In regards to the summary a few posts back, avatars on the PS3 are a joke. I really wish they would update them.

Japan has a whole new slew of avatars as well as many others that all other regions never got. I don't see why other region PSN don't get these...I mean, a few are from JP only franchises, but think about the amount of people who set avatars and don't even know what game they're from.
I can't count how many people don't know what Ratchet Deadlocked is yet have the avatar set for their PSN ID.

i have that one, i just checked the disc and its BLES-00389 if that helps.

the box is nice

Yeah, helps, many thanks! :D

Completely off-topic: if anyone have better single-player suggestions than Prince of Persia (game should preferrably have dropped in price), it would be majorly appreciated.

mh I just checked and did not find any new ones / not available in western PSN accounts.
Can you give some examples?

I'm pretty sure MvC2 is coming out on 360 at least 2 weeks before the PS3. It's gotta come out before the disc based version though, which i believe is this month.

FOR THE LAST FUCKING TIME:

THERE IS NO DISC/RETAIL VERSION of MvC2, PSN or XBLA. NONE.

Jesus, stop with this bullshit. If anything, you get a bullshit box with a download voucher for the game. :lol

So is it safe to say this is one of those DLC centric updates this week? I haven't heard of any PSN game releases so far.

Mercs 2 DLC for Europe ?
Heavy Weapon for Europe ?

well, ask the ps-blog guy :lol

btw the Merc 2 DLC Blow It Up Again is (only?) available in the UK-store (was free in the first week too IIRC)

more blog-replies:

Q: huh where ist the FNR4 DLC and that pinball PS1 game?
A: "There were two pieces of content that didn’t make it this week, Extreme Pinball, and the Fight Night Pack has now been pushed back to the end of August I’m afraid. Apologies."

Q: Why is game/stuff x not available in PAL?
A: "Please understand that just because a game does not release in Europe it does not mean it is down to the languages or translations, this is very rarely the case. Yes we require different language versions, but publishers manage this usually without problems. So many people make this incorrect assumption.
There are many different laws for each region and legal issues that the publisher may need to iron out before they can even begin to think about submitting content (licensing issues, payment rights for voice actors, artists etc, in fact there are a myriad of various reasons why content can be held up because of legal issues). Also, couple this with whatever marketing reasons a publisher may have for releasing content at a later date, and then the longer QA process we have and this all can be attributed to the delays we can see in content releasing in Europe.
This is NOT to say I don’t feel your pain because I do, but sometimes things are just out of our hands, no matter how much we want content onto the store."

I totally agree. Sony could at least give you the option to use your trophies, if you feel like it, as avatars.

I really fucking want some Ryu Ga Gotoku avatars.

For people asking about FNR4 DLC:
The Hong Kong PSN website has the dates as 8/11 for Pack 1 and 8/28 for Champions Pack.

It is rarely wrong with dates.

Savage Moon – Waldgeist Pack
Update Savage Moon before downloading expansion or it puts Savage Moon
into trial mode and you have to delete and download everything again.

I updated the shared version from my buddy to 2.01 and it was changed to the trial
I deleted and redownloaded the game from my friend and it was already the 2.01 Version and needed no patch. Now it works again (no trial status), no DLC involved in this.

He updated after me (and after I logged into his share-account, which is not his game-account btw) but strangely his version seems to be no trial now.

Batman AA is quite fun, I like it. And it feels good to see a UE3 game looking that good on PS3 :D

Could have sword the boy's face from Boku no Natsuyasumi and Crash Bandicoot's sister were JP only avatars...I guess not. Will have to double check the western ones and the JP ones.

The US store is updated. Nothing that I really want. I'll check out the Batman, and Worms demo. I already tried Crystal Defenders on the JP store, and thought it was crap.

Batman demo is about 300 MB smaller than the Euro one if I remember correctly. They probably left out some of the other languages.

Crystal Defenders...finallly! What took them so long to get it to the US store? Were they doing the ol' "stall release as long as we can" thing? It's been on the JP store forever, EU store later, and 360 (US) similar timing.

Haha, keep dreaming.

(If you want the most out of what the PS3 can offer it's obvious you have to expand to the JP store and buy stuff from there in addition to main US store, as well as EU store, and for a few things, HK store [Dark Mist+expansion comes to mind]...just a shame about the RPG's which are necessary to be in English to be playable for most of us English only speakers)

Are the two demos confirmed to be same otherwise though? I'd hate to be getting the Gamestop demo in the US, while Euros get a better demo.

I wonder what happened to Smash Cars. It was supposed to be released in June, then in July. I figured they were just waiting for a slow week to release it, but it doesn't get much slower that this.

just counted the rows, Japanese PSN as other countries has 223 avatars.
They seem to be in the exact same order, too.

I guess they add them all worldwide.
But yeah, they should have added a lot more by now. They are categorized since a few months, maybe that means more will come in the near future.

Maybe they waited to include a payment system and don't want to add a lot for free before that :lol

glad i could still do the qore offer, i bought first ep seperate and then i did year sub, to my surprise i got the offer even tho i hadnt had year sub since ep 1

Savage Moon DLC it is.

Otherwise ... yuck. :(

Edit: New trophies? I'm guessing "no".

And why do you guess that when the new trophies are there for all to see? Simply compare your trophies with someone else's or download the update. They always add trophies when they release add-ons.

EDIT: Beaten.

How hard could it be to add avatars?

I mean, really.

The avatars show up in the PS.Blog, on the official forums, your Playstation card - you think they'd take a couple of hours and fucking double their selection, which is pure shiiiiiiiiiiit right now.

Show some effort, SCEA.

Jesus.

They're trying to find a reasonable way to make some $$$ off of it, like they did with themes. It's only a matter of time.

If they just used all of their resources for the week getting new avatars and updating those next Thursday, I would be fine with that.

The funny and sad thing is that they take so little time to make. They could even allow GAP members to upload avatars while Sony ppl would just "QA" them(not bad etc) and then upload them to the servers. IDK why they are fucking lazy at that.
