Gamers are never happy. Is anyone else concerned that they're leaning into Fire Emblem a little hard now-a-days? I'm afraid we're gonna hit some franchise fatigue soon. I mean, in 36 months, we'll have had 8 Fire Emblem games. Think about it: from last January until the end of 2018 when Fire Emblem Switch is supposed to be out, Nintendo will have released the following games:
Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright
Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest
Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE
Fire Emblem Warriors
Fire Emblem Heroes
Fire Emblem Echoes
Fire Emblem for Switch
This is a lot of titles in a single IP to release in 3 years...

I'm calling it.
- Fire Emblem mobile
- Final FE 3DS game
- FE Warriors preview
- FE body pillows for redemption on Nintendo Account
lol holy shit, Gaf's reactions. So many people disappointed that a Fire Emblem direct focused on....FIRE EMBLEM.
If it's popular, why not? Most of those games (and Fates is just one title) don't step on each other's toes in the first place. Is anyone else concerned that they're leaning into Fire Emblem a little hard now-a-days? Is this one going to be costume DLC in Warriors too?
I hope so. The best Anna's ever looked imo.Is this one going to be costume DLC in Warriors too?
I mean, if an IP is doing well, it makes sense to try and keep interest up doesn't it?
Is there a quick summary I can read anywhere?

FE Heroes on Mobile is a gacha game that looks somewhat Fire Emblemish. Had the most gameplay to show.
FE Warriors is Musou. 10 seconds of gameplay shown.
FE Echoes. Remake of a previous game for the 3DS. Long trailer with anime intro. Two amiibos coming with.
FE Switch. They said it exists. That is all.
Thanks much!FE Echoes: Shadow of Valentia (remake of FE Gaiden) launches on 3DS May 19. All the Gaiden weirdness (dungeon crawling, towns, world map) included. Amiibo of the lords, Alm and Celica, available as a 2-pack.
FE Cipher series 9 includes Echoes and FE 6 - 9.
FE Switch announced, no details. Launches 2018.
FE Warriors gameplay shown. It's Warriors but with Chrom. Launches on Switch and New 3DS Fall 2017.
FE Heroes, mobile gacha SPRG. Lots of gameplay shown. Launches February 2nd on Google Play, TBA on iOS.
This is a really negative outlook. You are down on Gaiden because it's a remake, but what they actually showed seems interesting at least. Heroes, while obviously dumbed down for Mobile, seems to keep the core experience intact, and I'm sure it'll be one of the better mobile SRPGs. We now know for sure they are working on FE for Switch, and FE Warriors will likely be similar to Hyrule Warriors, an Omega Force title with lots of FE fan service. Seems good to me.Can't say this direct did anything for me. They could make a hundred more FEs and localize all of them, but if they all suck, it's the same as having none.
FE Mobile looks lobotomized, which isn't really a surprise I guess, but I had some hope they would have built something traditional at the core of their money-maker.
Echoes is remaking the worst game of the series and it's really isn't in their best interests to fix it; people like to grind, so you just need to polish up the waifus. I'm leaning pessimistic until proven otherwise.
Musuo is musuo. Don't tend to like these, but I won't reject it out of hand. Doesn't really mean much for SRPGs. Hope it isn't flooded with FE13+ and some FE1 throw-in (the first impression of the mobile is basically this).
EDIT: A new TMS would have been great, even an enhanced port. However, I was smart enough to not get myself hyped for the possibility.

That would definitely require some rework since the gamepad is so essential in the game.no TMS #FE port. sigh sigh
