Was it ever explained why the American Men of Letters were wiped out? I know Abaddon killed a bunch of them, but ALL of them?
I think so ye. They were all probably there for the level-up of the woman she was possessing with the exception of their granddad who was waiting outside for his level-up. But you'd think the MoL had ways to keep fucking demons out so this doesn't happen lol. They knew of the Knights of Hell didn't they?

I just got the the Quentin Tarantino style episode(Stuck in the Middle[With You]) and that was a fantastic episode.

I've enjoyed this season so far? It's been alright I suppose. Not as good as the last season, but it's high.

I can see why people had issues with it-Start off with the English Men of Letters, divert into Lucifer, divert into Lucifers baby, and then introduce the Princes of Hell halfway through it? Alot of threads that I imagine are rushed to be finished.

Most of those threads converge pretty well by the end of the season, so it's not too bad.

Oh from what I read through the thread that night of the finale, I imagine alot of things finish off well near the end. I still can't wait to see the ending for myself.

Just finished with season 12. It was a mediocre one, however it did have some episodes that I really enjoyed. The Men of Letters eps were mostly weak and the POTUS storyline was just abysmal, but I liked having Lucifer's original vessel back. :) Also it sucked that
Rowena's
death was never shown, only the aftermath. I hope it's not the final one, because I like this character and the show never had problems bringing back people that should be dead.

And yeah, I'm very excited for the spin-off. I always look forward to Jody and the girls episodes. :)

Wait the first Hell Hound was named Ramsay

....does someone on the Supernatural team watch Game of Thrones? Good reference. (YES THEY PROBABLY DO I'M DOING A RETROSPECTIVE QUESTION IT'S FUNNY)

Well! Just finished season 12.

I liked it. It had the consistent arcs of Men of Letters, Demon princes, Lucifer, and Mary. It was indeed wrapped up by the end.

The only things I disliked-
The inclusion of the 2nd world and yet knowing so little of it. Maybe next season we'll get Mary/Luci adventures in an unknown world that doesn't respect Lucifers power?

And the reveal of the Nephalem. Seriously, they had to give him the creepy 'I'm going to kill you' smile? Eh. Ehhh. I'm expecting for it to be a red herring and he's actually a pretty cool guy.

I think the earlier seasons it's a combination of it not being filmed for 1080p and it might've been a style choice?

It gets better. So does the music, oh god does the music get better.

It was.

I wouldn't say it "gets better" because it's just part of what makes season 1 so special. Juste like the music, and Netflix having different tunes is such a shame. It doesn't get any better than the original music in season one.

I don't know why this show never completely clicked with me before.
Like I love all the elements but I couldn't binge it at all so it was always an episode here an episode there for the few weeks/months I really wanted to get into it.

Anyway i'd been sick the last two days so I put it on last night and its finally clicking and I've watched without stopping other than sleep.

Yup

It's a slow burner that really ramps up half way through the 1st season, and then it's a non-stop 'WHAT HAPPENS NEXT'. It's great.

Man, it really upsets me that newcomers to the show watching via Netflix are missing out on the amazing season 1 soundtrack. Like, that's half the reason I fell in love with the show so hard. I love when shows use well thought out and perfectly placed music instead of whatever latest pop is trendy, and every music choice in Supernatural is deliberately chosen to enhance the show.

Is there any other that utilizes (not original) music as well? I know it's not the best show ever, but I do think it's up there in that regard.

Yup, I started to really get into it around then and its still going early in S2

Makes me wonder what I missed out on because I really can't recall a single bit of what was there or could have fit.
Most memorable music bit so far has been Back in Black after Dean rebuilt the Impala.

Finished S12 finally. Fucking BOOM. That ending was sick. I loved it. Haven't enjoyed a finale episode like that since S8.

Easily in my top five seasons.

Stupid good looking Jared. :(

That's the tat that keeps demons from possessing them. Which I'm pretty sure they don't have anymore because dying and shit, but I dunno. It's never been brought up again so just assume they still have them.

Iirc last thing that happened was when Cas(or some other angel) etched the actual wards on their bones lol.

You should look up the music for season one and then watch the clips on YouTube. Tons of amazing music choices. My favorite is the Bad Moon Rising clip. At least look that one up.

Finished my full rewatch of all 12 seasons with my fiancee a few days ago. That was her first time through.

She actually said 12 might have been her favorite. And yeah, it's not my favorite but it's up there for me. The Lucifer-in-other-bodies stuff didn't work very well but the Brits ended up being a great bad guy. And both Ketch and Mick were really good characters.

The only legit bad thing in the season was the legitimately awful decision to kill off Eileen. It was the same writers behind that episode who wrote the episode where Charlie died. They're bad on this show and need to go.

