Did you think the same thing when they were down 3-0 to the Bruins? The Flyers were 3-0 against this team in the regular season with Bryz, so they must be able to beat them. They look slow and they are getting out worked, I think they can fix both but they need to come out and want it. The Devils are not this much better then the Pens, the Flyers can beat them but getting out shot by 20 isnt going to get it down.

I knew you were going to bring that up. I can't remember the bruins shutting us down like this and making it so clear that there's obviously something wrong with the way we're playing. Plus, the bruins probably had the better team than us.

You could easily blame our #1 problem, the goalie in that series. In this game, bryz stood on his head and we couldn't get it done. None of those goals were his fault this game.

The noticeable things:
- can't get it out of the zone
- can't sustain any pressure
- players don't seem into it/ready

it's not the bruins series where it was:
- LOL GOALTENDING

Elliot only faces 18 shots and still fucks it up.

He would have got lighten the fuck up if he was playing behind our defense, we allow the most shots on net.

And yeah I wouldn't be surprised if more than half of the teams in the league turn into a trap team for next season, this is a league of copy cats and seeing how the last 4 teams in the playoffs are trap teams, more coaches will try to implement the system, especially the crappy ones.

Full credit to the Kings for getting past the top two seeds, but they've been lucky that their lineup is healthy. A healthy Daniel Sedin would've made a difference, as would have Halak. Was Pietrangelo 100%?

It also makes me wonder about Elliott's play. During the season perhaps he was more rested and had less pressure on him with a safety net in Halak, but when Halak got injured he needed to be the guy and couldn't be. Though I can't compare Elliott to Schneider, I wonder how the latter will perform if his safety net is traded (Luongo) as well. It makes a big difference to start one big game and then have a few days off, as opposed to big game after big game (though Schneider did really well in Games 3-5 vs. LA).

Stop shitting on my team. Start shitting on my finger.
I've never had any hate towards Phoenix, and I certainly don't understand it coming from others. Their style of play? Sure, I get that. Otherwise? No, not really.

I don't like that the hate is coming from Canadian hockey fans mostly.

I think the feeling that the hate is coming mostly from Canadian hockey fans is that Canada feels more strongly about an American team moving (back) to Canada. Makes sense, I think?

Apparently Bettman will be in Arizona tomorrow to announce the sale. The hate towards the team is just the fact that they have 13 fans and as Winnipeg showed, there are communities and potential fans much more deserving of a team then Arizona.

I don't think the BoG will approve it. The team will continue to hemorrhage money and we'll be in the same spot three years from now. Why leave money on the table that you could pick up in Quebec? It makes no sense. Not to mention, it's not a sure deal Glendale approves it either by any means. Then you have the whole Goldwater Institute thing...

Oy vey.

Could be because I lack sleep, but I understood nothing of this (sorry). :lol

I suppose, but I get this "kid who wants everything" vibe from Canadians who talk about expansion or relocation to Canadian cities. Sure, Quebec's getting that new arena, but when it comes down to having a 2nd team in the GTA or Hamilton (PFFFTLOL) getting a team, it gets to that stage of stupidity.

Winnipeg had the infrastructure ready to take the Thrashers, so that's fine with me. Quebec? No arena (yet), and where's that ownership group?

If Phoenix can keep their team, good for them. If they can't, too bad. But this "x city deserves a team more than y city" mentality is really immature and stupid.

Lol let me try again:

Canadians hate Phoenix because they know that the team should/could be Canadian instead.

Americans are more "meh" because they might dislike Phoenix, but losing Phoenix would mean losing an "American" team to Canada.

Not sure if that argument is any good/if such nationalism exists in hockey, but it could certainly be a reason for your perception that Canadians seem to dislike Phoenix more than Americans?

Not sure if serious

Let me assure you no one here gives a flying fuck. In fact, most of us would probably rather see Phoenix move to a market that would actually support the team.

I don't know any Canadiens that hate that the Yotes are in Phoenix and not in a Canadian city, I just know people that think the team should be relocated to a city that will support it and deserves it whether it be in Canada or the US, I could give 2 fucks, Quebec has just always been the most popular option.

Canadian fans if someones should understand how fucked up and wrong it is to move a team, If the fans are few it makes the outcry and problems less. But it a move is still just as much of a proof of what Is wrong with sports today.

Some parts of it really reminds me about the old Cooke hit on Savard. How he skates clearly in front of him, watches the head and delivers. However the Cooke was more malicious since Savard had a harder time to tell that he was coming.

Anyone wan't to take a Shanaban guess?

Is Giroux a star? Yeah => 0 games

Max of 1 game since the Flyers won't be in the playoffs for much longer.

Oh, so the reason Giroux got so angry was because Brodeur clearly played the puck outside the trapezoid but the refs let it go as a birthday present for Marty.

Taking that frustration out on Zubrus was really dumb.

Larry Robinson has the Flyers figured out... without Pronger and Mezaros .... Flyers Defense is dog shit while Byrzgalov remains inconsistent

The remaining teams in the Playoffs have better Defensmen and better Goalies and that appears to be the case for 2012's playoffs success in the end zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Damn that Yotes news is depressing. They need to get that team to an area that will support it. I feel so bad for the players, stuck playing in front of an empty arena for who knows how long.

I haven't looked, but what's their attendance been like in the playoffs? Surely it's a bit better than the regular season.

Yeah the playoffs have been better but next season they will be back to last in attendance again. I doubt even winning a cup will change that.

2012 playoffs? That's the recipe for success in every year's playoffs.

Looks like giroux has a meeting with the league today for his hit. I think he should be suspended, but id be surprised if its more than a fine.

Tentative deal? Announcement of a plan? Sounds like they're trying to strong arm the city into ponying up more cash.

Besides, how does he go from being a month or two away from a deal last week to all of a sudden having a deal in place? Smells fishy. Even if this deal does somehow go through, this same shit will start all over again in a few years when his investors bail because they can't turn a profit.

wouldn't it be a conflict of interest if the yotes win the cup?
Yes. Looks especially shady when the league is obviously doing everything it can to keep the team from moving.

Any chance this new Coyotes owner behaves like, say, Michael Heisley or Clay Bennett?

No. The NHL makes new owners sign non-relocation agreements when they take over a team.

How long does the agreement term last?

7 years I believe.

Edit: Its obviously different in cases like Atlanta where there was no buyers willing to keep them in Atlanta. The league can waive the non-relocation aspects in that type of situation. They weren't going to force TNSE to keep the team in Atlanta for 7 years before moving them to Winnipeg.
