Dream Persona 5:
Just like Persona 4 Golden.
2 year calendar.
First year is final year at high school.
Second year is at college.
Supernatural things start happening in the high school town.
College year is in another part of Japan, supernatural phenomena follows protag.
Protag and his friends basically turn into the ghost busters but with shadows.
Only 4 of the protag's friends come to college with him, depending on your relationship with them.
Make new friends at college, a couple of whom are past characters.
P5 will be set in a financial office. You play as an accountant, college is so yesterday.
No, the games are based on creating and fusing Personas, using them in battles, exploring the dungeons, grinding, getting powerful, getting stronger weapons and then beating the Final Boss. After putting 30hrs into Persona 4 and 3?....entire games are essentially based on going on dates with all the NPCs...saying only what is the obvious choice...(should I comfort her or call her an idiot?).... a lot of the game out side of the dungeons is based on dating sim games
I just replayed the entire crash and spyro series...I love kids games...but romancing high schoolers is something I feel is not age appropriate for myself....Im playing through PG4 now and hate doing the dating stuff....its boring...simple....and seems only like a terrible means to an endseriously, what game have you playing because it sure isn't Persona.
Also, your age doesn't matter, it's a videogame, have fun and stop thinking you're supposed to be a certain age to enjoy something.

Well for one more adult relationships instead of the whole "senpai blushed at you" bullshit.... maybe going to parties or bars to drink...or dealing with more responsibilities outside of when presidents day is. Also there are more adult problems in college and life is just more complex than the simple day to day humdrum of highschool.
Being stuck in highschool like every other anime is not original or unique.
Then don't do the dating stuff, it is entirely optional. Or better, you could not play modern Persona games, if some aspects of the games bother you so much.I just replayed the entire crash and spyro series...I love kids games...but romancing high schoolers is something I feel is not age appropriate for myself....Im playing through PG4 now and hate doing the dating stuff....its boring...simple....and seems only like a terrible means to an end

I wonder how GAF would react if it was persona 4-2 ( Arena is a spin off, right? ).

I'm hoping for a darker Persona. 5 more days!!!!!!!
I definitely wouldn't say it's entirely optional. It might not be part of the critical path in the game, but the benefits you get for completing S-Links is not trivial. Obviously if this sort of game is not for someone, they should consider not playing it. Persona games are what they are. They're targeted at teens and young adults, and if the material is really such a turn off, well there are other games to play.
I hope I get to be a fetus.
At least a college setting is a must.
Seems like a suitable and natural progression for the series.
It has always been highschool, I don't see how it would suddenly be a "natural" progression.
Darker how? Persona 4 was thematically quite the dark game, even darker than Persona 3 imo. The 'problem' was just the aesthetics of the game.Me too, P4 was great but I'm hoping for something a little darker this time around
Most Persona games are set in high school. I really don't see how college setting would be a natural progression. At least a college setting is a must.

I really want them to have P5 be set with older characters in college. IDK I'm in college right now so im being selfish
My dream Persona 5:
-Set in middle-school
-All-female playable cast
-Magical girl theme; the Persona are transformations
-Non-random dungeons filled with puzzles and warp mazes
-Yurlicious Social Links
It's a shame such a game is too good for this world.

I thought Persona 2: Eternal Punishment didn't take place in High School?
I never played it, but I assume it isn't since you play as Maya.

Main SMT series tends to get the darker-toned games. Since Persona games always have the backdrop of a school and the social aspect, it can't maintain a fully dark tone throughout the game.
Did Persona 4 really have all these versions made of it?
PERSONA 4
PERSONA 4 ARENA
PERSONA 4 GOLDEN
PERSONA 4, VOL. 2
GOLDEN 2 PERSONA 4
(these are all individual entries in the resume for Nanako's voice actress)

Not really.Persona 3 maintains a suitable dark tone throughout the game's story. P4 had a notable lighter tone than P3 did.
Not really.
persona 3's main theme was DEATH
persona 4's main theme was scooby doo at the department store

Yeah and I am not saying Persona 3 was a 'light' game. I am saying Persona 4 wasn't necessarily lighter than it. It had a lot of 'dark' stuff, like every other Persona game before it. The characters struggling with their inner/shadow selves (some of these being pretty fucked up), the murders, the villains, the city covered in fog, etc. So yeah, thematically-wise I think Persona 4 was darker than Persona 3.persona 3's main theme was DEATH

(some of these being pretty fucked up)
Hates self
Jealous of best friend
Resentful of family heritage
Homosexuality
Repressed libido
Doesn't know where he came from
Thinks life is a game
Transgender
Dead mother
None of those are particularly fucked up.
We clearly have different readings of some of these shadow selves. Anyway, my point stands, Persona 4 had its dark moments and I wouldn't mind Persona 5 having the same tone as it.Hates self

lolCome on, no one is more fun and friendly than Yukari!
The characters weren't as fun and friendly as the ones in Persona 4, for example.

Thing is, the Persona 4 cast wasn't as serious as the characters from previous games and also yeah, the "detective/scooby doo" aspect of the game was pretty silly, but it is not fair to focus solely on these aspects and ignore the other parts of the game.
Well, they're not, but you kinda misread a few imho (Kanji's, Rise's and Naoto's). Though, I can definitely see why.

At least 3 of those are notable causes for depression and suicide in people with identity issues.
It really depends of what one considers to be dark. Dealing with personality issues and having to learn to accept yourself the way you are sounds like a more dark (or better, "mature") theme for a game than... mortality. Very few moments in P3 strikes me as impacting or "dark" as the various playable (or not) characters facing their fears in Persona 4. Then again, maybe I am just misunderstanding what you people are referring to as dark. If you want lots of death, grim and edgy stuff, darker colors, etc, then maybe Persona 4 isn't really dark. Still, darker or not, I wouldn't want Persona 5 to have a somewhat generic theme as death (Persona 3's theem). Persona 4 explored an unique ground in video games and expanded the psychological aspect of the series and I think Persona 5 should do the same, whether this theme is considered dark or not.I'm not sure how you can say the search for truth is thematically darker than dealing with mortality.
