It's interesting.
It's kind of commendable that Sony tries to buy into these type of franchises by paying for development. Spider-Man, Street Fighter V, etc.
But it can kinda bite them in the ass...Microsoft is doing it smarter by getting established and critically acclaimed games after they are out, like PUBG, while we really have no idea if Spider-Man will do well or have trouble sticking the landing like Street Fighter V.
I am very excited as a life-long Spider-Man fan. Takes a certain kind of dedication to be reared on Maximum Carnage and the original Clone Saga and still fall in love with a character.
That is a good question.Wow! Will we ever get that extended gameplay?
So when we count the AAA amazing super Hero games, Batman is certainly one of them.
I feel like Spiderman is about to have that light like how the Arkham games have.
I wonder what Rocksteady is doing next.
I wasn't even aware there was a ban. Hopefully we get something good out of it. From a narrative and gameplay perspective, there's so much that can be done so I'd love to see a developer handle them like Rocksteady handled BatmanWith the ban ending, we may get an X-Men game after Avengers & Guardians.
They must've been pushing that thing as an ad.

This thread reminded my that, even after all of these amazing PS4 exclusives lately, we're still getting a AAA open world Spider-man by Insomniac, The Last of Us 2, Shadow of the Colossus remake, Media Molecule's Dreams, Death Stranding, and possibly Horizon 2, a new Fumito Ueda game, etc.

Even if the game is only decent it's going to do insane numbers. It's actually more scary to think how well this game could sell if it's great and is released close to Avengers Infinity War too.
What's the best selling exclusive game (not inc. bundled) these past ten or so years anyway?
Not trying to downplay this news but Isn't "Spiderman" and "Elza" two keywords that magically bring millions of views because kids and stuff?
I hope they spell Spider-Man correctly on the cover because god knows no one seems to be capable of doing so.
The Marvel-imposed X-Men/F4 ban, which you can learn more about here. The X-Men part of the ban ended not too long ago.
It's the Spider-Man YouTube thing. Putting Spider-Man in the title of your video is guaranteed views. I have a YouTube channel that I use for some random PS4 clips and some old Shadowplay stuff. Most videos have less than 200 views, with some videos having 0. I put up a 3 minute video of me ducking around with Ultimate Spider-Man on PC and it has over 10,000. Every few weeks I'll get a comment telling me I suck.
Nope
Yep, with how crazy this game is hyped, it's going to reach 10M super easily.People who think this doesn't have a chance at 10m if all goes right have NO idea what they are talking about.
I know, man. I know.You suck
I think I like it better with third party. All the more reason first party studios should be doing licensed games with proper budgets and release schedules.
New Ueda PS4 game? Is that some kind of remotely realistic possibility? This thread reminded my that, even after all of these amazing PS4 exclusives lately, we're still getting a AAA open world Spider-man by Insomniac, The Last of Us 2, Shadow of the Colossus remake, Media Molecule's Dreams, Death Stranding, and possibly Horizon 2, a new Fumito Ueda game, etc.
Still like a 25% chance of that happening. The Marvel-imposed X-Men/F4 ban, which you can learn more about here. The X-Men part of the ban ended not too long ago.

10m on one platform is kinda crazy.
That's CoD level of sales?
