Is that fanart? Cause I don't remember Motoko being that stacked.
She got pretty stacked in season 2

Some of the on set pics look good. I can see this turn out ok.
Ironically, I think the Wachowskis would've been perfect directing this film.
Well cyberpunk was pioneered by Neuromancer and popularized by GitS and blew up by Matrix.
If Wachowskis still want to do cyberpunk, they can go get the film right of Neuromancer.
It is the best.
Was talking about all of it. I prefer the Major's demeanor in the manga. It's the reason I like the manga more than the movies/show. The Major is too cold in the latter.
Gaf, what do you think Major Kusanagi and Batou will be renamed to in the movie? Personally, I think Maya Kusiewicz and Barry is plausible.
White People in the Shell.
Looks pretty big to me
Well, you can be Japanese and Caucasian... they are not mutually exclusive (one is a race, the other is a nationality). I've read the comic in the past, watched the original film, watched SAC and he has always been a white guy often with blonde hair. It's been well over a decade since I've seen anything in this series -- maybe, I missed something, but if you asked 100 people who've seen GITS, 99 would call Batou a white guy.
All you need to know. Her robot body makes sweet sweet love to women once randomlyLooks pretty good. I know nothing about ghost in the shell though.
They're doing a laughing man story. This is going to be terrible.
Don't understand how people say ScarJo fits or looks like Major, she isn't intimidating at all.
Neither is the Major unless she is intending to be. For crying out loud, she gets mistaken for a "service" bot one time when she accompanied the Old Apeface.
But ScarJo isn't capable of being intimidating when she intends to be either.
Is her stand in her twin or something? They look identical.
Batou: "Togusa, let's go murder them"
It's the future!! It's whacky!!!The extras in this move are going to wear some weird stuff

What really gets me is I would be 100% fine if Scarlett was the main character, they need an A-list celebrity to sell a film that's already taking more risks than an average Hollywood film, in which there aren't exactly many actors to choose from. So that's not the issue. But to have the supporting characters also be white? I dunno, that really doesn't sit right with me. Hoping for either a narrative justification or better, to be proven wrong and most of the supporting cast end up being Asian.
Scarlett Johansson as The Major
Pilou Asbæk as Batou
Michael Pitt as The Laughing Man[2]
Takeshi Kitano as Daisuke Aramaki
Juliette Binoche as Dr. Ouelet[3]
Rila Fukushima
Kaori Momoi
Chin Han
Danusia Samal
Lasarus Ratuere
Yutaka Izumihara
Tuwanda Manyimo
I don't think they're trying to make her look Asian. A simple haircut is hardly "yellow face" and looking at the extras, their Hong Kong (or where ever it takes place in the context of the movie) seems rather diverse.
I did a cast list in a previous thread. Most of the supporting characters are not white from what I remember. Or It's about 50/50.
From Wikipedia for quick reference.
The top billed are definitely white though.
it is no where as bad as this, but I have to admit, I did get a gut reaction when I saw the photos. Like "is she squinting to look Asian?"
The laughing man plot was the best part of SAC, although I never really understood what was going on.
