Well, we've finally setlled on the long-awaited name of this podcast: LAN Party! This week, the 1UP PC gang talks up Fallout 3 and Mirror's Edge, in between tangents about girl gamers' own crazy perceptions about themselves, the weird stuff that listeners sent recently, and what exactly gets co-host Ryan Scott goin' in the morning.

The Cast: Ryan, Tina, Matt, Robert and Anthony.

How about a public uproar to get them to change it? Sounds like the name of a college Weezer cover band.

I believe it's Local Area Network, though I may be wrong.

But that's no fun. Let's make our own explanation for the acronym.

I would offer a suggestion, but I'm creatively bankrupt right now.

Pop Musik was from "M"

2. now that Shawn has popped in to add some internet jollies to the thread, I think the whole podcast experience is complete.

3. Fallout talk is starting. suh-weet!

I can't tell you all that much at the moment. The Gamers with Jobs guys invited me on next week's show so there might be some teasers there along with general game chat. As for LAN party, well yeah it's Bobito, Chuff, Matt, Ryan, etc. so it's not like I thought they'd tank.

Name isn't as chuff you in the face as Brodeo... but it will grow on us.

What we need now is to have them stumble across an awesome new word and that can be "our" name for it... like the Brodeo.

Getting ready to tell us how a third/first person squad based shooter is the "logical evolution" of X-Com's deeply tactical, turn based combat?

Of course, I'm mostly teasing.

Will you be talking about your specific role on the project? I think you said you were a Creative Director there, but I guess that title is slightly inconsistent from studio to studio. Are you focused more on the writing?

Any word on the studio putting out a series of podcasts like they did with BioShock when the project is announced?

The name works - simple, catchy, descriptive, and with a double-meaning! Sure, LAN parties are a staple of PC gaming, but the podcast itself is also a party w00t w00t :D

Yeah might be, I can't remember, I tried to search before I posted but I couldn't find it.

EDIT: Just checked, you're right. I must have gotten confused with someone else I guess. Sorry, disregard my post.

No way he would have started as Creative Director. Its the most sought after position in any creative company.

Wouldn't Ken Levine be the Creative Director of whatever project he's working on?
There are associate and assistant creative directors at many companies. But I guess Levine would be the director of the project.

It was my mistake anyway.

How about lan party talks about this radical game next week:

Popped up in OT earlier today and i was playing online with a bunch of GAFers during some meetings at work. It's great if co-workers can't see your monitor, because it sounds like you are working furiously.

Only on the pc, folks.

I've actually played that quite a bit. I love typing games. Maybe it's a hold over from all the edutainment stuff I was forced to play as a child.

There was none of this election celebrating where I'm from. I heard a lot of "commie," "black guyz" and "socialist" being thrown around.
