So one of the directors with the Capcom Osaka branch should be Koichi Yotsui, right?

He recently had his hand in making a Strider spiritual sequel in Moon Diver... lets see how this turns out, compared to that...

So does this qualify for the usual Capcom secret announcement "disappoint"?

I'm cautiously optimistic, since I forsee getting a Wii U sooner or later.

The last time Double Helix touched a franchise I loved, we got Silent Hill Homecoming.

is it wrong to keep my hype low for this?

For what it's worth I've been playing Strider 1+2 recently, and they're both excellent games. They're extremely simple gameplay-wise so hopefully DH don't fuck that part of it up. Should have given it to Ninja Theory though.

It's amazing how many minions exist relative to Marvel's actual sales. Like Mk9 trumps Marvel, yet kombatants are usually pretty silent on the board.
I think it's pretty obvious that the hardcore following of Marvel trumps that of MK9 as evidenced by tournament entrants and stream numbers. Plus overall Capcom fans trump MK9.

Ya we all saw that.

DH still blows :/

If i'm reading it right then this is basically like a Dragon Quest production. DH is just doing the programming while the game design is done by the original developers. Many people don't like Level 5 RPG's for example, but the games that they co-developed with Armor Project are highly praised. On those games they just handled the programming while AP did the game design.

Anyone can do grunt work. They'd have to work extra hard to fuck this up.

Meh.

Something tells me they only threw in "grunt work" because people would notice it's Double Helix and immediately shit on it because they are like a room full of monkeys smashing on a keyboard hoping a game comes out.

That list of games Double Helix made is scary.

Still, that doesn't mean that they won't screw up in the future. Let's see some actual gameplay before people jump to conclusions.

I mean, its possible they make a "good" game this time... moreso if the original devs are telling them what to do or... I don't know, new news keep coming up so fast... Still, the hype is definitely killed.

Remember when Duck Tales was announced and the first thing that hit you in the face in the trailer was "Wayforward"? Yeah, it's the complete opposite this time.

At least with Killer Instinct, MS sent a team of developers and Ken Lobb to help them with the game and it seems to be turning out nicely. If Capcom is doing something similar, maybe it'll work out. Retro essentially started that way with Metroid Prime under Miyamoto. Of course Retro started out with much better talent and funding more than likely.

All licensed games with next to no budget and development time blow.

DH hate is kinda ridiculous in here. I understand caution, but folks haven't even seen the damn thing in motion and are skipping town over a name I don't think much GAFers have even played the games from.
