Tech demo Link was so lifeless....
Most HD ports suffer from this though, and my assumption was always that it was a byproduct of porting an antiquated game (over a short dev cycle) to a more modern architecture. I mean if wii u was powerful enough to readily emulate gc wind waker without optimization at 1080 and still maintain a stable framerate I wouldn't be surprised at all. So obviously I wasn't that surprised that 1080p WWHD port with added effects had slowdown.WWHD has enough framerate problems as is, probably adding AA would just have made it much more notable. Anytime any sort of explosion happened the FPS dropped significantly.
great to see that they are continuing tu pursue the "athletic" Link introduced with Skyward Sword
Tech demo Link was so lifeless....
Why is this so surprising? I mean, it looked amazing and it's cool that they got it running like that on the Wii U, but you can easily tell it's a Wii U game.
GUYS GUYS GUYS
don't believe them until they PROVE IT!
am I right?
prove it, liars :3
I understand people doubting with the way the industry is today, but from the first moment I knew it was actual gameplay.
I hope that with Nintendo now being all about Directs and such, we get periodic updates on this game with fresh glimpses at new content, rather than having to wait until next E3.
I don’t think anyone is doubting it’s gameplay, people are doubting if it’s direct gameplay, which would pretty much mean the last part was a QTE....
That’s what it sounds like in the OP, but I’m sure he means its gameplay but they’ve just edited the camera angle for a much more cinematic trailer.

The water in the background when "Link" pulls off his/her cloak is amazing. But Nintendo does need to tone down their use of bloom.
Curious, anyone think it's a little strange how the water appears to be realistic, but the water splashing and physics are cel shaded?
I'm not saying that's a bad thing, just seems like a weird style choice.

I don't believe it. I also don't believe that there won't be 3 hours of handholding and tutorials and a weird messenger creature to help guide your way
I still don't believe it.
It looked so good...
but there wasn't for ALBW...
To everyone focused on the cloak, it's possible it was there simply for the dramatic unveil. There's no guarantee that it will be in the game.
Or perhaps, for story reasons, Link is in-hiding and the cloak allows him to conceal his presence. However, upon attacking an enemy, he's forced to remove it revealing his location.
Ugh, so excited to learn more. If Nintendo showcases a hands-on demo tomorrow, or a proper full-length trailer, on the Treehouse stream, I'm not so sure I'd be able to survive that.
Getting a Wii U whenever this releases.
and then you'll play hyrule warriors with the framerate dipping below 20 whenever more than 5 enemies appear on screen.
I don't believe it. I also don't believe that there won't be 3 hours of handholding and tutorials and a weird messenger creature to help guide your way
SO it was a big QTE sequence with the button prompts removed. Zelda U is going to suck hardcore.
Not at Twilight Princess levels, no... but come on...
What was that rabbit thing? Weird messenger creature.
I made a mistake coming into this thread. Put down your Hyrule Historia Lore books!!!! I'll leave quietly.....

You know in Wind Waker when you Z-target an enemy, wait for them to strike, then you get the flashy A button prompt and you can counter-attack? Maybe this is something similar, where if you're right next to an enemy, and you're aiming with your arrow from horseback, you get a prompt to perform a finisher.SO it was a big QTE sequence with the button prompts removed. Zelda U is going to suck hardcore.

He was a salesman not a companion. He didn't follow you throughout the game at all, he just sits in your house.
