Unfortunately it's been a while since I've been able to academically pursue prehistoric archeology. I do remember evidence showing women with bone damage associated with hunting as well as from weapons. Evidence points to the women being the ones who would manufacture weapons and tools. While hunters were majority male, there is evidence is various ancient cultures of women in violent roles.Ah, wasn't aware of that. You're definitely more well-versed on the subject than I. Any good articles to check out?
This needs to be Coop. Because so far, it just looks like another farcry 3 reskin... and i dont think that i would waste 60 bucks into a Ubisoft game without any coop play.
The Trailer for the game looked looked like that you can play the game in Coop. But if this is SP only? Skip
Yo! That game was the shit, man, that game -- shockingly good.
Wow February 23rd has 3 AAA releases, Mirror's Edge Catalyst, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and now this
Huh, well this is a breath of fresh air in the AAA landscape. Will definitely keep my eye on this.
It's as much of a breath of fresh air as any new AC setting is.
They'll have dinosaurs.Ok - that's nice
funny how this and Horizon going with the same kind of primal setting.
Primal COD November 2016
That's still pretty cool, though. How many games explore the French or American Revolution? The Italian Renaissance? Third Crusades? It's as much of a breath of fresh air as any new AC setting is.
I disagree. There are very few games that take place in this time period and it makes a lot of sense for Far Cry's mechanics. It is indeed a breath of fresh air.

Ubisoft is the literal embodiment of design by committee.

I know right? South Park, Anno, Trials and Gone Home are so designed by committee.

I know you're being sarcastic but they kind of are. Actual history is largely untapped outside AC, and despite those games faults it's great being able to explore famous historical periods. More so than some dork's derivitive sci-fi universe or whatever.
i have a weird feeling that this is going to be super rushed and an exact clone of far cry 4.
I'm really not. Ubisoft is riding this formula for quite some time already. They do a reskin of their successful game and call it a day. It's easier than making a sequel even because in a reskin you don't have to actually improve anything, you just leave the gameplay as it was. This may work for a couple of times but at some point you're just getting tired of playing the same game over and over again.
Will be glad to be wrong about FCPrimal but my faith in Ubisoft is at an all time low right now.

Are you saying that AC1, AC2, AC3 and AC4 all have the same gameplay?
I don't think you read my post, or the post that you quoted initially lol. They were all about the setting, and the fact that Ubi soft, despite their faults, do use interesting settings that other companies don't touch. The post I quoted was you saying the settings of AC aren't fresh, which is dumb.
No, not AC1/2/rest but ACB, ACR, AC3, AC4 (mostly), AC5, ACR and AC6 probably do.

You just happened to mention four games that were only published by Ubisoft, not made by Ubisoft Montreal, Quebec, Shanghai, or any of their other worldwide studios.
Set in 10,000 BC, Far Cry Primal follows Takkar, "a seasoned hunter and the last surviving member of his hunting group." As players survive in the land of Oros, "they will have to craft weapons and tools partly from the bones of slain beasts, hunt for food, master fire, fend off fierce predators and face off against other tribes to conquer Oros."

Yeah after the Horizon e3 demo this looks like shit. Sorry Ubi no buy.
Let's not be too hyperbolic, shall we?
Far Cry going in this direction is pretty shocking, and certainly not something we see anywhere. This reminds me of the best parts of the 2005 King Kong game, and focusing on survival and hunting with primative weapons is a great idea for a spinoff.
Knives, slings, spear-throwersYeah, being amongst all the many many FPS games, this is actually a pretty bold move by Ubi. No guns, just spears, bows, and clubs (I assume). I'm actually pretty stoked for this game just based on the trailer. I'm hoping they show some gameplay fairly soon.
Knives, slings, spear-throwers
Redlynx, Blue Byte are fully owned by Ubisoft, the new South Park is made by Ubisoft San Francisco and I meant Grow Home (which was made by Ubisoft Reflection) instead of Gone Home
I get it but at the same time, the Horizon vs Primal comparisons are kind of sillyYeah after the Horizon e3 demo this looks like shit. Sorry Ubi no buy.
Instead of Towers you'll have to paint caves to mark your area.
