Had to rack my brain as I suck with quotes but I remembered my favourite Jonah insult:

Hey, Hepatitis J. How's that pic you posted on your blog going, huh?

Shame about Iannucci :(. Hopefully this means something new from him though

We're getting an Elmore Leonard-less season of Justified and the dialogue is still top notch. I'm not sure how involved he actually was in the show, but either way, they've been able to "imitate" his style quite well.

I think he was only ever very very tangentially involved with Justified though.

you speak so well
Super disappointed to hear that Iannucci is leaving but at least we have one more season of his work.

i'm glad iannucci is leaving. there's plenty of veep episodes. i want to see something new from him, and i'm glad we didn't lose him permanently to america and american stories like a lot of uk talent.

armando has always been a terrific talent spotter and surrounded himself with good people - this might be his greatest strength in fact and why he's done great work for so long where people like gervais have floundered, so i'm sure the show will continue to be fun.

New episode tonight:
Joint Session

Selina's staff frantically works on her first major speech as president; Gary questions his worth; Jonah is put off by the new vice president's chief of staff; Amy discovers that a rival campaign manager may make a play for her job.

holy fuck what an awesome primiere.

made you think they were finally righting the ship to competency and then that speech happened...hahhaahah

Man hitting it out of the park. Going to be a great season.

Huh, the secret service agent at the door during the credits was one of the dock workers from the second season of The Wire.

I'm really glad the dude that was with Selina on her book tour is back. That dude cracks me up. Nice touch with the Women for Meyer button.

New guy who was working on the speech needs to distinguish himself more. Right now he's a little generic for a new character.

Ehh... didn't think it was a great episode. Wasn't terrible but only got a couple chuckles out of me. I thought the "cock thumb" bit was trying way too hard.

Glad to see Patton though.

Fucking hilarious

Watching silicon valley right now and I laughed more in Veeps first five minutes than I have this whole episode.

The nerds are watching the wrong show

They had a ton of exposition to get through. I'm still concerned about the show losing some intimacy because they've set the scope so much wider, scattering the cast into like 3 separate camps doesn't really alleviate matters. Everything else was good, extra busy, but good!

Sucks to hear about Iannucci. This show is producing at such a high level I hope things don't fall off.

Premiere was awesome. Oswald was a nice surprise.

Didn't laugh much, the premieres almost never do it for me for some reason. The speech and Sue were great this season. In fact Sue had more to say this episode than like the entirety of S1.

Great stuff, they managed to change up the dynamics so it felt like a new setting while of course maintaining their qualities.

You're a big guy.
Big and bold start to the season. Interested to see it was directed by Chris Addison. I love seeing names like David Quantick in the credits too.

He's directed quite a few episodes now hasn't he?

It will be interesting to see if next series, with Iannucci leaving, that the likes of Chris Addison and Will Smith and Quantick stick around or whether they'll all move on too.

We could be looking at a completely different show.

Does anyone know if Patton Oswalt is going to be a recurring guest character this season or was it just this episode?

man nice to see Furlong "Live long and fuck off" "Grey Elvis" brought tears to me eye. I didn't know Patton Oswalt was going to be in this season, that is a great addition.

Veep has been renewed for Season 5!

It's really throwing me off that GAF highlights your quote as mine. I keep thinking I've forgotten about some brief Internet spat.

This show is just amazing.

Happy to see it getting renewed but I'm a bit worried about Iannucci leaving.
