I wish the Pro Controller was up for pre-order because I cannot figure out a way to get the most bang for my buck with this. Thought about re-upping GCU (just expired), the charging controller and Splatoon 2 (already have Zelda pre-ordered) minus the VC and $10 for $73...but I already have Prime so like...meh? Any idea if/when the Pro Controller is gonna go up for pre-order?

I feel the same way. I've already pre-ordered almost everything releasing in March from BB the last time this promo was a thing. I pre-ordered a Switch and the SE of Zelda BotW before this promo came into play and I can't cancel my order on the Switch because BB is oos.
I'd like GR2, Nioh, PS4 Danganronpa, Hitman, KHS 2.8 but all those games I can wait until the holiday season to pick up for dirt cheap if last year was any indication.

You guy should go into best buy and get it sorted out. That's what I had to do in mid December because it wasn't becoming activated on my account.

If you're in the US, it's all done on business days. And yesterday was a holiday (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day).
Yea I knew they wouldnt do it yesterday, that's why I thought it would be done today since it was a new business day.
Thing is the bank sure did take money out my account today on the new business day for my bills I paid over the weekend lol, but dont want to give me my money back for these pre authorization.
I kind of never want to shop at Best Buy again after the bullshit I've gone through with them the past couple of days.
I made an order on Sunday that included a GCU membership, and then had to wait for the GCU to activate on my account (which is already janky, since there's no reason it has to take a whole day to activate a digital membership I'm buying on their website). Yesterday afternoon I received another e-mail saying that my GCU had been activated, but it still wasn't showing up for me when I logged into the website.
So I called customer service, and was transferred repeatedly and disconnected twice with my first two calls. I finally found someone who wasn't even in the right department, but who actually tried to help me. She said that I'm showing as activated in the system, but that there is some sort of error with my cart (?) that is locking me out from ordering. I tried emptying my cart, logging out and back into the website, removing all Best Buy cookies from my browser, and emptying cookies and restarting my browser. Nothing helped. I'm then transferred to the "gaming sales" department, where I'm told I'll have to go into a physical location to activate my account (I can tell this person had no idea what she was talking about). I ended up wasting an hour on the phone with them.
And I have total buyers' remorse because I switched an Amazon preorder of GR2 that included the preorder bonuses to a BB order, where I'm guessing I won't be getting them. I kind of just want to re-order from Amazon, wait until GR2 gets here from BB, then go into the store and cancel the entire order and forget GCU. It's crazy how terrible BB's customer service is compared with Amazon's.

Honestly, god help you if you have to deal with BB's customer service. They're wholly incompetent.
And it's pretty funny that they suggested you need to go to a store. Both times I had serious order issues with Best Buy's online orders, reps eventually kicked me over to store employees, who of course said, "Ah... That's an online issue, I'm not sure what I can do for you." Best Buy has excellent deals (Stupid deals), but if something goes wrong, you're in for a bad time.

This is the one reason I still prefer Amazon when all things are equal (ie. pre-orders where BB doesn't offer any extra incentive/discount). My BB deliveries also seem to have about a 50% chance of arriving in trashed condition and trying to do exchanges with them is the worst. If the store doesn't have another copy in stock, you're shit out of luck and processing a refund is your only option. Happened with a few games I bought over the holidays and the sales had already ended by the time I received the shipments so I couldn't re-order. Amazon makes things so much easier in this regard.

Almost identical to my experience. I renewed my GCU on Sunday. Yesterday my online account said Ready to Download, and yet it says my Digital Library is empty. Also says they sent an email but that didn't come.
Called customer service, and after 30 minutes of giving numbers and trying different things, the specialists had no idea what to do and told me to simply wait another few days...
I don't understand why purchasing a digital subscription like this is so complicated. I can't even take advantage of this offer or get new games since GCU discount isn't applying...

Did my preorder for Resident Evil 7, the steel book version for the first film, and 12 Monkeys Season 2. Hope to see more promotions like this in the future, especially as the rewards for game pre-orders seems to be dying off.

ordered it on 1/13, got a confirmation email on saturday, when I go on the rewards site it says I have GCU through 1/12/2019, but when I add games there is nothing in the cart or when I checkout. The visa checkout worked but didn't complete my order yet b/c of not getting the 20% yet. Sure don't feel like calling support with the above posts...

no sign the thing actually working.. been adding/removing games from my carts since I bought it with no luck. my digital library is empty despite it claiming it's "ready to download." pretty cool.

Renewing an online membership should not be this frustrating.
Best Buy does not include an online chat or email links, so the only way to contact them is via their phone number. Again today I spent another hour on the phone getting the run around. Accidentally got hung up on transferring, told that digital services couldn't help and to contact My Best Buy services. After more run-around apparently the GCU services have an end date but no start date (at least for mine). She unfortunately said she didn't know how to change it so I should just continue to wait and see.
Obviously this seems like it's not just a single issue if several of us are having this problem. I'm mostly astonished that customer support can't assist in letting me use a digital service that I've already been charged for...
Guess I'll have to try in store because phone CS has no idea on how to fix it apparently.
EDIT: Looks like the My Best Buy forums are flooded with people with similar issues. For anyone reading this, might want to hold off picking up GCU online right now until BB gets it up and running.

Actually, the online chat is pretty much hidden... unless... using a web browser on a desktop, visit a product page for something like a TV, and it should pop an option for it on the right side of the page in a tab of chat is available (might be passed service hours). I do this whenever I need support and I can't call when at work.
I bought a GCU sub-renewal during Black Friday Weekend, and had the same issue. I don't think it resolved itself until I went into the store and bought something weeks later. It's ridiculous.
Got sick of trying to figure out something Switch-related so I just cancelled my Amazon pre-order and added Zelda to Best Buy, pre-rodered Horizon Zero Dawn and got GCU. After savings and tax was like $98 but I had already paid like $57 for Zelda pre-order so basically getting GCU and Horizon Zero Dawn for $40.
