I didn't watch last week, but caught some last night. Seems like he has calmed down quite a bit during the interviews.

I don't think a NCAA coach will ever come on Fallon's show again.

Chattanooga got BLOWN OUT (not that they weren't expected to get blown out, but still, 107-43).

I have only watched one night and I was sort of bored... It was the episode where he went to a dollar store to show how to save money. The skit ended and I actually said outloud WTF was that? Very little from what I saw in that episode was funny at all. The spoiler alert guy was funny for 1 minute but then it lasted 10.

He has a LOOOONG ways to go in order to become good at this job.

Yes, it's Fallon's fault that the 16th seed got trounced by the 1st seed. That was the whole joke.

:lol Yeah, anyone who thinks that Chatanooga honestly had a chance in hell of winning is very disillusioned.

Yeah it was Letterman who helped Conan.

Letterman HATED Leno and refused to ever go on his show but has always been a big fan of Conan and gone on his show a few times.

gosh, how much of a total FU! to Leno would it be if Dave went on Conan's Tonight Show... :lol:lol:lol

To be honest, I think I read somewhere like a year ago that Letterman is open to interview Leno/being interviewed by Leno now.

Honestly, I'd like to see him come to terms with what happened and extend his hand, like Leno has tried to do before.

Jimmy needs to change the bulb in his applause sign because everytime I tune in, it seems like everyone is fast asleep. The rare joke that is actually funny gets no laughs at all and it is just painful to see jimmy's face. I know they don't have much to laugh at but this is seriously the worst studio audience I've ever seen. I'd imagine it's pretty hard to be funny if your audience just isn't getting involved at all.

how that dude do that card trick?

He memorized the deck, so when Jimmy cut it, he knew "how many cards were cut" by the card that was shown, the "shuffle" was a fake shuffle. The 2 of Hearts could have been done several ways, but it's likely while the guy was holding the card in his hand thinking about it (backstage) he went through the deck real quick to see which card was missing (it's also possible the deck was marked and he knew the card by looking at it). He then replaced it on the deck after the cut was made (when he flipped it upside down). There's probably a YouTube video of the trick somewhere out there.

Uhh, I don't think the bulbs in the applause sign nor the audience is the problem here. :lol :lol

*hint, it might just be fallon/the writers.

y'all should be ashamed
Here's the weird thing: during the Regis interview yesterday, the audience gave a small laugh and then the sound was cut out immediately from the audience, but Jimmy was still talking. I rewound it several times and sure enough, the audience laugh "glitches" out like someone pressed stop.

I know it's common to add laughs to most shows, but egads was that hugely apparent.

Start at 17:28 and it's a few seconds later:

Looks almost prerecorded when Regis could come in. And pretend audience is there.

I think he's gonna do fine. He's got his own totally unthreatening style. Still will never understand the roots agreeing to be on but hey.

I'm on a commercial break but I just some some whack volcano god skit... this show is pretty bad :S No idea how Fallon landed such a prestigious position... He should stick to SNL type shows.

I enjoyed the episode when Fallon had the animal specialist guest on. Was the animal guy trying to kill him on purpose? I kept rewinding that segment.

Tuned back in a few times this past week. Fallon still can't adequately perform a monologue, and he knows it, because he's only up there for a short time. Sure, the comatose audience doesn't help, but neither does the fact that he's so obviously wrapped up in reading the teleprompter (squinting his eyes and everything) that he forgets to give the joke some delivery. Also, sometimes he even fails to read the teleprompter correctly, resulting in a few verbal gaffes before sputtering out into a lame awkward pause.

Also, his interviews seem to consist of him being wildly enthusiastic and laughing like a little schoolboy at everything the interviewee has to say. We get it, man, you're having fun, now take a chill pill.

I'm afraid Fallon will never amount to anything of substance, which is a shame. I can't wait until June.

I think Jimmy is doing great. This is the first time I've actually gone out of my way to watch a late night TV show and if I miss it I catch it on Hulu the next day. (Love Conan too)

So does anyone know what Tim and Eric did a couple nights ago that pissed off Questlove so much?

Probably throwing chocolate on his drumkit. They threw it EVERYWHERE.

Did he Twitter that or something? I was wondering that when they did it I was like "Oh fuck, man, that chocolate just hit his drum kit..."

I figured out my main problem with Fallon, by the way. When he has comedy people on that I love (Wiig, Tim & Eric) instead of just leading them into good bits (which he still does), he wastes like two or three minutes of the interview telling them what his favorite stuff of theirs is and then doing his little version of them and then they do a little back-version. It's annoying.

Other than that, though, I am charmed by his ceaseless enthusiasm. But I don't like that now there's beef between Quest and Tim & Eric.

I love you both!
