Since we've pretty much jumped the shark on this thread, I believe it is finally ok to discuss: is it just me, or does Allison Brie just give off the vibe that if you ever dated her you would find out she's actually crazy? Her eyes man, her eyes.

I think it's more like she's really good at pretending to be like that in interviews. Annie character is great, but Alison Brie seems pretty annoying.

edit: to phrase it better, Talk Show Alison Brie seems annoying since she's just playing to the audience the whole time. it doesn't seem like she's ever herself, so the interview gets kind of awkward (like that Conan bit where she talked about running around naked all the time)

Annie got an essay portion. Annie going to move her luscious fanny. All day long.

...in bed. But on a slightly more serious note, it's definitely a persona she plays up. She knows she's got this innocent look so she plays up the crazy and the sexuality super hardcore. It makes her stand out that much more. It also keeps people from having expectations. You never know how much of her stories are true.

I still really like her because every behind the scenes thing and her twitter and everything make it seem like she'd be fun to shoot the shit with.

That must have been an early season 1 quote or something, because we all know how well that went. Not to mention the whole Jeff/Annie thing, which was kinda gross.

Yeah, looking back I'm pretty sure that was a nod towards how that character would end up. Hell, the debate episode was before the Jack Black episode that quote is from, and that has that scene with Annie and Jeff in the study room.

Just finished Season 3 on Netflix.

Community is absolutely insane, unpredictable, ambitious, incredible complete with a main ensemble cast that works. It's by no means perfect - Pierce and Chang are often underutilized, storylines get dropped, characters can occasionally descend into caricatures, and sometimes it just doesn't work.

But I don't care. When the show works, it hits it out of the ballpark. Calligraphy, 8-bit, colonel sanders, remedial chaos theory, dinner with andre, dungeons and dragons. STREETS FUCKING AHEAD!

I love it so much. This is the show I have been waiting for since Arrested Development. It's been so long...and now there are only 13 new ones left.

Netflix Canada. The one time we get something the US doesn't maybe?

In America it's on the pay service Hulu. It's like the idiots that run the show intentionally want as few people to experience the show as possible. Wouldn't want it on Netflix where it could possibly attract new fans/viewers.

It has to do with Hulu being under some collective of the US Major Networks. TV in Canada licenses shows differently, which is why Canadians can't watch Hulu, so Netflix got the show.

I think it's pretty stupid though tbh. My Canadian friends always have trouble following shows because of how the licenses are done. NBC shows on CityTV rather than the NBC network and all that madness.

Finally watched Season 3 on DVD.

And it was far, far better than I was remembering. I recall thinking that the series took a huge dive with S3, but aside from maybe two problem episodes it was gold! Either not having to watch it week-to-week drastically improved it or I was in a weird place when it was airing, because most my old complaints (with the possible exception of Abed) were washed away.

I think most people realize it, but worth reiterating: most of that captain america image is not alison brie. very very heavily photoshopped

May I ask which episodes?

They've hinted at Jeff hunting down his father for a while. The end of last season ended with him searching for him on Goog--Searchsies.

Sorry if you feel spoiled but the part you could read is not the part people don't know about. I expect season 4 to be largely about it.

Alison Brie overplays the whole sexual innuendo thing and it gets really old. She knows her target audience well!
Which is kinda sad, because in some behind the scenes interview she seemed really chill.
She probably is sexually liberated or whatever but totally overdoes it when there is a big audience involved.

Off the top of my head: Regional Holiday Music, Course Listing Unavailable, and Pillows and Blankets all feel mediocre to me. Especially Pillows and Blankets, which, despite being a novel concept, has zero memorable laughs from me. The first two are far from bad, they just came off as dips in quality when watched at the same time as more brilliant episodes.

Also, when I was watching S3 as it was airing I hated the Chang and Abed's arcs, but ultimately I was much more satisfied with them this time around. I guess they could have toned down the Inspector Spacetime stuff by about 40% though.

Well they needed a Christmas episode and you can't really top Uncontrollable Christmas or the first one which was just as good in a different way. I guess if they had just gone with a normal episode that happened to be Christmas based it would have been cool, but then again, it wouldn't have felt like season 3. And you needed a bridge episode to get them kicked out to prepare them for the end. And I liked Pillows and Blankets. It was nice. I thought you were going to say Virtual Systems Analysis which a lot of people hated. Though I loved it for how out there it was. And how it even made fun of the fact that they knew it was out there with him pretending to be Pierce not knowing what the hell was going on. It gets better and makes more sense on rewatches.

It makes sense but it wasn't confirmed, to my knowledge, until I read your post. I guess I shouldn't be upset with you over it -- it probably shouldn't have been released information at all. It would have been a good surprise, despite them leading up to his eventual arrival.
