Great episode. Had a few laughs here and there and I really enjoyed the character development which I think is something they stalled on in the first two episodes after the return.

Can anyone tell me what Jeff said about Blade's brain damage? The weather in my area is really bad and it knocked out my satellite signal. I got what he said about shame but after that it got cut off.

His complete lack of shame made it so that he didn't care about anyone, himself, or anything. So he didn't care about hurting britta or moving forward in life. He was shameless and terrible.

The Pierce/Chang stuff tonight was the first time in a while that something on the show has been bad to the point of cringing. Thankfully there was only like a minute of it lol.

I've never been a Pierce hater, but tonight's episode made it easier to envision the show without him lol. They've clearly never really known what to do with him anyway.

Don't really get this, seemed like the point was that it was undeveloped. Was worth it for Chevy crying over a blue horse.

Great episode. Everything with Britta's phone was golden.

And when the Dean shows up to Abed and Troy's apartment: "I need help reacting to something."

Might be you; you're the only one I've seen thinking that. Before the break and for 1-2 episodes after people were down on the show, but pillow fort and this have them crazy positive again.

The last episode was legendary and a strong contender for greatest of all time. Together with Remedial Chaos Theory I don't know how anyone can complain about this season.

This episode was pretty good too.

Great episode.

Got a lot of good laughs.

Forever alone Pierce made me sad.
Britta and Annie should spank each other in lingerie.
And lol at dean: "I'm into trains now."

Nah, it's still been pretty great. "Urban Matrimony and the Sandwich Arts" is one of the best of the season, right up there with "Remedial Chaos Theory". That episode was brilliant.

How many episodes of his 6 has John Goodman been in now? 4? I remember him being in the episode where he was introduced, the first half of the pillow fort story, tonight's and the one with the secret society or whatever... or was that the one he was introduced in? Its all blending together.

I really liked tonight's episode. I liked that this week had some abnormal pairings...Jeff and Shirley, Annie and Britta, Pierce and Chang. Although I feel like the Jeff/Blade story was done (and done better) back with Rich last season. At some point, Jeff has got to stop realizing something about himself and actually start acting like he's had all these realizations.

I wish Annie and Britta would be paired together more often. There always seems to be an untapped vein of comedy gold there that gets to seep through from time to time.
I also agree that Jeff needs to collect three seasons worth of revelations together and put them to use, but I feel that's what Season 4/his inevitable Commencement Speech will be about.

Annie's boobs (note: not Annie's Boobs) were amazing this episode.

I think it says something to the strength of the show that I actually watched this whole episode and didn't think to focus on Alison Brie's fantastic boobs once.

This is four. He was in the season opener, the episode where Troy is tapped for AC, the first pillow fort, and this one. I wish he was in more, I feel like his character has a lot of untapped potential so far.

Ahhh, now that was a quality Community episode.

And there's not much that hasn't already been said.

What? What about the Dungeons and dragons episode or the lamar burton one? I love him as the villain.

It felt like Troy took really really hard the whole texting nice things to Britta to get her over the guy thing, and that was never adressed. Felt off. What was that about?

At the end, while they were all watching blade, annie gave britta a nod towards troy to let her know that it was him who came up with the nice message... reinforcing their budding relationship I think.

Great ep. Especially loved the "I wonder how many women I've affected this way" and Annie's reaction.

PS. Not sure how I feel about a Troy and Britta thing. There's no real connection there otherwise and no reason they'd relate to each other at all. Troy being overly immature and Britta always trying to act grown up. At least with Jeff/Annie there was some kind of a mentoring/father thing going on there.

There are definitely a handful of individual episodes where he's "clicked" (it's mega-brief but his line towards the end of Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas almost entirely justified his character being around for me), but the vast majority of the time it feels like they're just tossing him lines to give him something to do.

This really was a cleavage-heavy episode, had to rewind to listen to a line again many times lol

To be honest I was just so distracted by Annie's cleavage I had to re-watch to catch the actual episode.

Enjoyable episode, not the best but pretty good. The Troy Britta arc can only go south, I don't see it being good addition to the show but what do I know?

Main difference I'm noticing this season is that the show has gotten very continuity driven, which is having an effect on the way gags are built within each episode. I think its affecting pacing and particularly the time allowed to build the B-plots and how they dovetail with the rest of the story. It made several episodes feel less "complete" than I think they could've been.

I get the feeling Britta/Troy is going to be important in the resolution of the Laybourne story - we've already seen Abed is ambivalent over the whole AC/Plumbing split, whereas Britta's always up for fighting the power!

Another excellent episode of Community. I am really really digging this show. Sad that I still haven't seen the first season, but I will remedy that this summer.

On a related note...maybe you guys already talked about this but, does Britta look a little different? I don't think it's plastic surgery, but did they change her makeup or something?

lol same, about to rewatch now

That was wonderful. My favourite episode since Chaos Theory. Just full of neat character development and a cracking first act. And, hey, the Troy/Britta stuff is picking up steam.

Also, hey, they spend two and a half seasons giving Annie fuck all to do comedically, and then she gets this episode. Good job, Brie, you fucking nailed it.

Makeup and hair probably.

So the relationship where they have been planting seeds literally for the same amount of time as Jeff Annie is weird, and the father/daughter one is NORMAL?

I thought Troy taking the phone and sending Britta a nice text was a very mature thing to do.

Also, I felt old at the "she was born in the 80's, she still uses her phone as a phone" line. :(

Fun episode. So far I'm preferring the latter half of season 3.

Probably also should weigh in on the Harmon/Chevy debate. The impression I'm getting is that their personalities never particularly meshed; only difference is now it's public. Suppose any press is good press, and if anyone can reach out to the lowest common denominator of viewers, it's TMZ.

Was sort of sad to hear that Chevy actually doesn't really like the show, though. Maybe it's because Community's so meta sometimes, but I kind of just associate the actors with the characters they play, so it feels weird hearing about "behind-the-scenes" drama on a show like this.

It sounds more like sour grapes about his scenes being edited down than a genuine dislike for the show

I'd watch an entire episode filled with Annie's cleavage.

Not joking.

Oh wait, that is what I did last night

And it was glorious. I was gonna make a comment last week that the earlier episodes in this second half of the season had a disturbing lack of Annie's boobs.

They REALLY need to get Goodman another plot point, he's such a powerful character.

"I need help reacting to something" was the best line

Exactly. Addressing it without spoken words is way better. That would end up being tripe like "You're a TRUE friend Troy-eee!" Just having Britta know that Troy thinks these nice things about her, and having Troy know that Britta knows, and having the whole group realize once again how great of friends they are, is more than enough.

I agree with most everything you said, but are we sure that Troy knows that Brita knows (after Brita found out from Annie)? When they were showing all the warm looks to each other at the end, Brita has a warm look for Troy, then the camera pans down to Troy giving Abed a warm look.

I'm guessing they're going to stretch out the Troy/Brita relationship a bit further by pulling Troy away now from Brita (since he was offended at her reaction) then having the big reveal for each other towards the end of the season.

I thought he did, because to me it didn't look like he smiled at Abed. He looked back at the entire group, then looked forward at the movie smiling.

I think they will stretch out the relationship until the end of the season though. Not because Troy's offended, but just because they're both still awkward and unsure of what to do.

He and Abed looked at each other and grinned.

Troy and Britta, despite the age difference are probably about the same level of maturity, Troy is discovering his maturity and Britta has been Britta'ing attempts to repress her immature side since the first season. They've also been hinting at this since the dance recital.
The Jeff/Annie thing isn't mentoring.
