Sure, JPP may have just pissed away tens of millions of dollars, but if he made any decent effort to save some of his previously earned millions of dollars, he should be able to retire, if need be, and make more money in interest than the rest of us make working. If I blow my hand off, I'm fucked. Can't work, probably can't afford the surgeries and rehab, end up being a burden to my family, etc. Frankly, it's more irresponsible of the general population to do stupid shit than a multimillionaire.

I'm still on last week if that's any indication of how busy I've been at work. New product launch, new certification program I'm heading up and two new hires I've been conducting interviews for for the last month (and people suck at interviewing.....badly). Very little time to post here.
Also getting ready for vacation next week to Orlando/Disney World so lots of preparation/shopping/animal care woes for our dog and cat, etc. My video game time is the only time I have to myself and its limited. The days just blur together.
I can't go back to my main job until Thursday. I've been off since last Thursday. I am bored out of my mind. Luckily though I start at the casino next week and I have to go to orientation there tomorrow and Wednesday.
Sweet. I go to the buffet sometimes with family.
the food isnt very good there though.

I know that feeling, the crushing doom of deadlines and work. I know it sounds like mumbo-jumbo but mindfulness exercises have really helped me de-stress and actually be a bit more productive. Another reason it helps is I'll think about work code when I'm at home and trying to sleep, so helps me to separate that away from my personal time to some degree.
At least you have a vacation to look forward to, it always helps to have something at the end of it all to get you through it.

well chris borland is in the news again stating he's "shocked" at how people reacted to him retiring and giving up the money. he is shocked because he says his health is more important.
i don't really care what he says, and if that's why he retired no one can hate on him for doing it rather than being a bum and cashing a check for his 4 year contract on the bench, but if you are honestly shocked why people would question the decision you are pretentious douchebag.
yes chris, there are tons of people out there who didn't have the luxury of your upbrining and didn't have the luxury of the money that your family has. not everyone can just decide to quit a job (particularly one in the NFL) because he/she values their health over money. and the funny thing is he'll probably cash in on seminars and giving talks at whatever concussion related meeting over the next few years so even better for him!
