It makes sense but it wasn't confirmed, to my knowledge, until I read your post. I guess I shouldn't be upset with you over it -- it probably shouldn't have been released information at all. It would have been a good surprise, despite them leading up to his eventual arrival.
Actually, it was known he was going to be on the show for months since before Community's original return date even. (Posted in this very thread even waaaaay back when.) But it was never officially confirmed he was the dad until now. I always assumed it though. I mean it's either dad or a teacher.

I knew about the actor. I didn't know about the dad.

Whatever. Doesn't matter. All that matters is the show is coming back.

T-minus one week now, guys. Not much discussion around here, and no Season 4 OT up yet. I'm pretty excited about it, can't wait for October... I mean, February 7th!

Also, NBC posted this very cool and well done remix video: Thursday Night Remix. It's nice too see some advertising from NBC, considering how bad the ratings were for the past seasons :/

I started watching this fantastic series last december, and I think I watched all the three seasons at least three times each (one by myself, one with my sister and one with a friend). I read some pages of this thread, and judging by the activity - at least when there were episodes premiering - and the amount of posts, there seems to be a pretty solid fanbase of Community here, which is pretty awesome. I'll be posting for sure in the S4 thread!

Oh yeah, Season 4 OT will be up by this weekend for sure. :)
I still need a title though! So if you guys have any last minute requests, be sure to post them now!

dan harmon's book is great. collection of his online writings. don't think it's for sale any more at the moment and you can technically dig up all the writings yourself I believe, but I like having the physical version. plus mine's signed by dan.
I liked the end episodes, no slipping at all, no sir.
mhm. plus I'm of the belief that two new showrunners cannot replicate the show perfectly, and the new showrunners have expressed the desire to change some stuff too. change usually means some growing period, so I don't know if grace can be expected.

I do feel it's a misstep having the premiere be a Hunger Games theme, seeing as how that would've been dated even if the episode premiered on its original date. But whatever, always up for more Community.

Community Season 4 |OT| Everything is terrible.

Community Season 4 |OT| Not only fixing air conditioners, but the men who fix them.

Community Season 4 |OT| October 19 in our hearts.

Community Season 4 |OT| October 19.

STILL my favourite:

VH1, Robocop 2, Back to the Future 3, Community Season 4 |OT|

see, everything in here being "the reference is the joke" is what worries me.
community was never funny because it referenced pop culture. it was funny and it referenced pop culture.

It's just a 30 second montage. No need to worry just because of it, I believe.

NBC posted another short preview, but I think this part was already in other trailers/sneak peeks. Still, here it is.

I didn't know that the series was actually returning. When I enter this thread week after week and I see members bullshitting it's kind of hard to but into the conversation and say, wait is this canceled, without doing my own research first.

Can there be two threads? One for bitching about the lack of Harmon and the other to enjoy the show in? I have a feeling this is going to end up like the Halo threads...

If I don't like it as much, I'll just keep my opinions to myself. (New Girl has already taken over as my preferred sitcom anyway)

It is great. I've been just skimming it in random order, but there's random stuff in there that make you understand the show on a very slightly deeper level, like when he mentions how he used to
rub a women's mannequin leg on his nipples.
(spoilered for the squeamish.)

I bet
it's a trick. The Dean of City College is probably behind it and the finale will be an all out war between the schools bigger than Paintball ever was.

Or not.

That seems pretty plausible, considering Chang's presence inside City College's air ducts, while watching Dean Spreck strategizing an attack to Greendale, with tanks and shit. I have a feeling that the last paintball war will feel small in scale comparing to what's coming up! :lol

If this is indeed the last season (And from what I've seen, I actually don't want it to end. Season 5 or bust.) I'd want it to go out with a bang. This is the season they stop trying to win casual viewers over by eschewing "normal" episodes like last seasons vow renewal episode and some of the others, and pull out every crazy-ass plot they can think of just to get it all out there. And that's what I want. The old Community of season 1 and 2 is dead. The casual viewers are no longer the target. NBC knows the only people who will really be watching this season are the Die Hard (Pun intended, that episode is gonna be amazing I can tell.) fans who wore goatees and sent well, goatees to NBC. The people who tattoo'd #sixseasonsandamovie on their chests. The Abeds and the Shirleys and the Jeffs, Pierces, Brittas, Annies and Troys. This season will be for us. If you're looking for a normal smart sitcom, sorry, this probably won't be it.

I cannot wait. But also, I can. Because I don't want it to be over.

The one where Troy finds out that the people he looked up to are just as fucked up and clueless as he is? Yeah, I'm so glad that casual shit is being tossed aside for things that the real fans can appreciate.

I'm just saying it's obvious where they're going. I didn't say I liked it, but it's obvious they prefer the wacky crazy episodes over the regular "normal" ones. The whole second half of last season was pretty much experimental episodes. Even the "normal" episode from the second half was still pretty crazy. Maybe we'll get some "normal" ones this season. Maybe. But there's only 13 more chances.

TV shows have casual fans now? Casual viewers? Can you be a pro viewer? A hardcore one? What the hell?

I consider myself a huge Community fan, and normal episodes are still streets ahead compared to Abed's dream room stuff or the continous dumbing down of all characters - especially the insanity regarding Chang in S3. If you are only a real fan if you eat it all up without having a preference, or you have to love S3 more than S1/S2, then I am not a real fan. What a weird definition of a die hard fan, yo.
