Just so everyone gets more of what this movie is, it's the jukebox scene from Shaun of the Dead, only it's car chases and not a one off gag but the whole movie.

I think people confused on the "musical aspect" need to watch this scene again. That's the concept. Hitting to the beat, when the song says "reload" Ed goes for the gun, the lights flipping, the "woah woah explode" with the fire extinguisher.

Like how in Scott Pilgrim he uses editing and transitions as a weapon for comedy. Editing as an overt action that everyone can see and that punctuates every character action from scene to scene. I imagine he's going to do that, but this time with music.

I actually think I liked the regular trailer better than the international.

*Shrugs*

The scene showing all the heist goons was very slick in the US trailer and I love the Michael Meyers/Mike Meyers joke. I think both are good but the international one has much more energy to it. Sells the editing and the way the action scenes are gonna be too.

Great trailer, and love that it's not only filmed in Atlanta, but it has the movie plot actually take place in Atlanta.

Can someone tell me if Brad Allan is working on this? He's the stunt coordinator behind Scott Pilgrim and The World's End, and an action focused movie like this really begs for him to be back on this movie.

Mighty Boosh tho. Would kill for another season of that. Or at least another round of radio shows.

Awesome music video

Boosh is a show that definitely did not need another season. They barely had enough ideas for season 2. Season 3 was awful. I adore season 1 and the radio show, even the live show, but I don't think we need more of it.

hey remember when Marvel wouldn't let Edgar Wright direct a movie for them

dumb fucks
Ant-Man is fine, but it's missing something without Wright's distinctive visual style and a singular story.

It's a shame it didn't work out. I was saddened because Wright and Ant-Man seemed like the perfect match.

It's been four years since The World's End and the wait until Baby Driver's August release is going to be rough.

the peyton reed defense force in threads about it was basically the saddest thing
I love Wright's work and felt Reed did an admirable job given the constraints he had to work within and the negative reaction after Wright's departure.

It's ultimately Marvel who had the final call on Ant-Man. Reed came in after the two had parted ways and had the thankless job of reworking the project.

I don't blame him.

Hey remember when Edgar Wright was working on it for ten years and couldn't even get it to the starting line?

Marvel was more than lenient considering every other low budget movie director has had no problem getting a movie finished in their system on time.

I'm looking forward to Baby Driver, but cautiously. Scott Pilgrim and The World's End weren't great (If we have to bring up Marvel, I think Ant-Man was better than either.) and the absence of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost aren't helping things.

When I found out it was filmed in Atlanta I didn't realize it was actually taking place in Atlanta. Fuck, now I'm even more excited to see this.

He had a ton of fight-scenes choreographed and in pre-vis. Ant-man was about to happen, but Marvel wanted him to change things, be more integrated with the MCU, in ways that were detrimental to the movie.

I'd watch that. is there a tracklist floating around

I know two of the songs based on Twitter reactions, which I'll put behind a spoiler tag:

"Bellbottoms" by The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion

"Radar Love" by Golden Earring

This is only a fraction of the songs, though. I believe the final soundtrack will have
over 30 songs on it
.

Yeah I suppose you're right. Just listening to those radio shows again on my commutes recently and fuck they were hilarious

Also putting any mcu movie over a wright film is hella wrong imo, let alone one of the mediocre ones like ant man

When Baby steps on those tables in time to Radar Love...

Definitely hyped for this one.

Yep. That throwaway scene with Falcon was painful due to how out of place it felt.

What bothers me the most is the color grading.

How do you know it's even color graded?

I'm not saying it's not, but if they're going so far as to maintain the "purity" of the car chases by refusing to use CGI, is it really so out of bounds that the imagery was specifically lit to look like that?

I'm curious to see if Wright makes any changes to Baby Driver between its SXSW premiere and its theatrical release.

It's graded..and the look is by all means intentional. It's just very different from other typical Hollywood films which would probably be a bit less saturated, have more black crush, and bit more contrast. This instead has more in common with what you'd see in a music video.

Either way it's just a matter of preference.

I saw a pre-screening of this a couple months ago as part of a focus group, and it was an absolute blast to watch.

Get hyped

Something tickles me about seeing a Subaru featured as a main lead car in a movie. But it makes total sense that a bank heist getaway car would be a Subaru.

I don't think he is, but his talents aren't called for here as much since this isn't about melee fights.

Baby Driver got the same stunt coordinator of Drive John Wick, though. Darrin Prescott.

God, Ant Man was so boring and formulaic. I don't really get what they were so afraid of after Guardians of the Galaxy was a huge hit for them. Let the man stray from formula dammit.
