NFL 2017 Offseason thread |OT2| - I Mean Look What Our Teams Did For Us!

I never left the Gophers! There's no conflict! There's no rivalry if both teams suck!
Hmmm

Maybe we should go for a NFL-GAF ruling on this one. Hypothetically, if a Lions fan decides to become a Browns fan ("my AFC team!"), is it ok to be a two-teamer because both teams suck?

Didn't know there were two threads

@danwiederer

Notable: Asked about being a HC handling a face-of-franchise rookie QB, John Fox said he's talked to his friend Jeff Fisher about it.

You have my blessing

He was our best pass rusher before he got hurt halfway through the season. Our scheme has a speedier, hybrid DE/OLB type of guy that's a designated pass rusher line up on the defense's right side, kind of like the LEO end in Seattle's scheme.

He was having a really good year until he got hurt, but he dropped so far because he had been playing behind some other NFL guys in previous years and so there isn't a lot of tape on him. His best game was probably vs. Stanford this past season.

Hhmmm. Sounds like the exact opposite of what we need, odd. He was supposedly signing with Dallas but backed out and came here instead. Must be that Vrabel factor. Thanks

How did my eagles do on day 3? Don't know anything about these guys.

Any good players/udfa?

Pretty good. Two WRs that are fast and not much else but superb STers. One of them is tall as hell like DGB but is a crazy hard worker. Not the RB I wanted but he's got the production and is kinda like a mini sproles. DT taken in the 6th was a 3rd round talent that slipped because he can't keep his weight under control. And Corey Clement is a promising UDFA RB. Some potential there

The Bucs drafted zero offensive lineman in this draft, unless you can count OJ Howard's blocking ability. That is a lot of faith in a line that was subpar last season.

I think he had four sacks in that game alone. Stanford consistently recruits five-star guys on OL, too. If he can recover fully I believe he can be a legit player in the league.

If he lives up to that write up I linked and joins that Texans front 7 pass rush. Lord!

Yup, it'll be gross. He'll get to learn from guys like Watt and Clowney too. Great situation for him.

Just finished watching the Gruden QB Camp on Josh Dobbs. Smart kid. Gruden gave him the gears a bit and asked him if he wanted to be a Terrelle Pryor at the next level. Dobbs insisted on being a QB. Showed good undertsanding of play construction on the board. High character guy, which the Steelers focused on in this draft specifically. Gruden made some comparisons to Dak Prescott - can't take that too seriously as it's easy to make comparisons (and we need to see another good season out of Prescott before we can say he's arrived).

I truly believe the Steelers' intent with Dobbs is for him to be the guy when Ben inevitably hangs it up. Smart guy, can physically make the throws, proven hard worker, and will sit behind Ben and learn. Steelers QB coach Randy Fitchner didn't outright say any of this, but I feel he did hint at it in Dobbs intro interview when he said he's only done the new QB thing once before in 10 years (Landry).

RIP Landry Jones

See Deebo welcoming our boy TJ??

Steelers gotta be thanking their lucky stars that Deebo (and Porter) are still with the team with TJ drafted. Dude isn't like Jarvis, he has a high potential ceiling - this season will be critical.

So will the offseason. I expect to see TJ in the background of many of Harrison's workout videos (you almost NEVER saw Jarvis Jones in them).

Gaf is too extremist. They call everyone a nazi. Actually, how did that whole nazi thing start? Nazis just started replicating suddenly I suppose. Those kooky nazis.

Have there been any Kas posts about how good Brad Kaaya is?

Uhhhhh, pretty sure he had a 34 on the Wonderlic. Which is good enough for best QB score in the draft and only 4 points behind Stafford's. Which makes Kaaya the best QB in this draft, by far.

So really, I think the post will write itself

Just now on ESPN, Adam Schefter said an NFL personnel director told him to put it in the books that Josh Allen will be the No. 1 pick in '18

FIRE UP THE 2018 MOCKS GUYS.

Pls. The Browns aren't taking a sure thing at qb.

It was a really weak draft for it.

Giants did grab one in the 6th and a few UDFA's. Be nice if one or two can stick.

Happy Sunday!

@AdamSchefter: Bills have fired their GM Doug Whaley.

Wowwww what

Rumors have been swirling about this since yesterday. Apparently, Panthers assistant GM Brandon Beane might be the only name on the shortlist to replace Whaley.

Buffalo is now Panthers North!
