While I like her ideas and what she stands, Warren is a pompous ass.

Have you ever overseen a trillion dollar loan program?

I have not. And neither have you so what makes you qualified to pick the person that does?

Warren was a bankruptcy specialist and some how did that with out ever going through one. How could she be an expert in something she has no experience in?

Devos is an idiot but just ask tough direct questions not these pandering bullshit story build up questions.

DeVos is shitty regardless of who asked questions by the way.
•Kaine: “If confirmed, will you insist upon equal accountability in any K-12 school or educational program that receives taxpayer funding whether public, public charter or private?”
•DeVos: “I support accountability.”
•Kaine: “Equal accountability?”
•DeVos: “I support accountability.”
•Kaine: “Is that a yes or a no?”
•DeVos: “I support accountability.”
•Kaine: “Do you not want to answer my question?”
•DeVos: “I support accountability.”
•Kaine: “Let me ask you this. I think all schools that receive taxpayer funding should be equally accountable. Do you agree?”
•DeVos: “Well they don’t, they are not today.”
•Kaine: “Well, I think they should. Do you agree with me?"
•DeVos: “Well, no.”

Seriously read and watch, she is as garbage as can be and was absolutely defended to the fullest by the GOP through a ton of fuckery.

She's the one who defended guns in schools because GRIZZLY BEARS btw.

The most memorable moment, though, came when DeVos said local officials should decide whether to allow guns in schools. Mentioning rural Wyoming, she said: “I would imagine there’s probably a gun in the school to protect from potential grizzlies.” An incredulous Chris Murphy, the Connecticut senator who represents parents that lost children at Newtown’s Sandy Hook Elementary in 2012, asked whether she will support Trump if he follow through on his promise to ban gun-free school zones. “I will support what the president-elect does,” she replied.

Sanders also destroyed her. What a great pick from Trump.
Youtube suggests many other videos of her answers, I am sure they are not even decent. None of them.

DeVos is shitty regardless of who asked questions by the way.

Every person who questioned her whether it was franken, kaine, warren, or sanders, she'd alway try to repurpose the question..

"If what you're asking is..."
"If i'm understanding you correctly..."

I know jack shit about running for political office and all of the questions they asked were super straight foward. I was genuinely waiting for someone to just be like if you can't even understand the questions let alone be able to actually answer them, you're grossly unqualified and down right incompetent

I couldn't believe the gun thing came out of her mouth. My mind is still blown. Like WTF kinda answer is that. Any normal person would just say "Yes, guns should be banned in all schools"

I think she lacks the proficiency to properly answer the question. She needs to work on her growth

I do find it amusing how the guy does a mild double take when she says it's up to the state.

Have you ever been in a school as an adult?

Yes, I have.

Okay, that's a start. Did you like it?

Yes.

What did you like about it?

The...young things inside.

The children?

Yes, I believe that is what they are called.

I watched this. So apparently is this just a formality? I mean these confirmations hearings pretty are there to "grill" the proposed candidate?

That's a pretty common interview tactic for padding out the initial part of a response so you can start talking without actually saying anything, allowing you to start answering immediately but still have time to think about what you're going to say.

That said, what's impressive is the more time she's given to think about her answers, the worse they seem to become. Maybe there's a choking human intellect locked somewhere inside her vacuous skull that reflexively wants to give non-insane answers, but after strangling it down for a minute or two she remembers the moronic party line.

Either way, she's hilariously unqualified, which should be disqualifying even before taking into consideration that her opinions are also amazingly bad.

TAJ

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
and she's still easily getting approved, it was sad to watch, not the least bit humorous

Why do we even have a confirmation process anymore if there's no way to get rejected?

Committees are meant to approve or deny a nomination prior to the senate formal vote. As we're seeing with Tillerson though.

.@SenBobCorker just told @mkraju Trump Sec. of State pick Rex Tillerson will get a Senate floor vote whether committee approves him or not.

The GOP is apparently pushing them through anyway. Regardless, nominees are grilled and expected to hold fast to the promises they proposed during the process.

She and her family give $10 million to conversion therapy? HOLYSHIT!!!

No, she gave $10 million to Focus on the Family, an organization that supports many different positions, one of which is conversion therapy.

Most of its positions are deplorable in all the usual ways (anti-gay, anti-trans, anti-abortion, anti-evolution), but to pidgeonhole a donation to them as a donation to conversion therapy is inaccurate.

I ended up binging a lot of the interview sections, at least the good ones, and she manages to avoid nearly every single question thrown at her.

Why are conservatives in US politics full on fuckwits??? Why do they always go full nutjob??? Why does it always have to be pro guns, anti abortion, anti gay, anti trans, anti science, anti evolution, anti climate change, anti maternity leave? When can we see a high profile republican be, say, anti abortion, pro guns but not against science or fucking evolution??? I swear this sort of bullshit only happens in the United States. We have our fair share of corrupt asshole in our government (Mexico) but I cant remember the last time we had a politician that publicly has said they dont believe in evolution, science or climate change.

Lmao, Warren calling out Trump on his "fake university". Warren needed to repeat her questions, and DeVos still stumbles like a kid who didn't read the assignment.

I'm afraid she's still gonna get confirmed though. :(

There is, it's just exceedingly rare and it ain't gonna happen with a GOP Congress

If the Democrats find their collective nuts, Tillerson might not get the position... Because there are enough Republicans against him- Doesn't take too many when the seats are as close as they are.

Everyone else is almost guaranteed.

I'm going to use a phrase that's become quite common to describe my opinion: A distinction without a difference.

This is frustrating as hell. Another frustrating aspect is all the "destroyed" and "blasted" videos don't seem to have an impact other than going viral.

lol at this dude

The ironic thing is Tillerson is ultimately one of the least objectionable names on the docket. You know we're just going to end up with John fucking Bolton then.

Right? And so many seem utterly unqualified for any of their positions.

Why do I even bother working hard and trying to do things the proper way in life when I can just show up and act like an imbecile who didn't even read the assignment instead? (I know, the answer is "money")

We're all so fucked :/

I like the smile on DeVos' face during that clip.

It's basically like, "nooooooobody careeeeeeessss!"

she knows she's getting through. she's just putting in the time.

Juarez had the foresight to separate state and church in the constitution the liberals of his era crafted. That alone gave us secular education obligatory and state mandated. No church was alowed to made their own programs (that is until fucking salinas de gortari) and all of us were educated under the same books, same teachings and same assignments.

Also, compared with fundamentalist christian sects, the catholic church is WAAAY more progresive in come issues like the ones you mention (evolution and the like)

The more and more I watch Sen. Elizabeth Warren in these hearing the more I think she should never run for president. She's so important where she is right now

I thought they wanted to "make America great again."

Hillary has experience in government but she handled it pretty poorly. I'd rather have someone who has no experience than someone who has and do it poorly consistently
That's one of the comments there. That's probably all they want, people with no experience or idea on how to do their job.

All of these confirmations will go through. Blame Democrats for getting cocky thinking they were winning in 2016 and voting in a law where you don't need 60 votes for confirmation anymore.

She's a bulldog like no other, man.

It's a great style to have.

The key is to know your opponent well, and to ask them questions you already know the answer to so they have to admit to what you're trying to pick apart. I've used he style very effectively in meetings.
