Do you watch a lot of anime o_O
Come on. You shouldn't judge people's taste.

That said. I am judging your taste, Jack Remington.
Iron-Blooded Orphans is pretty cool, but it has major flaws that should put it behind a lot shows with less issues in my opinion.

I don't care what people like, but the man said it is one his favorite anime seasons ever. So of course I had to ask how much he has watched. its note even in the top for gundam series.

I don't really see many flaws, to be honest.

I'd rate it a solid 9/10.

Not the best Gundam doesn't mean it can't be a favorite. I could have multiple Gundam shows in my top 10.

If I really thought about it, it might slip out of the top 10, but it definitely wouldn't fall out of the top 20.

Let it be known that this is my first Gundam show if you don't count the vastly different Gundam Build Fighters, so I can't compare it to it's predecessors. The beginning was so strong, with all the action and the unusual characters who weren't even trying to be nice to their enemies. I squealed in glee when they slaughtered their superiors and took the business over and laughed when Mika wasn't even let the knight finish his dying speech. However it struggled a bit after they departed, the villains weren't really all that engaging, other from being slightly amusingly ham. Somewhere in the middle the pacing just felt odd and I feel some events could've been handled more subtle.

The villains were never the focus of the show anyway. It's always been about Tekkadan's journey with a side focus on Gaelio and McGillis. The weakest point of the show was when they shifted the focus away from that onto the rebellion on the Dort colonies.

Pretty solid ending, I don't really have any big complaints about the first season. It was all mostly enjoyable. Bonus points for knocking off Biscuit, who was pretty annoying. I would also say I didn't care for Merribit's character development during the later stages of the season. It was a very forced and unnecessary. The audience didn't need to be beat over the head with her dialogue to understand what was happening with Tekkadan.

Looking forward to it next season being poop as is the Gundam way.

So the scene where Kudelia was on a live broadcast holding that dying girl after the massacre was pretty powerful, but then the show went in kind of a different direction than I was expecting after that.

that ending was pretty mediocre. There was no tie in to season two outside of mcgillis and that was it. Feels like 00 second season all over again, aka bad

Ride and Takaki are taller than I thought, actually everyone is taller than I thought even Mika.

Seems like DTL already has the S2 PV covered for me.

We got an October 2nd return date announced. Little later than maybe I'd like, but around when I think we expected it. Got a few upgraded MS designs, A new MS Suit kit that is almost assuredly a Gusion ReBAKE update and the new Barbatos. You can find that stuff in the usual places.

I'll update the OP with the return date soon and might give it a makeover for Season 2. Given Season 2 is just being billed as Season 2 and doesn't have a new title/new show status, I see no reason to give it a whole new topic unless you guys are really desperate for it. If there's a big outcry to start fresh, I'll throw it together, but otherwise my plan is to stick here.

I wonder if Liarina pilots that gundam eventually? She doesn't seem quite as useless as Kudelia. I'd love to get a kit of it, that rifle is dope. Those characters have all been introduced in the manga though. :p

New Season 2 trailer!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8tHqYrzf34 (First 90 seconds are a recap of Season 1)

approximate translation from reddit said:
Some time has passed, and the world has changed, not much, but definitely. In the confusing situation Tekkadan has become a rapidly growing company off their achievements. However Gjallarhorn has lost reliability/dependability and the world's order is worsening. Tekkadan's success demonstrated the usefulness of child soldiers. Because of this, a large amount of child soldiers have been sent into the battlefield. This world where powerless children can bloom continues.

Orga: Don't worry, we are Tekkadan.

I don't have elegant ideals or a strong will. We can't protect our place (where we are) without moving forward since we have nothing to return to (he says they have no "base" or "foundation").

Mika: As long as Orga doesn't stop I won't. Now and from now.
Opening will be done by SPYAIR, and ending by Granrodeo.
