SKINNER!

Konami just decided they'd fuck us over along with the UK.

Pretty sure its government taxes that fuck us over. Not Konami. Coupled with shipping and custom/import taxes, It would be silly for Konami to sell a CE for less in the UK/AUS just to accomodate to the country's high VAT rates and keep the price of the CE the same worldwide.

I don't know about the UK, but the tax rate in Australia is 10%. The AU markup is about 75% more on the EU price. I don't know if the EU price is tax inclusive, but assuming it isn't, it costs them 65% more to ship it to Australia? Uh, yeah, no.

It's price gouging through and through, something that's not unheard of for games here, but especially bad in this instance.

Still available for Xbox One on Amazon.com.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

So, I pre-ordered 1 JP premium edition, 1 US collector's edition, 1 MGS V: TPP PS4 console edition
And still waiting for that WIRED × METAL GEAR SOLID V PHANTOM PAIN watch from Seiko to goes up for pre-order.
Did I miss anything? xD

Where the did you pre-order the console? I have been on top of this extensiley and have not seen anything. I'm ready to buy that ASAP.

I have 2 JP Premium Packages and 2 US CE on order I can't go have that arm on my desk area.

Anyone know if this will be available at other stores in the US? I really want to get this and know i'm going to be mad at myself if I miss out. Already missed amazon because of work.

Yes:

The CE edition, while limited, isn't limited to just Amazon. Each retailer has their own timetables, and more CEs will be made available once retailers place them within their systems.

I suggest you keep checking retailers for available pre-order copies.

Every time I see this thread bumped, I hope that Best Buy put up the CE. Would be nice if that happened soon.

Trust me, you're not the only one. I keep checking the site for an update.

Same.

I really want that GCU discount

Yet at the same time... I realize how stupid it is to spend all this time anxious for $20 and change in savings.

any chances of gamestop.com releasing the CE edition any time soon?

It's going to happen... just nobody knows when. It could be tomorrow, a few days, a month, it doesn't come out for months yet so they can pretty much announce pre orders whenever they want.

Got word from an inside of GS. Take this with a grain of salt. Pre orders open today. He said 3:00 PM which in my area is exactly in 2 hours and 45 minutes. Prepare your wallets if youre going to pre order in store or online. Keep those fingers on the F5 button.

10% maybe the sales taxes that is being charged in Australia to consumers, but there is also import tax, which is based on the material the item is made out of?
Additional items may include:
storing of product,
additional tax AUS govt may impose on them
freight charges

There is no import tax that significant. This thing is literally paper and plastic dude. The regular 10% GST is payable. And the rest of these possible reasons sounds almost like grasping at straws, to be honest.

I don't trust Best Buy at all. =/

So hopefully I don't have to buy this collectors edition marked up to $150-200 on ebay or something after the release. I can't believe I missed every pre-order so far.

My thoughts were based on shipping based in US, and how many agencies in the US are involved with the importation of products. I don't know how shipping works in AUS, so take what I have said with a grain of salt.

Ended up cancelling both my Xbone and PS4 pre-orders for the CE. I just didn't want any of the stuff in it, the UK price is ridiculous, and I'm expecting it to be oversupplied anyway.

Yeah I'm doing the same, was super hyped for that arm when I stupidly thought it was the 1:1 replica, 1:2 is bullshit though and not worth the extra money.

Konami just decided they'd fuck us over along with the UK.

Here's the price for the CE in each region converted to AU$:
US $130
EU $140
UK $200
AU $250

It's incredibly frustrating trying to get a hold of this at a reasonable price. :/

i thought it was $99 on amazon in th US?
