"Yep and you must also not like succeeding at real sports either."

I hate bigots as much as the next reasonable guy, but this line is just dumb. If you don't call his UFC run a success, then I don't know what success is.

Unfortunately saying shit like this doesn't mean career suicide. That's pretty shameful. However, that's ten years old. People can change. Don't know if he did or didn't, but he could.

Someone posted the original ESPN article. It's just the first thing that came up when I searched. I would expect great editorial from that site.

I've got no problems with Lesnar taking the streak, I just wish it was the Omega Lesnar that he's capable of being.

He's lost quite a bit recently and was shaking in his boots during the build. And then in the match it was basically just a bit of back and forth and reversal to slip in the win. Both guys came off weak to me which is a shame.

I would have totally eaten up a monster Brock who had been smashing fools left and right for some time now finally putting Taker down. Brock controls and punishes Taker most of the match, Taker gets a flurry and expectations are that here comes 22-0, and then Brock thwarts the comeback and ends him once and for all.

Maybe that's what they were going for and didn't execute it well or I missed some clues, but I just don't get what story they were trying to tell with this, or if there was any story at all. I mean come on. It's the Undertaker. He should have been carried off by the entire locker room or been a casket match where he's dumped in and then when they open the lid he's gone, never to be seen again.

Or maybe I'm missing the poetry of it. The biggest kayfabe buy in the bizz ending his legendary career with a simple no nonsense loss and walking off.

He is.

I find it mind-boggling that GAF dumps on people like Lesnar all the time because of their beliefs but he gets a free pass.

"Bu-bu-bu- he's legit tough, guys! He's so huge!"

Who cares? He's a huge xenophobic douche.

I can separate his performance in the ring from the real person, but I would never call myself a fan of the guy. Like I said I think as a person he is a total dick.

As a newcomer (last two years) to the WWE, I think I have a very different perspective than some of you veterans. It's even more fun with my 9-year-old son, who's a total smark. And we had several friends over to watch via the Network, one who watches everything, and one who hasn't watched in a decade. We had incredible fun last night, and that was by far my favorite PPV so far.

Daniel Bryan vs Triple H - From the throne entrance to Stephanie to the incredible finish, this may have been my favorite match of the night. Just perfect.

Shield vs Kane+NAO - I love The Shield, and think this lasted just about as long as it needed to, with the proper outcome. NAO can go away now, thx.

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale - My heart wanted Cesaro to win, but my head told me they'd waste it on someone like Sheamus. That ending with him lifting Big Show over the rope, combined with the Real Americans break-up (?) in the pre-show, made for an amazing evening for Cesaro. He had an interview on the latest Cheap Heat podcast, which was excellent, BTW.

Cena vs Bray - Great-looking match for both of them. All three Wyatts were solid gold here, despite the #CenaWinsLOL finish. Don't even care, though, and I can't wait to see what the Wyatts do next.

Brock vs Undertaker - As a newbie to wrestling, I don't GAF about Taker. His match against Punk last year was weaksauce, and this was even worse. I'm be thrilled if he never returned, and I'd love to see more Brock/Heyman on my TV/Network. This was, by far, the match that all six of us were the least interested in, and enjoyed the least. All those salty tears last night and on into today are glorious.

Diva Invitational - This was more fun than I expected, and way more enjoyable than the Taker match. I didn't catch Naomi's double-tapping at the end, but I'm assuming it leads to something tonight. Would love to see Paige run in.

Batista vs Orton vs Bryan - Superb all the way around and throughout. Orton and Batista did what they did, HHH and Stephanie were glorious with the messing-with-officials thing, and Bryan carried the rest. Orton landing on that monitor looked awful. Couldn't tell if he was legit hurt or just selling.

So, yeah, enjoyed thoroughly, don't care about Taker, and cannot wait for tonight. #TonightsTheNight

Probably.

I imagine we'll have a HUGE shit storm in this thread when Heyman or Bryan kick off RAW.

