The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt trailer - 1080p HQ version

No. You have to play at least the second one first, and I'd recommend both. Bear in mind that they are cheap to get and the saves can be imported for plot events from one to the next. Very possible it might happen from 2 to 3 as well.

Or yanno. . .read the plot points on Wikipedia.

TIf you mean with fix a lot of games, that you need to tinker around a lot with graphical settings to get good stable performance?. which costs time and is annoying? well nobody forces you, just put the setting on lowest ( that's why its there ) and have a blast running the game on console quality. "it's also called coded to the metal or optimizing in console land"

I giggle when I hear them say that crap when what they mean to say is turn the fidelity down a notch... along with resolution.

Do you guys think the GTX 780 or Titan can handle this on Ultra @1080p + 60fps (or close to 60fps)?

Let me consult my crystal ball of future things that we know nothing about right now.

It said "ask again later."

Seriously though. No idea. They'll most likely put out recommended specs before release.

That's always a silly question since it totally depends on what they chose to call "Ultra". I.e. they could implement 4xSGSSAA in the game and include it in "Ultra", or they could not. Bam! (Almost) factor 4 difference in hardware requirements for Ultra!

You could disable that in TW2. I'm sure you can in TW3 as well. I also think it makes everything look nasty... but I can still see all the crazy awesome stuff they're doing underneath that sharpening filter. So I'm hopeful.
I hope they have a simple "sharpening filter on/off" checkbox this time around, from the start, and don't link it with anything else.

Why do they insist on showing the game with the sharpen filter on? I fear for how this game will look on Xbox One.

Heh. Well, SGSSAA support would be fantastic but I'm not getting my hopes up. I hope we get more options than edge-AA (which did nothing) or 4xSSAA (or whatever ubersampling was). Not much in between there :p

Looks truly next-gen. This is the best complement anyone could give it.

There are only 2 next-gen games in development that I acknowledge:

- The Witcher 3
- The Division

You forgot about Uncharted. Granted, we haven't seen any in-game screens yet. But it's Naughty Dog, and there is about 0 chance that it won't blow your fucking mind.

This game looks absolutely amazing, even better now that we have a decent quality trailer too.

And don't worry people, the PS4 version will look fine. There might be some small graphical differences but the game will still look pretty much like it does in this trailer. The fur is really the big question mark at this point (since it's using nvidia tech) so you might get something more like this instead:

But that's not the end of the world.

Or we can get the Tress FX 2.0 which has hair, grass and fur physics: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=713230

It won't be impossible since they began to use it on Tomb Raider Definitive Version. Also showcasing latest Witcher 3 trailer with fur physics while previous ones didn't have it means that all versions will feature it probably.

Oh and nice troll comment and pic btw.

Or, it means they hadn't implemented the tech yet.

Yeah forgot about ubersampling. I think without that it should be okay. :p

Troll comment... right, thank you very much for that. The gist of it was that the PS4 version will look fine but you choose to focus on the one potentially negative part and you completely ignored the reasoning behind it. The reason I think the fur might be more simple in the PS4 version isn't because fur is impossible to do, but specifically because it's using Nvidia tech (as I mentioned in the post). If they wanted to implement Tress FX then why not use that for all versions? Why implement Nvidia tech if they are going to implement a platform agnostic technology as well? Unless perhaps the Nvidia tech is far superior, in which case the fur might still be downgraded although not to the same extent. But hey, I'm obviously just a troll so what do I know.

I hate this.

Every time I think I'm ready to game exclusively on consoles, some douchebag developer comes along and tries to push PC hardware by making a game that looks absolutely gorgeous.

*Sigh* Guess I'll just have to upgrade my PC soon.

You can never escape the master race.

I haven't played any of the previous Witcher titles (which is ridiculous seeing I'm a big RPG fan) but this looks incredible. It's up there with Destiny as my most anticipated next gen title.

Compute-wise, there should be no downgrade, the platform is very capable in this area. What worry me is framerate and IQ. Please don't be 720 or 900p.

800$ PC, next year, should be enough
I can survive the 30fps hit in this kind of game, though.

I pity the poor person who thinks they are going to run this at 60fps on a 800 dollar PC

unless your talking about someone looking to upgrade their graphics card only

why the hell would you want to game exclusively on a console if you have a PC?

Seems not too far off.

My PC can play Witcher 2, but definitely not this. And I already bought a PS4 so I suppose I'll have to play it on there.

I wonder if there will be a way for us to import our Witcher 2 save from PC to PS4.

Game looks absolutely stunning, the effects and texture resolution looks superb... THE ONLY thing I would like to see CDPR do is get the witcher guy in a MOCAP suit, he could do with some Last of us style movement smoothing and some slightly better facial realism, its not down to textures but mocap would improve. Dont want to think im playing a computer game, when im playing a computer game damnit :D

I really hope, for CDPR's sake, that this is a RDR/Skyrim level success. This looks like it could be the breakout game for them.

My most anticipated game of next year. Can't wait. Played both Witcher games, and making my way through the novels right now. Recently finished The Last Wish.

Ahhhhh!!!! Fuck me I hope the PS4 version looks even close. I'd prefer to play on PS4 but if not hopefully my 770 will do this game justice.. It was amazing what CDPR managed to pull off with the Witcher 2 on 360 though ,so I have immense faith.

Not gonna do 10 mil, but I think more people are gonna know who they are after this. It's gonna hit all three platforms at once and will probably be one of the first next gen rpgs that we'll get.

I'm praying my new GTX 760 will at least run this on medium settings at 30 frames per second.

My most optimistic hope is that it somehow does five million, which would be scratching at the mainstream consciousness. That would probably pave the way for Cyberpunk 2077 to do truly massive numbers.
