i've been begging for over 5 years.
It's a major anniversary for a cultural touchstone.

Does it really need to be scrutinized? Fucking internet...

Hahahaa... I also got bombarded on twitter with a link to my post here. People are really catching feelings over SNL's decline.

Looks like we're at the SNL doomed portion of the cycle.

Exactly. As a 35 year old SNL fan and Nintendo enthusiast since early childhood, these cycles are all too familiar. And the people that declare DOOMED look just as silly now as they did 10, 15, 20 years ago. You're not cool for being the one loudly declaring the end of a cultural icon. In this case, you're just one idiot in a long line of them.

Norm being so low on the list, way below forgetable cast members is insane. Even if you don't count his time as Weekend Update he was a vital element of the Celebrity Jeopardy sketches and made them what they were.

Chris Rock being in the top twenty is enough to kind of discredit that list.

It's an interesting read to find many of the members who fell through the cracks on their way out.

Are you from the future? I mean, the TV listings haven't changed, whereas they did for this morning (e.g. no Meet the Press on NBC). And there is absolutely no way something as significant as this special would be preempted, even if the storm was ongoing (and right now, it's basically over).

I haven't looked at the list of guests. I want to be surprised. SNL media blackout!

On my FIOS cable box guide for WHDH it says "Blizzard coverage" all night during prime-time.

This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.

Looks fantastic. Wayne's World is practically a lock, but where's Darryl Hammond :( I want celebrity jeopardy. I guess Ferrell and MacDonald can hav Trebek and Burt Reynolds, but you need Sean Connery :(

Hammond is the announcer for SNL now. He is there.

VH1 showing specials of previous episodes. It's pretty cool because they also show some of the bands that played during each time period.

My guesses:
- Political sketch to open with all the Presidents
- Coneheads sketch
- Wayne's World
- A couple sketches built around Eddie Murphy's characters
- Celebrity Jeopardy
- Some other skit to cram in a bunch of recurring characters for cameos who don't fit in anywhere else
- Weekend Update with all the ex-anchors, and tons of guests. Probably will be a full half-hour alone.
- Some sort of musical skit with Sandler/Fallon/etc other people who sing/play guitar
- SNL Digital Short
- TV Funhouse
- Skit where Aykroyd/Murray mentor the new "Ghostbusters" cast
- Some new stuff

Only if Gerald Ford falls into/knocks over something

My prediction is Chevy Chase will be the one to do the "live from New York" bit at the start.

Pre-show just started on NBC btw
