these launches are always front loaded with early adopters. its the months afterwards where we'll see if they keep that momentum going.
I believe it was anywhere between 20 to 50 depending on how much traffic each store got and I even read about a store or two getting upwards of 70

GameStop had 500,000 total Wii U units at launch, all pre ordered.
1.2 million games were preordered too
https://twitter.com/zhugeex/status/820743683402240001The initial pre order allocation for Wii U also sold out very quickly at GameStop. With 250,000 left on a waiting list for the second batch.
[Means nothing, the Wii U was also out of stock]
Frontloaded with people who buy them to just resell for stupid prices.these launches are always front loaded with early adopters. its the months afterwards where we'll see if they keep that momentum going.
As we all know, shortages at launch guarantee a successful console.
Can wait for Pokemon month Numbers. This is going to be fun.
So is this good? Bad? Means nothing?
Never doubted Switch outselling on launch, since Breath of the Wild is a really strong launch game for core gamers who potentially are also willing to pay a good chunk of money for new hardware. However, I wonder what happens in April once the Zelda hype has slowed down.
I know you're just parodying possible replies, but was it? Don't know the situation in the US, but when I walked during the afternoon into a German Saturn market and saw tons of unsold Wii Us on launch day, it dawned on me that the console will utterly flop.
Agree... LololNintendo really is a cartoon company, because those numbers will be cartoonishly silly.
Can someone explain this photo?
I laugh everytime I see it, but I need to know the story behind it.
Really wish this would stop.

Same with 3DS and Wii... Not a problem in the real world. My god at people trying to derail every single positive Switch thread. It's hilarious and pathetic at the same time.

Same in Spain, I do not know of any retailers that have exhausted their allotment.
It is pretty shocking that it took as long as it did to sell out. I remember checking websites tye day after and most sites still had it available. This is looking like another WiiU situation where it sold out of preorder allotments but took a long time each time.
I wonder if this thing will be able to hit 1 million in the US before E3.

Lady buys shit loads of WiiU to scalp. Realizes it's not as rare of a commodity as Wii, and folks just LOLed at her while she ran to ebay. ebay took down her listing too.

The Nintendo 3DS is going to be a success!
So some lady bought 6 Wii U's to scalp.
This picture has always been stupid

The 3DS was a success though. I understand what you mean but that's an awful example.https://mynintendonews.com/2011/03/...sales-record-with-the-nintendo-3ds-in-the-us/

Can't find it but didn't Nintendo tell us months ago how many units were being prepared for launch? It may have been the investors meeting.
Are you outside the us?Fuck, I hope mine still have some, I've to go this week.
