CAG they said that most of the accounts that were banned were people ordering multiple copies of the game in separate orders. As long as you order 1 copy of each game only, your OK and won't be flagged. People abused the system particularly flippers hence why BB is hawish on the sales.

If you end up with a failed authorization on the card you used during the promotion,
you lose the Visa discount. This just happened to one of my orders where one game shipped and the other needed a different payment method and when I saw it was charging me the full amount (well with Gamers Club still applied)

I highly doubt it. No one should be banned for what is their mistake. Best Buy still want your money so they'll either cancel extra orders or let you keep your orders.

I wasn't planning on buying RE7 anytime soon but with my $10 off coupon plus GCU, I was able to get that, Horizon and Yakuza 0 for $116. That's crazy!

I've never played a Dragon Quest game before so I'm not sure if adding DQVIII to my cart to push me over $100 is a good idea. Is is good for a beginner? Or should I go for VII instead?
