Btw, sales figures don't lie. DmC fans are the vocal minority, not the true DMC fans that have carried the franchise for 15 years

Lol DMC5 by Ninja Theory fuck outta here with that garbage.

Ninja Theory can't design good combat or stable framerates. 2 things that are key for a DMC game.

DmC had good combat especially the Definitive Edition; after what they've learned with DmC, they're more than capable of making DMC5.

If it was a garbage game it would have been forgotten already and remembered with a laugh every now and then like DMC2 but the fact that DmC ended up being bloody brilliant with a fanbase is what seem to grind some gears.

Bloody brilliant is pretty bloody generous.

Anyway, I welcome it. Maybe now they'll understand why it's frustrating to be part of a demonized and marginalized fanbase.

People should really take a look at this:
I'm not sure what this means.

It had improved Combat from DmC.

Even the Definitive Edition was no where as deep or as amazing as Devil May Cry 4's.

That and they improved something that had already had been improved greatly by the Fan Community and basically added Fan Mods.

Nothing shows they are on the level of reproducing something as amazing as DMC4's combat.

Yeah ok because I didn't play a locked 60 PC version.

But for real though I'll still play this. I'm just not as weird as some people and really like both of the styles of DMC.

Yo... please be true, please be motherflowering true. Capcom por favor give me DMC5 with Señor Dante returning to slay these chupacabras with that Ebony & Ivory infinite devil crying bullets. Let me make it rain hellfire

Needless to say, I hope that when DMC5 does get announced (not sure what's the worst kept secret at Capcom, RE7 or DMC5) that mods do something about DMC vs DmC stuff shitting up the threads. From both sides.

I don't mean don't give your opinion on either game but people just coming in to say "Lol this sucks should be DmC2 the old franchise is for losers" which leads to replies like "Lol DmC sucks fuck off you idiot" (hyperbolic examples I know) just does nothing.

You act as if they're necessarily 2 different camps.

You can like both and don't have to draw lines in the sand.

The issue is that there's really not enough room for both series. Advocating for one is also advocating for the death of the other, and this was reiterated by Itsuno in post-mortem interviews. It's an unfortunate reality, but Capcom has pit both fanbases against each other, even if inadvertently.

Are we really still having DmC vs DMC arguments in 2016? It's time for both sides to let it go.
Please return to the dark atmosphere of DMC1. I love all of the games but the cartoony look and feel of DMC4 was kind of a turn off.
I would be down for this. I'm happy with the direction the franchise went with DMC3 but I always kind of wished we could have seen more of what Kamiya's vision for the franchise might have been. There seems like so much untapped potential for an interesting world in the DMC1 concept art.

Well at this point there really is no secret about a dmc5 given all the hints here and there over the last few months. I don't expect to see it next week though since I imagine this is still very early. Maybe a teaser later this year.

If people wanna read it like that, go right ahead.

Whether it's DmC2 or DMC5 or 5CmD or whatever the fuck, let it happen. Because let's be honest: Capcom needs some homeruns, because anything less is certain doom for them either way.

If they do decide to go with the DMC5 route, I can imagine a reveal trailer with old Dante making fun of the reboot Dante or something, lots of companies are jumping on the "deadpool" type of comedy.

I really hope they don't. I want them to forget about it and move on. DmC already did a jab at it's counterpart and it'll be just as tacky and annoying if DMC5 did it.

The question is how much will Itsuno suffer from losing Neo_G.

I agree that Platnium has never made anything on the level of DMC 4's combat or DMC 3 as an Overall game.

Neo_G only worked on DMC2 and DMC4. He's not as integral to the series as people believe. Yoichiro Ikeda, Mamoru Ohhashi, Norimasa Sankoda and Jean-Christophe Hideaki Maeda however have been with the series since DMC2. Also, Oni-S and Masaki Moritsugu joined with DMC4 and also worked on Dragon's Dogma. Oni-S was also part of the Capcom team involved with DmC. DMC5 will be more than fine.

I enjoyed DmC on PC but I just cannot conceive of any argument that pegs it better than the original series. 3 has a better story, which is what ninja theory were brought in for, the platforming was boring and the levels ultra linear with no interesting puzzles/item swaps. The combat gameplay stuff kind of goes without saying. What it acquired in accessibility it lost in depth and skill ceiling.

I'd rather not descend into constant antagonising, but this is the reaction they made with their marketing and the reasoning behind the changes (essentially saying the OG series was "gay").

If you enjoyed DmC then there's likely to be a lot in a new title you'll enjoy regardless of whether it's a continuation of that story.

It's not up for interpretation. It was confirmed in an interview. There was a lot of speculation about this leading up to the release of DmC and DMC4SE, and people were often called for jumping to conclusions about how "why not both". We now know.

You played a game with gameplay designed for 30 fps at 60fps.
Congrats have a cookie.

See this is why I don't bother with DmC fans. You don't have standards for combat. What DMC, Ninja Gaiden, and Bayonetta fans expect from their games is combat that raises the standard. Good is not good enough, we expect great. You just want a game to play once and move on to the next. We want something with fighting game depth that we can analyze, learn, and play for months or years.

That is why I said it was a maybe. Neo_G could have added a good amount to DMC 4 and given Dante and Nero in MvC 3 I can totally believe it or he was actually a very minor part and Itsuno will be fine.

I trust Itsuno either way but I don't think we can say one way or another he had no major effect on 4.

I'm not saying there should be 2 series.

I'm saying people need to let this civil war end and pray Capcom actually has a plan for this series. Again, I don't care who makes the next one, because with the exception of 2, I've liked all of them.

So you are saying that I'm not a ''real'' Devil May Cry fan for liking DmC?
