i dont understand some things, the order get trashed to death and this gets praised to death ?

Both games look to have the same strenghts and the same problems.

Both looking great
Both barely have gameplay.
both have meh shortting gameplay mechanics.

i saw 16 minutes of a dude wakling and climbing shit and most of the time not gameplay , i remember seeing some shooting in a video looking like this but this one i skipped that part, shooting and freezing with the power was meh to watch.

Nope. QB shooting has far more variety from what little we've seen, the sandbox gunplay mixed with time elements is more dynamic than the stop n pop/on-rails stuff ive seen from the Order. Throw some puzzle elements in there and your comparison doesnt hold. Theres nothing here as offensive as the warewolf on-rails section.

vfx on another level man

The Writer is fucking awesome. Oh man, that spinning house. Then the spinning hallway! The words mechanic is loads of fun.

Isn't this section also from the DLC?

Pretty sure it is, yeah.

Man, that gif has me wanting to get my 360 back and boot it up. Why did I give my 360 to a friend's son.

WHY!

Those scenes look incredibly difficult to construct, must take a lot of effort with all those pieces and deformations.

Game looks very impressive.

Looks great as always. Come on Remedy, show me that Alan Wake was just a bad shot.

You may be right but leave it be, please.

That's "Dr." dofry to you.
I liked what I saw. Especially the lighting looks good and the overall art style is nice.

Even though it's not 1080p now, so the image looks very soft, I think they have time to tweak it to full HD by launch. It's an unfinished game / demo anyway so I'll give Remedy time to make it good.

The premise of time stopping is the thing I like and it reminds me of that scene in the new X-men movie.

Sami Järvi narrating the demo was a bad choice though. Get someone else to do it next time. Couldn't concentrate on the action due to him.

Edit: And yes, leave the PS4 comparisons to some other threads. This is a Remedy / Quantum Break thread.

I just want to show some love to the sound department. The music is good and the sound efffects on the stuttering objects is excellent. Two thumbs up guys.

i hope so, because AW was really boring and repetitive, it also had a lot of visual effects and objects flying around but gameplay wasn't anything extraordinary.

The Order has awkward looking animations popping in and out of cover, enemies that barely react to being shot at, and generally clumsy looking combat.

With Quatum Break you have the pedigree of Remedy, who have repeatedly made third person action games with gunplay that feels great.

Alan Wake had painfully repetitive gameplay though and the actual shooting, while creative, was pretty basic. Alan Wake excelled in atmosphere, basically.

Not saying QB will have poor gunplay though, I think it looks awesome, but their pedigree isn't necessarily something to hold on to, IMO.

Admitedly, I didn't play American Nightmare.

I can't deny the quality, but this is doing absolutely nothing for me. I wasn't big into Alan Wake either even though I beat it twice; once on 360 and once on PC.

Artistically, I really dislike the slowdown effect (not sure what else to call it, sorry) that they used in Alan Wake and here. Check out the video at 12:16 for an example. Not sure why but I really dislike that.

Alan Wake was great IMO

well, opinions and such. Same could be said for games like the order once is released. I think AW was repetitive gameplay wise and had many of the issues people complain about uncharted for example. It had awesome 'ambient' and art direction, which is more important for me, as long gameplay is ok and not broken. That is why my attention is on both QB and The ORder, both seem to have very interesting settings and plot. I do not need them to have innovative gameplay. Just play well, that's all.

Imagine Alan Wake + Max Payne game play fused together, and sprinkle in some space-time manipulation science fiction, and it looks like you have Quantum Break. Please let this be a 2015 title.

The game is looking ace, except for all the gun fights, turned me off in Alan Wake and is turning me off here. Why do they have to put so much shooting in there, it was especially bad in Alan Wake with the limited amo, why design a game with so many gun fights but restrict my ammo? Made me quit on AW about halfway through.

I don't think there's any chance of 1080p on Xbone. We should just cast that off now. Let's enjoy the amazing looking game for what it is

Absolutely gorgeous. Seems a lot like an Uncharted game with a time-manipulation mechanic thrown in -- what with the gorgeous set pieces, scripted flow, cover shooting, and platforming. While I can't imagine it's super replay-able, looks really promising and the VFX are on a level I really don't think I've ever seen in a game.

True dat. Actually I think The Order and QB will be cool games.
Mordor was just an inbred son of AC and Batman but so far my GOTY.

Thats the dilemma in all Horror games. AW was pretty generous (I just finished TEW; that game has no ammo).

I love third person shooters like but there is no way I am getting an X1 for just one game

It would be difficult to not to buy at least some of these X1 exclusives in the pipeline or already out.

Sunset Overdrive, Master Chief Collection, Halo 5, Forza Horizon 2, Killer Instinct, Scalebound, Phantom Dust, Ori, Crackdown, Tomb Raider and Gears of War.

That's really impressive :O

Best looking nextgen game so far IMO

I think the effects are better than anything else I have seen but outside of when things are shifting around and going all batshite crazy that the game is actually not that impressive looking. Doesn't take away from the effects though just insane.

I really don't see the Uncharted comparisons at all. The whole flow of combat is completely different unless your saying 3rd person shoot == any 3rd person shooter.

I had my issues with AW but that DLC is probably the best DLC for any game ever.

I know this sound heretical, but I'm actually more intrigued with the TV show part of the package. As this is Remedy, I never doubted gameplay, story, atmosphere or graphics.

The interweaving show, however, really interests me.

i thought it was simplistic, but satisfying. for me it never got tiring. like max payne before AW, they nailed the shooting, gameplay loop, and feel. i have no doubt i'll find this to have the same level of quality to its combat mechanics.

See thats the one thing I feel like they failed with AW. That gameplay loop wasn't satisfying to me from the first enemy I killed to the last. I loved the game for everything but the actual gameplay. Visuals, and Presentation were phenomenal. Everything else was rather meh

Yes, the gameplay was repetitive, but the shooting always felt highly refined. Great feel to the character movement and aiming. Great feedback loop of enemies reacting to being hit, and sound effects communicating that to the player.

i could see that and admit it was definitely simplistic. but man, stringing together dodges with shotgun blasts while being overwhelmed and surrounded was great to me. i really enjoyed the light mechanic and strategy. it just felt right. no doubts with this one for me.

Resident Evil got it right almost 20 years ago. I just started playing TEW two days ago, let's see how that goes.

It's pretty OFF topic but, try to save every bullet you can.
In the end it gets really annoying.
20 years ago it was hard to make better AI to make games hard.
Today I think its lazy to make games hard by cutting down on ammo.
