Toonami |SepOct17| 1 + 1 = YEAH!

I watched Baby Driver (got the Blu-Ray since I had $21.75 in credit at Vintage Stock and wanted to get the movie anyway) recently and that is definitely one of my favorite, if not my favorite, films I've seen this year that has come out.

I could definitely tell it was an Edgar Wright film (love his films). Such a great film. I definitely recommend watching it if you can.

3rd favorite movie of the year so far (behind Dunkirk and 2049).

The Cards Against Humanity anime would be even better

I'd watch that.

I haven't seen those two yet. Just remembering what's come out this year is shocking as I know some films came out this year, but it didn't feel like they did. Mainly with releases early in the year like Logan and Get Out (both of them in my top films this year).

*Breathes a sigh of relief that the Holoween marathon is not Tokyo Ghoul*. Not that'd I'd watch it either way, I ain't a fan of marathons.

I guess we'll do a Halloween marathon no matter when the actual day lands? (Next year Oct 31 is on a Wednesday.)

Also I forgot that last year we didn't have a Thanksgiving marathon, for some reason.

New end dates taking into account this marathon, but not assuming any others:

Attack on Titan S2 (rerun): October 14
Lupin the 3rd: December 30
Outlaw Star: February 24, 2018
Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans (Season 2): March 31, 2018
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig: April 14, 2018
Dragonball Z Kai: The Final Chapters: May 26, 2018
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders: July 7, 2018
Hunter x Hunter: June 20, 2019
Naruto Shippuden: December 23, 2023
Dragon Ball Super: ┐(ツ)┌

If I recall, part of the reason was a show needed to end in Dec. so that way, Unicorn could premiere right at the beginning of the year, but they didn't realize that after airing the Halloween marathon, so they probably said "we'll just have to forgo the thanksgiving marathon"

Also bummer, this could've been the perfect time to do a Jojo marath.....*remembers the ship episode would reair*..........okay maybe a Jojo marathon in Dec.

I'd put the chances that Toonami or Shippuden getting cancelled higher than that show running till 2023, especially given the endless amount of filler that is ahead.

TBH, since we're already past the only half decent arc for god knows how long, I'd be cool with them cancelling it and replacing it with Boruto, or w/e.

I don't even think Naruto fans are that interested at this point, all of them have moved onto the next series.

I have a gut feeling that when Boruto finally gets dubbed, Hulu is going to wind up getting the exclusive rights.

Just replace it with fucking Black Clover. Nobody would even notice the difference. Hell get the original HxH anime in that slot.

Yeah I don't think anybody would really care if Naruto was One Piece'd

But if Viz is allowing Toonami to air it for cheap, they might just keep it there so they never have to worry about that timeslot even if Naruto is bad.

That's if this incarnation of Toonami actually lasts that long.

I'm sure it will, [AS] seems fine with anime airing on saturday nights in general and Toonami is perfect branding for it, AS Anime was always a placeholder block anyways. we don't have the looming threat of CN anymore or it's dumb decisions for the block, DeMarco calls the shots for Toonami now not some dumbass exec who wants to air Hamtaro.

the only way I can see Toonami going down again is if streaming becomes such a dominant force that TV in its entirety just becomes a non existent medium.

Yeah
Tobi used Mangekyo to trap Naruto and Sakura in an alternate dream world
That's dumb but works as an excuse I guess

There is still stuff that makes no sense like when
did alt Naruto went rogue and got super powerful because his parents or anyone didn't seem to notice

And what happened to alt sakura

Alt Sasuke needs to be canon

Logan, John Wick 2, and Lost City Of Z are up there too.

I'm the last person on Earth who hasn't seen Get Out (miraculously I haven't been spoiled much either). I've also not seen Your Name, but I've been pushing that back as I'm not a fan of Shinkai.

I have seen... (Checks list) 40 movies in theaters this year. This year has been super mixed- the summer fucking SUCKED. I got to see a ton of Anime movies in theaters- Ghost in a Shell, Your Name (in both languages), One Piece Gold, Yugioh Dark Side of Dimensions, SAO, Castle of Cagliostro.... it's been such a treat.

Summer was down a bit to me too since that's normally when everything comes out. I think the only movies I saw this summer were Guardians Vol. 2, Alien Covenant (I know...) and It Comes At Night. I saw Spiderman recently outside the theater, just like Baby Driver. The last movie I saw in theater after It Comes At Night was mother!, which was about two to three weeks ago.

I've been to nowhere near as much movies as you have this year as I've mostly watched stuff on Blu-Ray or Netflix/VUDU (my older brother has an account he shares).

If I exclude Rifftrax, I think I've seen FOUR movies in theaters this year. Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Spider-Man, Lego Batman, & Your Name.

Hell, I can't even remember the others if I've seen more, let alone what came out this year. I had to go to Wiki & remind myself "...oh right, that was this year...& I saw that"

Only two movies that I can think of that I truly want to see are the sequels to Pacific Rim & Wreck-It Raplh.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
Moviepass means I go to the movies about once a week. Sometimes I'll go on a weekday night if I have nothing else going on. I've seen most everything big that's out. Blade Runner 2049 is the real deal. Stronger is pretty good but kind of emotionally manipulative even if its a true story. Don't bother with American Assassin.
