If there is, I hope it's not one of those Japan Club Nintendo exclusive deals again.

I was sure I saw a ClubNintendo.JP confirmation of this soundtrack but I guess I was dreaming cos I can't find anything. Fucking travesty. Luckily the game has a music mode for the time being. Please Shibata. I don't even care about SMT, just give me this OST, full!

Ha! :) So you listened to all of the tracks in the OP? Which ones are your favorites?

I couldn't just not do it ;-)

There are many great tracks and it's really hard to choose, but I'd say I'm feeling most attached to Wing Ding, Amiss Abyss, Homecoming Hijinx, Sawmill Thrill, Rodent Ruckus, Temple 1, Cannon Canyon and Irate Eight (Underwater) right now. That's almost the lot of them. I'm a sucker for the strong, recognisable melody lines of the classic earworms and by God did Wise deliver. I'll say it again: He needs to be employed more! Curse Microsoft for cancelling all the games he was involved in.

Well, sorry. Does it help if I say that the game is amazing?

Haha don't worry it's not your fault. That's still a nice amount of good music on there. I wonder how they got all the tracks on YouTube however? I assume it's from the aforementioned Music mode (or whatever it's officially called) I can't remember the Music mode on Returns but I'm sure it had the full roster?

And yeah the game is looking phenomenal. I'm soo excited. When Nintendo showed these games off at E3 I was one of the people who didn't mind Retro working on DK but I'd be lying if I said I was super hyped. But this last few months...damn.

Wow, 5-1 and 5-6 are both gorgeous.

I'll update the OP once we have the names of tracks 5-1, 5-2, 5-3, 5-4, 5-6 and 5-B.

(I'm presume 5-5 is Jelly Jamboree?)

That's great videogame music right there. Damn it, I don't want to listen to anymore tracks since I still don't own a Wii U, but man, this game might be the one to change that.

Tropical Freeze and 3D World are not only perhaps the best 2D and 3D platformers ever (respectively) but they're also a musical feast for the ears. It'd be cool if Nintendo made a WiiU bundle with both games.

You bet I did. :) Although I got mixed up and thought it was the
snow theme
from DKC1 rather than the
snow theme
from DKC2. So it's DKC2, huh?

Also, World 5 boss theme. Another tour du force in the vein of Devil May Cry.

yep

Also, the world 5 boss theme is probably my favourite boss theme in the game. I think it's great how much variety is in the boss themes though. I really need to hear the final boss theme isolated since I'm not watching the actual fight again until I get the game.

Yeah, I think the World 5 boss theme is now my favorite, as well. Straight-up F-Zero + every futuristic cyberpunk videogame ever made in the '90s.

6-2 -- Prepare to Cry Edition

Seriously... One of Wise's most beautiful pieces... ;_;

The Rocketbarrel theme has been posted as well, likely taking place in the Cave area of DK Island. Soon we shall have the music for the Forest, Cliffs, Factory, and Final Boss levels.

He brought back the personality of the old DKC games. Non intrusive melodies, atmospheric sampling, great rhythm, recognizable sound banks and good length for each track overall, not too shabby, not too long.

Great work, I knew he wouldn't disappoint. The only track I didn't like one bit was (ironically) the trailer's, though I had a gut feeling it was going to result in this.

Also, 5-6 borrows the ice theme from DKC1. Nice.
