Perhaps Naughty Dogs need a challenge either than Santa Monica Studios (GoW)...If GG can match the quality NG puts out, then perhaps we can say Sony's 1st and 2nd party is on par with Nintendo's now?
Put it this way... Would Killzone 2 pass Nintendo's QA process? With that input lag, I doubt it.

To be honest I dont see Sony ever challenging Nintendo as a software studio. Sega and SNK would be ahead of Sony as well.

They do have the edge on MS though, so that's something, I guess.

You should be ashamed of yourself for this post. Hell, I was embarrassed just reading it! E3 brings out the crazy in people.

Killzone 2 didn't have input lag, it was a design decision by the team on how they wanted the game to feel.

Also lol SNK what the hell are you talking about? They barely even put out games any more.

Is this a post from 1999?

To bring the thread back on rails:

When do we expect the release of the game? I'd think Fall 2016 is a good bet. Of course it won't be this year and in the first months of 2016 Sony will already have U4, R&C, SFV and multiplats like DSIII.

And I also hope by myself that they won't release much earlier. All the people they hired seem to just joined them this year or at least not so long ago. These talents from other studios will only have a real impact on the game if they joined early enough. GG is afaik working on it since 2011 though (at least prototypes), so the game should be already pretty advanced in the production cycle.

I thought early 2016 until Uncharted 4 got delayed. My guess now is September with God of War 4 in November.

i also think fall '16 for the same reasons. morpheus is also slated for the first quarter of '16. afaik the second half of '16 is unknown in terms of release dates. this, gran turismo, and possibly the last guardian would be awesome.

I'd like to see it hit in summer. Since this is a new IP that's been in development for a long time, it would benefit from coming out in a quiter part of the year.

Excited for this announcement now.

While lessened the "weighty" feel was present in KZ3 as well so whether you think input lag is an unsolvable conundrum to GG is up to you. It's also been said by the developers several times it was intentional. The only thing that got patched was a non weighty option and some reduced dead zone iirc.

yeah, it think Fall 2016 too. It's new IP so Sony don't want it to compete with big franchises in Holiday

We know that GG has the tech on lockdown, and judging by this thread it looks like they'll nail most of the other aspects as well. This game is rising quickly on my hype list.

Hopefully it comes out sometime in the first half of 2016.

I couldbsee it planned for fall 2016 and probably delayed to spring 2017
Despite Killzone Shadowfall receiving somewhat middling review scores it's (especially in retrospect seeing all the broken releases and delays so far this gen) crazy what they managed to deliver for launch.

Guerrilla will deliver on time and they will deliver well.

Yes, I thought about a summer (june) release too, but then we'd have something like SFV + U4 in february/march (at least they're both planned for this fiscal year iirc), R&C in april and also PSMorpheus (may/june?) including all the launch titles. If they would also release Horizon in june, this would be really packed. Imo late summer/early fall (august/september) would be the best guess. Of course only if it's really finished by then. I'm just going with the knowledge that they're already working since 4+ years on it.

They'll target Fall 2016, but around mid-2016 they'll remember they're working on the Delaystation 4.

(Kidding. Kinda.)

Must be joking a bad joke? Trying to screw this thread up?

Oh my goodness...that post was not ment to start a troll war (sigh), my apologies for that post.

(on topic)

I think this is going to be a monster hunter/witcher 3 type of game. I think Sony realized they needed a monster hunter type game on the PS4, but with a western touch. I love if this was huge like witcher 3, with a mmo side to it (and a good story to boot). If so, I will be there day 1 to pick it up from GameStop.

Spring/Summer 2016.

I reckon late 2016 for this followed by GoW3 around March 2017. I also expect GT7 will probably be ready next year so Sony should have a strong 2016 in terms of major first party releases.
