I value my gaf privileges. I would swear a ban that their version of events is incorrect. We won. The first three games were the real ones. As you can see from the intervening random games, we were having NAT difficulties. Apart from anything else, we simply couldn't afford to not count the games we could party up in.

I don't really think MS tells Bungie who to hire on such a ground level. They're pretty independent from MS. This is more of a ZD/game journalism problem and their inability to keep (some of its) talent.

Question, how much different is L4D from the CS:S zombies mod? Like I get the whole procedural thing but what else sets it apart? I tried to convince my friend of the greatness of L4D but he's convinced its just a more polished version of CS:S Zombies.

the maps, weapons, characters are actually designed for co-op zombie shooting rather than just relying on emergent gameplay. plus things like bosses and objectives and having way, way more zombies on screen than you could have CSS bots.

Well, it almost seems like FPS is to 3D games as Platformers are to 2D games.

It's gonna be the most common genre this gen, for action games. If it's not 1st person, then it's 3rd person, using the same control schemes.

Come to think of it, I'd like to see more racers, as there are a good number of them coming out. Perhaps nearer to Fall as they approach release.

I'm not complaining though, I think the show has been covering all 3 consoles pretty well, and covering big name titles that most of us are looking forward to. I just started watching BTW...take my opinion with a grain of salt in this case.

You know it's funny, I kicked the PC gaming habit several years ago and haven't missed it a bit. That is until a few weeks ago when I just happen to read a preview for L4D. What I read really left me convinced I NEED to play this game. It's been ages since I've had that kind of reaction to a PC title.

I'm a big fan of zombies. I'm a big fan of coop. Match made in heaven.

To hear it's coming to the 360 (I didn't know until I just watched the segment) shocked me, and to hear it is as good as it is has me floored.

What is essentially a HL2 mod goes up right next to the mega budget, AAA, sure as shit multi-million copy sellers as one of my most eagerly awaited games.

So of course zombies are attacking, and two Tanks show up which are really hard to bring down. One of them comes over and just smashes the **** out of you and you were dead. And then I get to the ramp that leads up to the helicopter and I get knocked down because this Tank throws debris.. he threw some piece of the roof at my head, and I'm down. I'm calling out for help and the other two survivors are trying to get to me but between me and them is one of the Tanks. I'm down on the ground, shooting from the ground, we're all screaming at this point "Just stay alive! Just shoot everything you can!" And then I can see over here one of the doors to the roof breaks open and zombies just start streaming out and I'm like, "OH ****!" I'm lying there on the ground and zombies are coming and swarming over me and I'm like "NO!! NOO!!" and I died. "Oh no I'm dead!" The helicopter lands behind me and I'm on the ramp to the helicopter, there is my destroyed corpse being mauled by zombies. They shoot the zombies off of me, but no, go on! Be free, name a school after me when you get to wherever the survivors are.

She totally sold me on the game with that. Left 4 Dead is gonna be crazy.

It seems obvious that they warped the ending of the tournament. If they had legitimately won, it would have been significantly different. Besides, anyone who is good at Halo knows that Luke, or whoever was playing, is awful.

The Darkness is coming along great, I can't wait see how the multiplayer looks.

Buying Pokemon is still a toss up for me. I'll probably play it on a friend's DS first before making any decisions.

Left 4 Dead looks AWESOME, can't wait to play that stuff with friends. Anyone know if there's cross-platform co-op in this one?

Fantastic show, I really loved it. First show ever where I was interested in every single segment. I especially loved the The Darkness and Left4Dead bits. The whole Halo 2 match was entertaining too. The sight of Luke makes me feel a bit sad though, I really like the guy (in a non-gay sort of way) and I will surely miss him when he leaves Ziff.

A couple of points.

Halo 2 is so old when it came out Capn' Crunch was still a private. It was boring to listen to last week and it was still boring this week.

The Darkness footage deflated my hype big time. It looked like FEAR with a demonic twist. I hate bland environments more then anything.
