If any character deserves to get a comics-accurate costume without any extra padding, technology, or discoloration for realism/grounding purposes, it's Iron Fist.

Emerald green spandex all the way, baby. Might even get away with it because of the supposedly lighter tone the show has too.

It's hard to discuss without spoiling it, but a lot of the warranted disappointment people have is with a pretty sudden change of circumstances for a character at that time and the slow introduction of a plot point that takes way too long to get explained and kind of undermines some pretty basic knowledge you have of a main character.

I still think it was good after that because the commentary persisted afterwards, but it isn't without issues.

As much as I love Claire, it's getting a bit ridiculous how she seems to have stumbled into the lives of all four of the Defenders.

There was sort of a logic to the first three. I think she meets Danny through a self-defense class Colleen is teaching if I remember right.

I'm gonna be really annoyed if Colleen is a love interest. The hero doesn't need to bang their most important supporting cast members in every marvel show. I don't even care about Danny being white but making the major Asian supporting cast member an object for the white hero to pursue would rub me the wrong way.

I agree and I'd hope they wouldn't go in that direction, but I'm rather sure that hope is misguided.

Honestly, the only Claire meeting that's super contrived is the Daredevil one. Like, Jess meets her in a hospital, where she's introduced to Luke. Danny meets her at self-defense training, which is a bit of a coincidence but hey, she's got good reason to be there.

Matt just happens to end up in a dumpster next to the apartment of a trained nurse who's willing to break the rules for the greater good.

Have they said anything at all regarding his costume yet? I really hope we dont have to wait till season 2 for Danny to get his costume.

Side note, Im so tired of people still complaining that he isnt an Asian American. This isnt a Shang Chi series, its a Danny Rand Iron Fist series. He is a white guy whos plane crashed at a hidden temple where he ends up getting the power of the Iron Fist. Im sure Marvel will have an Asian guy play Shang Chi, Master of Kung Fu, when they get around to it.

Jesus Christ Danny I did kung fu and that stance is terrible. Any amateur would laugh at you for that shit. Get that knee up higher son. Dude should be making a 90 degree angle not a 45 there. Knee raising is a counterweight for thrusts and your center of gravity is up higher by your waist not your knees. Plus the leg shouldn't be raised in front but to the side...now his weight is off balance as he's put some of his mass in front of him at knee level away from where he is sending his force...he has no counterweighting or balance like that at all. Hell he even has his foot LOCKED behind his straight legs knee which is stupid because if he is impacted or put off balance he'll be breaking his own straight leg stance and causing his leg to bend.

Can't tell if he's supposed to be aiming at the waist with that thrust or not but if he is he has ZERO power behind it unless he lowers his stance for that thrust. In that pose he arm should go straight out wrist locked otherwise his force is lost due to a bent wrist and shoulder. For a low thrust get into a low stance son. The stance he is in is meant for a jabbing thrust at eye level. There are reasons we shoot low into bow stances for a thrust. So that every joint is solid and not bent behind the thrust and so we sink our weight behind the thrust itself.

Amateur. Get the guy a decent choreographer with a martial arts background or he's gonna look stupid out there.

My dream right now is that, in that scene, he gets lambasted by a teacher who says, word for word, what you just said.

I'd like to wish its the beginning of his training but look at his surroundings. Belt systems? Sneakers? He ain't in K'un Lun.
That looks like his New York school.

because- he got trained in asia then came back home- he already knows what to do, but is going to the beginners class to meet colleen (who is in the background coming in)

Was going to say this. If you ended up trapped in a hospital with zombie ninjas, and that didn't even happen to be your first rodeo, you'd probably start packing and/or learn self defense.

Because of all the shit she finds herself in? She literally had to fight a regular human in a hostage situation in Luke Cage. The idea that she wouldn't go, "Huh, maybe I should learn some basic self-defense" isn't a crazy idea.

Like I understand people having issues with Claire's appearances, but here? It makes sense.

Finished Daredevil S2 and started Luke Cage last night. Kinda looking forward to this given the massive difference in tone with Cage. Love the style they went for, hopefully this will be just as enjoyable.

Like the others said though, please don't be tropey and bang the asian girl...

EDIT: So #9, "The Mistress of All Agonies", pretty much confirms that
the Bride of Nine Spiders is in the series, seeing as that's one of her signature attacks
