I doubt Ness will return unless they have a completly different moveset

Actually it's not called MOTHER in the US. It's Earthbound over here, remember.perfectchaos007 said:Q: Why does it say MOTHER on this item?
A: Is there anything WRONG with having an item that says that?
It's like they are trying to act like Mother never existed anywhere.
*sigh*

Didn't stop Marth and Roy (yes I know they were almost cut).Somnid said:Because no one outside Japan played it?

Zeed said:The FE pattern was completely different - they just sprung Ike on us out of nowhere and followed up with an FE stage. Then came the Subspace Megaton. Still, maybe Lucas will show up next week, he's overdue already.
With a completely different moveset. Your point?Somnid said:Yeah but Ike's in now...

Game & Watch, Ice Climbers.Danthrax said:Is that list still missing any series that were in Melee?

So far the "Pattern" is proving true. 1-11 are franchises from the original SSB. 12-14 will probably be Ice Climbers and Game and Watch, the two franchises that were introduced in SSBM (unless I'm forgetting one). That leaves 15-? to be franchises completely new to SSBB.APZonerunner said:So, that's a new "game" icon for us on this post. This one's labelled #7, bringing the count to...
1.Smash Brothers
2. Donkey Kong
3. StarFox
4. Kirby
5. F-Zero
6. Metroid
7. Earthbound/Mother
8.Pokemon
9.Zelda
10. Mario
11.Yoshi
12. Fire Emblem
13. Ice Climbers
14. Game and Watch
15. Animal Crossing
16. Wario
17. Snake? Snake! Snaaake!
18. Kid Icarus

Fourteen or seventeen is probably Snake, unless the third parties go past the numbers we already have.Zeed said:So far the "Pattern" is proving true. 1-11 are franchises from the original SSB. 12-13 will probably be Ice Climbers and Game and Watch, the two franchises that were introduced in SSBM (unless I'm forgetting one). Maybe the "Wars" games, or considering the success, maybe something from the Brain Training games will appear and use that slot.Zeed said:So far the "Pattern" is proving true. 1-11 are franchises from the original SSB. 12-13 will probably be Ice Climbers and Game and Watch, the two franchises that were introduced in SSBM (unless I'm forgetting one). We can't know for sure until that slot is filled or something from MGS is revealed. But you may well be right.Somnid said:Well It'd make the most sense that unlockables and third party stuff will proabably be last on the list, so that means that that there a good chance that at least one more Nintendo franchise will be represented.
Zeed said:We can't know for sure until that slot is filled or something from MGS is revealed. But you may well be right.
So, we've got potentially one more Nintendo franchise yet to be represented. Speculation? Advance Wars might make sense...but what else is there?
Pikmin, Advance Wars, Golden Sun, that's about all that comes to mind as probably candidates.archangel565 said:I forgot where I read it, but someone said that maybe #17 would be Pikmin. Sounds reasonable to me because other than Advance Wars I can't seem to think of many other 1st party games from Nintendo.
I doubt it since DR Wright got the smash logoZeed said:Pikmin, Advance Wars, Golden Sun, that's about all that comes to mind as probably candidates.
But something else just occurred to me - Animal Crossing is getting a stage, but it looks highly unlikely that it will be represented by a character. Yet it has a logo. Might we be getting logos for every game that is represented by a stage/item, and not necessarily a playable character?
Actually he did! Samurai Goroh and Knuckle Joe do use the Captain Falcon and Kirby logos respectively, but Wright uses the generic Smash logo. So the question now is...is this merely a fluke with Assist Trophies, or are they really going to give us an Animal Crossing playable character? I can't imagine how that'd work if it's not Nook or KK.Dark Ninja said:I doubt it since DR Wright got the smash logo
EDIT--
actually he didn't and Ninendog has his own logo too
Yeah I checked the official site and they have the smash logosZeed said:Actually he did! What do you think of Olimar and Louie as playables characters both at the same time, like Ice Climbers?
