yeah, they tried to pull a fast one - called customer service the next day, took 20 minutes to get a manager but they honored it! charged my target card the full $40, then refunded the difference. was worth the effort!

You should watch a speed run of zelda 2 and see if that builds your interest at all.

I hated Zelda 2 has a kid too. I recently replayed it and now I really like it. There are two problems with Zelda 2, and if you fixed them the game would be brilliant. The first problem is that it is insanely hard. Just way too hard. This is the biggest problem with the game. If the damage done by bad guys was reduced, the game would be much better off for it. The second problem is that when you die you start back at the castle and it is a pain in the ass to walk all the way back to the dungeon. If you re-spawned at the nearest town, this problem would be solved too. Take care of those two problems, and Zelda 2 is a brilliant game. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the core gameplay, it is just too damn hard.
American retailers are making this very difficult for me to order from overseas, even with a US address!

On a different note, I really wish the Mudscamp Village Elder and the Shrub from Another Way were in this game. They're two of my favorite one-off characters.
Fun fact: one of the potential subtitles for the thread was "100 Stories of 110% 10-Speed Terror Like Bam; Like Fresh Out the Grease" just to see how long I could make the title. :3

By difficulty you mean the enemy damage structure is out of whack. The blue darknuts definitely had that issue.
The US version of Castlevania 3 also had that vs. the original.
Re: the lanyards, I'll just wait and see if there are any spares once the game comes out.

Music in the new area is alright, still not close to as good as the music on the show. It's so odd to me that the music on the show is loaded with chiptune influence, but that seems to be really lacking from the freaking video game.
Also that boss in the new trailer looks like Pen Ward.

I really want to be hyped for this game, but damn, that combat looks so slow and boring. I watch each trailer hoping for something that looks a bit more challenging than one enemy on the screen standing in place or a boss that doesn't move at a snail's pace.
WayForward did that for Shantae too. You'd think a team that can make such good art otherwise would be able to do much better with their text boxes.
Meeee tooooo. Everything else looks really great except for the font. So ugly.
(Total nitpick, but c'mon, it's the blandest possible choice for an Adventure Time game.)