Wow, Katie Cassidy actually has some presence here unlike the vacuum she was early in Arrow.

Only issue im having with S2-S3 is how quickly they flipped from caring about possessed people to not giving a second thought to killing them.

So this is actually kind of crazy for a number of reasons, such as The CW almost never having their actors on talk shows, but Jared and Jensen are going to be on Conan next Wednesday night.

They'll be the second guests after Will Smith and the cast of Bright.

Nah the bones were to hide em from angels & demons but didn't prevent possession. It was Cas though.

No clue. I think it was season 10 that Sam had gadreel possessing him and Dean got Cas to burn Sam's tat so Crowley could posses him. After that no word on the tat situation

Wait seriously? Fuck those guys. They kill of amazing female characters in the stupidest way that makes absolutely no sense. Fire those fucks tbh.

It's very frustrating. Never mind that the characters shouldn't have been killed off at all because it's what the fans expect now. Dying on Supernatural is basically a meme and the writers should be pushing back against that.

But never mind that, just focus on the fact that they were both written badly. Charlie died because those writers decided to make her stupid for an episode and wrote her into what was a fairly sexist corner of not being able to deal with bickering with another woman so she decided to leave an angel-protected safe zone, knowing people were out to get her?

And Eileen doesn't even get a single line of dialogue? You introduce a strong disabled character, just start to hint at a really interesting relationship between her and Sam, then kill her off randomly without a single line of dialogue?

Both were done terribly.

Oh rock of ages, do not crumble, love is breathing still. Oh lady moon shine down, a little people magic if you will.
I've finally been able to watch Season 12, binged it in a couple of day's.
I haven't been this conflicted about a season since S3. They throw in a lot of new ideas but I can't help but feel they squander most of them.
Others like the Nephilim and dimension hopping are food for S13. Those are pretty exciting.
Please don't screw it up!

Here's hoping the Nephilim's plotline draws some inspirations from Hellboy, that would be fun.

I hated the British Men of Letters and not in a good way like S8's Crowley, Azazel, Lucifer or Metatron.
They came closer to those Leviathian dick's.

While I might sound rather negative I still had a great time watching this season. It has some great episodes and I really did miss the Winchesters.
I love this show, even if I don't alway's love what happens.

Speaking of which:

The only legit bad thing in the season was the legitimately awful decision to kill off Eileen. It was the same writers behind that episode who wrote the episode where Charlie died. They're bad on this show and need to go.
One problem: Brad Buckner is an Executive Producer.
But I fully agree, fuck those guy's for killing a great character like that. There's Something About Mary is one of the show's worst episodes.

It was fun to see Rick Springfield as Lucy for a short while but i'm glad Mark Pellegrino is back. He's maniacal, charming, fun and diabolical.
I hope that if Lucy ever returns they won't use other meatbags anymore.

Looking forward to next season. :)

Damn at that finale though. Cas has to return. I need more Misha Collins in my life, not less. :(

Man was disappointed about RubyV2 at first but think I like her more actually.
Jared Padalecki agrees and so do I.

Cas was already accidentally confirmed to return.

Kind of a bummer. I like Castiel, but I feel like he's been in a rut ever since S9. Even then, S7 onwards has just been him wandering around. How many episodes have had Sam and/or Dean going, "I can't reach Cass and we could really use his help right now." Just kind of a, "well what do we do with him now? He's too popular to get rid of," situation.

Apparently Gishwhes is ending this year too. Damn. The one year I decided to take off because of medical reasons and it's the last one :(

Man its kinda funny checking the old OTs as I make my way through every now and then.
Especially S5's with everyone worried about a cancellation.... who woulda thought 8 more seasons at that time?

Wait, why were people worried about cancellation in S5? Supernatural has pretty much been a shoe in for renewal since season 3. Haha.

IDK wanted to see the response to the Trickster TV and the Supernatural convention episodes and those few pages had multiple posts about it.

Im only in S5 but its probably my biggest problem with the show, they just killed 3 of them back to back to back.

First time watching?

I think it was less of cancellation more of "this is how the show ends" kinda vibe. Season 5 is where Eric wanted the show to end so it makes sense. I was upset that the show kept going when watching S6 and S7 but having to endure the abomination of S7 was worth it for S11.

I didn't know SpnGAF was a thing till I think season 9 or 10 IDR.

First time watching?

Yeah. I had watched an episode here, episode there over a few months till around "Scarecrow" or a bit after in S1 about a week ago and I have been on a marathon since.
Right now im about 4 episodes into S6.

I was loving the show before but damn Castiel really took it to another level, love the dude.