Which I think has been discussed, but:

  1. Was the Taker loss to overshadow Bryan's win? Which do you consider to be the bigger moment of WM 30?
  2. Was Brock's win over Taker, with Heyman in his corner a real "Fuck You!" to CM Punk?!

Come ooooonnnn.

It was a) creating a big HOLY SHIT moment on the Network and b) shifting the unstoppable WM guy gimmick from one part timer to another. Now whoever Brock fights at WM next year is a big fucking deal.

Yeah but Lesner lost to Goldberg so he's not undefeated at Mania.

Being such a big UFC fan, it's probably likely that Undertaker wanted the streak to end to a legitimate real fighter like Brock.

Punk had better Feud and Match than Lesner. He deserved more than Lesner period.
That match would have had zero build hadn't Paul Bearer had died.

As for the match, I'm not sure why you are so headstrong in putting blame for its quality because of Lesnar. Everything Undertaker did offensively had to be set up by Lesnar in some fashion. He couldn't move or perform his moves at all. He was practically immobile compared to year's past.

Uhhhhhh, I haven't followed wrestling in years but I'm seeing quite a bit of this Undertaker streak thing on my FB feed and other places online. Help me understand what's the big deal here, GAF? It's all pre-fabricated anyway so the streak is ultimately meaningless?

Finally watched Wrasslemania after avoiding internet and spoilers all day
Legit shook about Undertaker. Did not see that coming. Terrible match tho. Also, is Undertaker sick? He looked like he had lesions or something and he was definitely struggling all match :(
Old age has definitely caught up with him.
EDIT: concussion explains so much but he still looked ill.
There is no doubt in my mind that Bryan is now the number one man, Cena has been relegated (long overdue).

I really enjoyed the show last night. The stream was great, and for me, really justified my Network purchase. There were a couple of lulls but for the most part it was one of the better WrestleManias I've seen.

It became a huge thing. He won in every match for over 21 years, it's the end of an era and no-one expected it to happen. Even if it is fabricated, it would be like the end of your favorite TV show that had been running for 21 years.

Brock is a walking, talking heel. No one is saying he isn't.

I love that he brings up baseball streaks because EVERYONE cares/loves baseball. I like baseball, but I think people care about a streak if they are invested in it somehow. I respect the Undertaker's streak, not because if the number, but he because it means he has done this 22 times. 22 years of putting your body on the line on the biggest show they got is a very admirable thing.

If you're going to shit on him I hope you shit on Datsyuk too.

Taker should retire. I just wish the build up to the end of the streak was more properly handled, and I wish his last match didn't end up being one of his worst WM matches.

So what are we hoping for/getting tonight?

- New WWE logo in the bottom left?
- New WWE WHC belt?
- D Bry with haircut?
- D Bry with nice, clean shave?

New Logo, that's about the best we can hope for. D-Bry will probably just walk out with one belt, no telling which one though.

Of all the people they have Taker lose his streak to at Mania, it's fucking Lesnar. The most uninteresting wrestling persona imaginable.

Pack it up guys, Wrestling is well and truly done.

Only thing I'm betting on is a new logo in the corner. They might officially retire the old WHC belt and go with only the WWE title belt now though. We aren't going to see a completely new belt though since the current WWE belt is still pretty new.

I've always wanted to do this: See you next Monday... wait. See you tonight. Damn, I knew I'd screw it up.

He's one of their biggest draws. I think wrestling will be fine despite the fact that one of the oldest people on the roster lost a match.

Could Lesnar be the new Undertaker? He shows up a few times a year, doesn't talk much, dominates in the ring and has a fat, creepy manager.

Right?

I think he's interesting. Him and Paul work great together.

I know you're probably just kidding about wrestling being well and done, but I don't think this should have any effect on the future. The streak is a relic of the past. It's time to move forward and cheer on our hero and savior of the WWE, John Cena.
