The only "shipping" in the original trilogy came from the childish Pearl, and the story ended on Phoenix interested in Iris. Before that he was largely devoid of romantic developments anyway other than a loose crush on Mia.
But yeah let's have Maya as Trucy's mother, that doesn't seem weird at all.

I looked it up for reasons but Maya would be 28 by the time AA6 occurs. Damn everybody got so old in these games.

Agreed, it would definitely be weird, as the original trilogy is very explicit about the fact that they have a totally platonic relationship. I'd be very surprised if AA6 didn't respect that.

Going off of the title, Iris is certainly not dead. Although I doubt she will make a reappearance in the series, she's most likely released from prison by now.
What does being mainstream have to do with anything?
I still definitely think that's possible. Other than the pre-order episode business, there shouldn't be any location/time weirdness going on, so I'd expect Nayuta to stick around in Japanafornia. That'd mean we'd still need another prosecutor after Payne in Kurain. Though, now it's possible it could be either Edgeworth or even Klavier, but I think it'd be someone else.

Capcom knows what people want.
It's a good feeling when we at least know it's coming, as opposed to other Ace Attorney games.

So, uh, tips for getting through the first testimony?
Good music, by the way. After AA5's cross-examination music being such a letdown, the one for this game feels a lot more intense. I like the "Trick" music as well.
Well I mean, he is the title character, and the series was at its best when it was the Phoenix show.
Apollo felt like Phoenix-lite in AA4. altho i do have to say they did a better job with him in AA5.

Aaaand there she is. Hope she gets a major role in the game again.
It has always been a Phoenix show. Even the 4th game Phoenix still had a very big influence in the storyline even if Apollo was the main attorney and Phoenix taking the supporting role.
And Maya is always the best sidekick.
